I personally wish that when I started collecting someone shoved a "How coins are made" Minting process. I'm sure that would have left me with more sleep and hair! Keep doing what your doing, fine job.
Feeder, finger, fragment. Say that three times! LOL Daniel, thank you so much for all you do. I can’t wait to learn about the press. It all seems so daunting. There’s so much to learn about every aspect of coins and collecting them. You’re the best!
They say knowledge is king, and it will set you free. Ran across this UA-cam video while seeking to differentiate between damaged coins and error struck thru coins -- so that when I post my coins on eBay I will have a clear understanding of the process. Super great tutorials, you are the best.
I just can’t praise you enough, brother! This is such a GREAT channel. You’re informative, yet very stern, blunt, and straightforward. But it’s always in a kind, sincere sort of way. That’s rare these days, and I just absolutely appreciate the heck out of you, and what you do for people. It takes a very genuine person, to be able to do what you do, and explain things the way you do, and not come across as simply “arrogant”. I never ONCE get that vibe from you. I always finish a video thinking to myself- “Man, another GREAT video, from someone who truly cares about teaching and helping”. Tons of fun, my friend. As I’ve said before.. I’m strictly a pocket change hunter. But the day I buy my “must have/holy grail” coin that could never be found in pocket change.. I will buy from you, and only you, without a doubt! Thank you for what you do!
Well said! Don't be afraid to stand corrected and be willing to learn because our time is as valuable as those we reach out to for more information about a particular coin. I really appreciate the knowledge you share Daniel. Shine on superstar!
Thank you so much for showing about these error coins because ive got auite a few coins that i thought was error coins but now i know their not and ive wandered about tut hese for a long time and now thanks to you i know and i can put them to the side and i wont waist money buting them eigher...thank you
Hi Daniel this is an extreamly helpful video to me .I recently got a coin in change and it had issues missing edges and after looking at this video I was able to determine the issues came from circulation or a poor attempt to make the cion look like mint error when in fact it was most likely clipped some how .Thank you for the fabulous information !!
Great work Daniel, been following you for a few weeks now and love the work you're doing. I noted that you mention you have a website but I keep missing the title. Can you please list it. Like to visit and look. Thanks.
@@CoinHELPu Thank you, I appreciate it. If possible, I have one more question regarding Lincoln Cents that I just came across a few minutes ago while checking current cents. I haven't seen or heard anyone talk on this and I'm curious to know if this needs collectors' attention or is not important. The letters VDB appears on the bottom shoulder edge of all the current Lincoln cents. Is it possible for these to be missing and cause an error? I haven't checked any prior 59s. for it. Thanks again.
Thanks again Daniel . Its like you know exactly what I need to hear. Its kind of miraculus in a way. But I thank God for letting me experience all of my experiences. Very good for me. Thanks🇺🇸🍒

I see a lot of Lincoln’s and a few others with grease from the mint still on some of the errors I find. I can tell because it’s imbedded in the deepest point on the coin. I have learned to spot it when opening UNC mint rolls that have never been circulated . When I open them and see some varieties and errors there is still black greasy residue on the coin. I have examples and will post on my Facebook page if needed James Thetford.
@CoinHELPu thank you gor the share , i just tried twice getting a 1916D buffalow nickel that was so split it was two pieces - they would not even grade the coin(s) is this common practice for graders to do ?

Hello Daniel. I love your videos. BUT I learned on some of these videos if the video is 7 years old your coins had to change in price. BUT I think you are pretty close to the time. Thank You

Dan I am a former steelworker forging and casting . My background was in Non Destructive testing. I have a wheat penney with what I think is something on the die when struck? Not sure under what definition to look for it? Inclusion?
Is it worth looking for errors in new Mint stuff? I found a really cool minor strike through on my 2021 D Morgan Dollar that PCGS graded MS70 but I didn’t do variety attribution so they didn’t label it. The only reason I know it’s an error for sure is that it’s noticeable with the naked eye and yet the coin still got an MS70 grade. There is no way the graders missed it so by default the only explanation for the 70 is that it’s an error.
Your channel is very informative very helpful Daniel I wish there was more out like yours but at least I got your channel really appreciate it thanks for all the hard work you put into trying to show everyone different errors and varities in different ways they become errors and also showing nonerrors and fakes I will be telling all my coin friends and groups about your channel 1# (CoinHelpU)
Good morning, Just ran across this 1964 Lincoln cent with obvious damage. After watching uour video about the minting process, I'm thinking this damage has a sliced look, not normal. The back also looks like it's been struck through grease. My picture taking isn't so great hope, you can at least see the big slice enough to tell me what I have here. The top of the coin around rim at top has a line of melted looking mini cuds, if that makes sense. Hope these attachments go through. Thanks in advance. You probably could make a set of dies that you could punch coins with a hydraulic press with. Just need a few tools to do it with. Mill, lathe 2-6 ton Press
And of course several hundreds of hours to embellish the dies like the mint does. lol 😂 Just be thankful pressing metal is extremely evident. You will see a whispy cloud coloration on the edges of close edges of reliefs (the actual coin details) .. very hard to fake such things.

What if you have a coin that the outside layer is bubbled up and is like air is between the coin and the outside layer
It’s a plating blister or post mint heat damage.
Ty your very informative and doing an outstanding job. Keep up the good work.
Hey Daniel on that 99 feeder finger damage I think there was a image of Jesus on there,,it looked cool :)
You can see images, animals and people in could and almost any object.
Actually heritage has a defective planchette on a 1942 with a clean edge on the right on their page now. But still great vid.
Refresh my memory here. Did I say they didn't? Any coin type or denomination has the potential for a defective planchet.
