It was very kind of you Daniel, to point all of this out to my fellow coin collectors, in hopes of them not being scammed for lack of knowledge. Yes, it's very king of you, and I personally want to thank you for being so kind in doing so. Much luck to you always, and may you find that very special coin your looking for that would fulfill all your coin hunting assperations. It takes a very special kind of person to be concerned with what happens to strangers; I'd say a loving and kind hearted person to say the least. Best of luck to you and yours, you obviously deserve nothing less! Take care Daniel and, good luck!
Amazing video. I've been collecting for years and just now decided to start looking at my coins and trying to understand the differences of errors and coins to look for. I'm so glad you guys call these people out. They need to be stopped robbing people of what they think is real and being scammed.
I haven't been collecting for long but I waited tables half my life and my dad would tell me what to look for . I HAVE BEEN WATCHING YOU for a while now and i listen to you!! Thank you for helping so much!!
Great Video, Daniel. You are my personal teacher as a Newbie collector. You get right to the point, and your knowledge of coins is unsurpassed to ALL others on UA-cam. Thank you, thank you!! Keep doing what you're doing, I have so much to learn :-)
I apologize on behalf of the human race that you had to make that video. I still watched the entire thing, making sure there wasn’t something I could learn. Thank you for all you do.
I can tell you from my experience that searching for DD, Mint errors and everything in between can be overwhelming sometimes. I really do appreciate Daniel and his knowledge.
Knowledge is power so thanks a million!! I'm new at this but am already intrigued. Coin collecting is a fascinating and realistic hobby that could change your life!
i love going to wreaking yard & pull carpets up & back seats today i got 2 64 D & P nickels plus a 64 D penny & a bunch of others. but i did do my first 4 bank rolls & i dont look for damage coins i look for errors & i do weight everything. & i do watch & lesson to your videos thanks for helping me & many of others
Thank you Daniel, I started collecting when I was in my teens, I was always fascinated with coins and money, my collection was stolen by a family member and I lost interest. During Covid I started collecting again and I’m learning so much, thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Thanks for sharing this video. I'm very new to coin collecting and this video is an eye opener. I recently inherited over a thounsand old coins that have been in the family for generations. I'm having fun searching through them, it is fun but it is also a lot work. I got all the coin books you have recommended on other videos. I'm learning slowly but safely. Thanks again.
"I own em, I have em, I can create em..." I felt that. When I was young, I would be amazed at anything different about a coin. I agree, when uneducated about the way coins are minted, it's very easy to think a coin has an error. Personally it was easier to deal with the disappointment of being wrong when you learn how coins are minted vs being told every single error you find is not an error. Thank you man for really trying to teach people the right way to collect, not by telling them what to collect, but more like what to avoid when collecting. I hope that all made sense lol. Have a great weekend Daniel
That was a great video! I've been messing around with coins and the Red Book since I was a teen. Even though I knew most of the information in this video, it's still nice to see and freshen up the knowledge on. A great video for people just getting into coin collecting, or even people expanding their collections to rarities and errors. Thanks!
OMG! lol, this is great stuff. You're awesome for earnestly trying to push past language barriers and show people how they can determine what is an error coin and what is a damaged coin. I can tell (actually I'm picturing this in my head) that your trying to tell someone that their coin is damaged and they are refuting what your trying to tell them. This probably happens all the time, and it frustrates the heck out of you. You're seeing it more in boards and forums and it just fuels the fire. Keep in mind that there are always going to be people out there that are just looking at how much they can make off coins. They really don't care about the beauty of coins, the history of them, nor do they want to learn or understand them. Your doing a great job, keep it up! I'm learning a lot of stuff and hopefully one of these videos will break the through to some people and they'll 'see' what your trying to share with them. :) Cheers! .
Great video, thank you. I was aware of most of it, but my naive self, did not realise that people are trying to make money from purposely damaged coins. I appreciate the heads up. Will check out the help forum as well.👍😊🇨🇦
Thank you so much for showing us about coins and how or what to look for . Appreciate all you do for us and inform us about coins , damage , value . 🙏🤗❤️🙏
I have a bucket of junk copper pennies, save copper. The junk Zinc pennies can't even go through the Coinstar; best to flatten them and use for jewelry or throw them in trash can. You can melt war nickels, but way try because it's only 30% silver and trying to remove the slag is never easy. To smelt silver junk coins you need a furnace and lots of coin to make bars and rounds, very expensive. But everyone needs a hobby lol. Nice video Daniel!!
Right you are right Daniel those are not mint errors ppl need to start listening to you instead of arguing with you.. through my experience when you find a mint error what ppl don’t understand a error all of the devices will be raised the same it’s unmistakable I had to teach myself like I tell ppl God put ears on you for a reason all you have to do is listen.. ppl now days will argue with a fence post I don’t get it But Daniel you have a lot of patience God Bless you Brother..
If you want to be a coin expert, buy The Big Red Coin Book. Not sure if that's the exact name of the book, but it's close. It cost around 220 or 50 bucks. You may be able to find a year old one cheap. Thanks for the info, Daniel.
I have to admit over the 30 years of collecting and searching coins I always put out the dryer coins thank you my friend for this helpful information video.
I have finally decided that when someone replies to my comment trying to sell me any coins I am going to encourage them to list them on eBay or Etsy. I am so done with those who keep trying to sell me their pocket change just because I comment on your videos. No fault of your Daniel, I will continue to comment when warranted. Love your sharing of the knowledge.
Thank you so much for this post Daniel. An excellent demonstration of examples of coins that were subjected to becoming D.R.T. (Destroyed Right There)..Well done!
Man I love your videos! So informative!! I wish we lived close so I could go to your shop.. Maybe learn a few things in person.. Truth be told you remind me of my late Dad who we was into coins; got too sick to teach as much as he wanted.. Keep up the great work!!
I really like what you have done for coin collecting. I will be purchasing from your store in the future to help support what you do. Unfortunately, I am on a family event mission in Canada. Will do this when I get back to Texas. I did find a Canadian here that sold me some Morgan Dollars at $22.50 a coin so I got a great deal. See ya soon Mr. Daniel, thanks for everything you do.

Half way through the video, the coin with the hole in the center looks like it was shot with a 22 caliber gun and that’s why the reverse had a nipple type protrusion to it. That’s true the more you can learn the better off you are and I was impressed with some of the things that you had showed me on what you had done those coins to make them look like you know, there were rare or special cones that were made like that from the factory But now since I seen what you talking about, makes a lot more sense is those type of people that making it hard for the people like me and other that we’re trying to do this the right way you know it sucks not right, but life ain’t always right, but hopefully that’ll put a stop to a lot of it so anyway thank you for the video and good luck to you

Hey hair stylist for 50 years. That'll make you crazy. I always said, 15 minutes in my chair is too much. 😂. I was blessed to have that job. But at the end of the day 🤪 lolo
I search halves. When I find any of the known errors, it always comes with the apprehension that the good ole ring 'o death in going to make it worthless. Those poor halves have been machens sorted so many times it's on a lot of them.
I've got over 100 slabbed error coins. Slabbed errors are good for beginning error collectors because they don't cost much and you know they are legit. You can look at them closely and then compare them to raw error coins. Price Guide to Mint Errors by Alan Herbert is a good book to have and you can find a used one for about $10, or a little less. In addition to picturing and describing true error coins, the book also covers damaged coins that fool people into thinking they are real errors.

I’m an absolute beginner and wouldn’t think twice about any of those coins. It’s pretty clear the difference between mint errors and sanding or drilling or filing. Morning Daniel! 🍵 Not hard to see that those weren't mint errors. My lingering question is whether or not the Mint's work quality is diminishing?
Awesome video and thanks for putting together and sharing. I keep all the damaged coins I find too.

I search halves. When I find any of the known errors, it always comes with the apprehension that the good ole ring 'o death in going to make it worthless. Those poor halves have been machens sorted so many times it's on a lot of them.
Less then 2 minutes in and you already took a BIG dump on ANACS! GREAT VIDEO! Next make a vid on what is an error also.
Where?
Thank you for the information. I'm new to this. Just this year.
Thank you very much for showing us them coins they helped a lot
I've got over 100 slabbed error coins. Slabbed errors are good for beginning error collectors because they don't cost much and you know they are legit. You can look at them closely and then compare them to raw error coins. Price Guide to Mint Errors by Alan Herbert is a good book to have and you can find a used one for about $10, or a little less. In addition to picturing and describing true error coins, the book also covers damaged coins that fool people into thinking they are real errors.
