2:01 FYI for people living in cooler climates, the coconut oil may be solid. Don’t rub it directly on the pot, it may leave white reside (at least it did in my experience). Instead, warm the oil between your hands, then apply.

I have visited clay pot factories in Sri Lanka and in Trinidad, making everything from Diwali torch lights to giant cooking pots and religious items from local terracotta clay. I have not seen anything like it in the UK yet.

I bought my first set of claypots for cooking. One of them has a tiny hole, its nit big water seaps very slowly. How to fix it?
I saw few videos of sealing it with date and baking in the oven but those were for mexican & mediteranian pots. Can these pots be placed in the oven??

If u r just going to boil water, soak the clay pots for 24 hours in water. Scrub and wash. Dry. Then rub oil and warm it in the sun till the oil dries off. Scrub and Wash. That's enough.
