This might sound really minor. But I seriously wish the bridge from each platform was like half the size, It's way to long.

Get into a cardboard box, hold Triangle, and choose your destination.
You'll be there instantly..
So no, not the Helicopter.
They missed the most important thing to do at motherbase, which is to go to the medical platform and at the top floor find the door that opens and unlock a secret cutscene. Without spoiling it, just know it's very significant with regards to the events of Ground Zeroes.
Also, rescuing animals increases staff morale, gives you extra GMP, increases your heroism, and grows medicinal plants making motherbase all around more productive.

Another really useful tip - travel around mother base using the cardboard box. There is an area right next to each platforms main landing zone where you can use your cardboard box to fast travel around the base!

Hi, i'm people from 2019. In addition, MGSV is playable smoothly on AMD Athlon 200GE at 768p all high settting except shadow on mid. Easily the best title I played on my potato pc.
Because KojiPro actually put in the time to optimise their game, unlike 99% of triple A releases
Wish you could explore the interior of MB a little more. A mission where you have to fight through enemy invaders through offices and facilities would be very cool

Things to do at Mother Base:
-Take a shower
-Interrogate guards to find the location of rough diamonds around Motherbase or get some pretty obvious tips
-Find the 2 anime posters around the Main Platform
-Go to the Medical Platform at the third floor and look for a door with a blue light,go inside and them open another door inside to trigger a hidden cutscene and "side ops"
-Perv at Quiet on Medical Platform
-Go to Quarentine Platform to see the Skulls trapped (If you have extracted them)
-Take a walk at Animal Conservation Plant
-Use delivery points to travel across Motherbase instantly (Small orange platform near helipoints,use cardboard box on them)
-Find easter eggs and emblem parts across Motherbase
-Everytime you go to Motherbase bump into the 4 guards saluting you at the helipoint,so that you increase their morale (You dont need to punch them or anything,just bump them or go near them and they will salute you increasing their morale,you can increase a soldier's morale only once per motherbase visit,so dont bother trying to increase even more)
It's fun how all their reactions seem valid at first, but as you get further into the game, you realize how little there is actually to do.
This game is mind blowing. GOTY no doubt, sorry fallout.
Fallout 4 isn't even out yet, you can't compare them yet.

I was expecting to see helis flying around, more dd soldiers, watching them train and doing their tasks etc. And seeing kaz and ocelot talking to the soldiers or follow you for a while with a small breifing

Reminder u don't have to use the helicopter or the jeep to go to each platform u can just go to a box drop off point which is on every platform then get in your box then just hold triangle then click on what ever platform u want

I honestly don't recommend getting this game unless you've played the other MGS games. The story will be super confusing if you don't.

Don't listen to that guy who said not to get the game for twisted story. You should get this game because it's purely amazing, you will love the gameplay but the story.. You may or may not like it. Worth getting it if you haven't played other MGS.

im loving this game so far, but the motherbase is the only thing that kinda disappointed me. theres no option to make the MB unique, they promised so much, but delivered so little. i know visiting MB will get pretty old after 20 more hours of playtime. just being real, lol.

Meta Critic reviewers aren't always right. The version of mgs 5 they reviewed was at a closed event. There was no ending and they were allowed only 35 hours to play it without the microtransactions. Also gamespot had to release a second video explaining their review because so many people complained about it and said it was way better than a 6.

I beg to differ on #4:
Use the Cargo transports (Yellow cargo pads on each platform. Any box will do.) rather than the jeeps.
1. Within seconds you get to the other platforms faster (No need to drive)
2. No need to stop/ park a clunky vehicle
3. Classic Metal Gear Solid style of transportation.
In the demo they said everyone's base will be unique and different. How? They are all the same. You can't change the layout of the base you can only change the colour (there isn't many) and your logo. That's it.
You build the base
+liam russell yes but they all look the same. You can only upgrade each section 4 times to when everyone has all sections at 4 then what? They all look the same there is nothing different about everyone else's. That's the point I'm trying to make. In the gamescon demo they said everyone's base will be different and unique lol
+klarkus FOB not mother base , in FOB you can chose security like Drones , Cameras , traps etc

How to attack a freinds mother base? And do we or the opponent need a FOB to play multiplayer?
Firstly, you need to unlock the FOB multiplayer mode (reach mission 20). And both of you meed FOB.

It's pretty stable if u ask me, if u don't mind graphics, you should get it, because it's a very good port

The base has just started tor for me, but I never expected you could be able to add so much to it. I never would have guessed MGS would have evolved into this.

Oh man the staring competition was well funny
Go to the medical platform on the second or third deck, there is a door that opens, go down the hall and press the button on the wall to open the next door there is a surprise in there for you. Also while doing this go do the side missions where you extract the solders from the old mother base than return for progress.
in episode 6 there's a radio in the catacombs that plays the same channel as in PT Demo
You can also get the jeep and other vehicles via challenge tasks.
The strength of metal gear.. I felt like a kid again a second ago breing afraid and nervous what to do about those skull soldiers damn that was amazing, only mgs can do that with me!
I think the jeep is there by default as soon as you add another platform to your base, I didn't extract one on mine and there it was.
There's a loading area where you can fast travel if you stand on the yellow area while in a box.
The jeeps by the bridges are there by default. You can also just get in a box and get transported.
Visual style is just banging!
The jeep is actually there whether you fulton one or not.

Fastest way for me to get around mother base is to put on the any box and sit on the orange loading zone, once you sit there it should say hold triangle and your iDroid should pop up asking where you want to me shipped
I cant recall ever using Fulton on any Jeep and they showed up at my base anyway. I think it just shows up after you've built it to a specific size.
I made my logo look like the Dairy Queen sign.

Did you know, that on the mission "Voices" in Metal Gear Solid V, there is a radio without a collectable cassette tape that plays the same news report on the radio played in PT? Just found this amazing Easter egg, hope I'm not the only one
I'm sure people have found this by now but instead of driving/taking the helicopter to other platforms you can hide inside a box while on a loading bay (little orange squares on the ground, you can see one to the left as you first enter the command center) and then hold down triangle to quick travel to any platform on your base! Saves a ton of time.
go to delivery poimt sit on platform in cardboard box with out moving for 2 . secs. then you will see why pop up hold why and you can pick anywhere at mother base where you want to go without saving to take a hour to get from platform to platform. it's basically fast travel.
you can also do in the field if you pick up the sticky note right in front of the delivery point

Great stuff. Just one thing on #4. I don't think you have to Fulton extract a jeep before you can get one to move around. My Fulton Extractor hasn't been leveled up to move vehicles and containers yet but I have a jeep on mother base to move to my R&D platform.

9. Go to the blue door on the top floor on the medical strut. Enter it, walk down the corridor and press the button on the next door.
Theres another door that is currently red on the top floor of the command strut. I have the feeling that both will blow your mind.
I cant wait to actually have time to play this game!
One thing you have to do on Mother Base is to visit Paz. I found her by accident and I'm still wondering where the other doors on MB lead to (like the one under the floor where Paz lies).

love this game so far only played 3 hours so far going to have to do all this now.
The jeep is there as soon as you develop another platform. I can't even extract any vehicles yet, but I have jeeps at my mother base. Also, hitting your staff does not increase their moral.
Hitting staff does increase their morale,but you can only increase a staff member morale once per Motherbase visit,but its easier to just bump or go near them.

You don't need to extract a jeep to have it appear in Mother Base... If you do, that would be pretty weird cause I don't even have the fulton cargo 2 upgrade so couldn't even extract a jeep if I tried... and there are loads on my base.
I think you get the jeeps at motherbase regardless of if extract them or not.

You don't need to extract jeeps to find them in your motherbase in case anyone was wondering! Also cardboard boxing at the delivery point is THE fastest way to travel.
There's a faster way of getting around mother base than driving the vehicles. Go to one of the collection points (there's one on each platform) and get in your cardboard box. Then you'll be able to hold the triangle button (PS4) and can immediately be dropped off at any other platform. Much faster than driving. Also if you bring up the map while at mother base, you can easily identify where exactly these collection points are. Hope that helps.
Just a correction the Jeep is there regardless of whether you Fulton one or not
you can use the box to move from platform to platform, much faster than the jeep!

Rob and I using the same loadout :)
i got few more things u should do in motherbase....
1. pick up diamonds...u get location by interrigation ur staff on every platform....
2. get back to motherbase so u can continue with missions and unlock new buddys.
3. i still havent figured out what to do with unprocessed containers, you can fulton extract them, witch makes you loose 10k money, but other than that there is no benefit.
I don't have my Fulton leveled up enough to steal the vehicles, yet. but they are still at my base.
