- Tool Live Aftershock Festival 2016. Full Concert. Multi Cam.
I tried putting this together with the best available video footage, plus 1 great audio source. Some songs have more/better angles than others, and some don't have any footage at all, so it's far from perfect. Video and audio have been edited. NOTE: Danny Carey had to deal with a serious Staph infection that night. Edited by "original" ToolArchive, because why not, popping in for the tour.

I actually cried when they played Parabola. I was so damn happy.
WeenieHutJR I feel ya bro
You, sir, get the spirit of the thing!
I was in the front getting smashed in the human wave. The bass just goes right through you. So great. So glad they opened with third eye. Oh, my hearing is back \m/ KoRn rocked the next day \m/
Me too! 46&2 made me tear up too :)
when they lit up the Grudge at monster mash i almost fainted
Bailed on the last half of Slayer to get a good spot for Tool, best decision I made.
when they walked on I yelled third eye as a joke referencing their 1996 glass house performance and when they actually played I completely lost my mind
Max Phleger Outdoors “IGGYYY! THIRD EYE! YHEW!
He actually screamed a bit with the end of Third Eye. I swear either it's coming back to him or it never left and he's saving it for the album.
Absolute Absol I think he is getting better. I saw him in salt Lake two days ago and he screamed quite a few times.
WeenieHutJR that concert was awesome. Still waiting for someone to upload it, hopefully. The people were nazis about phones which I'm not to mad about
He was probably saving himself. During the most recent tour he either had something with puscifer or other shows so he couldn't strain his voice during just one show. Total speculation and me being hopeful, maybe they have a lot of the vocals recorded now so he's being a little more crazy now during live shows. Probably not but hey, gotta keep a positive attitude about this stuff.
Maynard is the greatest but he genuinely seems more into wine and Puscifer. He's expressed much frustration with Tool and how long they labor over songs and take to make albums, always gets out-voted when he doesn't want to tour, hates the way the band is marketed to fratty fans, etc. He just punches a clock with them.
The Rich Rose it doesn't really seem to me that he's changed all that much from when I first got to see them in the '90s. Of the 5 shows I've seen (last one in 2013), he's always seemed to have an air of "you're not here for me, and I am not this band - I'm just here to add the Vox". I don't mind that he doesn't want to be just the front man for Tool (not that he ever really was) - I'd hate to still be doing exactly the same job I started 20 years ago. Same industry, sure, same job, heck no.
Dan Carey is a fucking champion
just keeps getting better
I heard he had a staph infection during this run.... could be wrong tho
26:30 - 26:40 He fucks up a lot. and at 10:52 droppin sticks alot but yea he is still great for writing all this.
staph will do that. everyone I know (other than DC) doesn't even get out of bed with staph.
Luke Rockhold won the UFC middle weight title against Chris Weidman with a staph infection.
can only imagine the pain of editing all these vids
Maynard has a lot of free time to edit them up
Probably not nearly as "painful" as the wait to hear new material rather than the continued recycling of the old.
I can't imagine the pain of Daney Carey at this concert.
"New" version of "Stinkfist" as the show finale says hi. The tune is 20 years old. As is most of their set list, including "No Quarter".
i hope the 'no quarter' part is sarcasm.....
Hah love all the comments about the phones. Yet here you are enjoying the recordings.
To the OG "tool archive"- glad to see you post a vid man. Hope you're doing well.
"you thought that I had run away,
chasing the cue for the lyrics"
goddamn Maynard makes me laugh. band sounds fucking killer too.
Kit Palmer SO true lol! I don't know why he either chooses to forget the lyrics or change them but he's done that a lot on the recent tours
Kit Palmer haha! Yes! I was trying to figure out what he was saying. I tried to rewind like 5 times.
thablakester well he tends to mess up by accident and then just make a joke of it, which is a better way of dealing with it than slamming the mic down and storming offstage... bless him :')
but when guys exactly?
@theblakester: In this particular case, it's actually because Danny and Adam accidentally slipped up on various parts of the song, throwing the rest of the band off.
Thanks for sharing. Every year the setlist stays relatively the same while the quality of the videos get better. I was over at the nearest beer booth, tripping on the lasers shoot through the trees. Good times.
They NEVER fail to amaze me! Best band in history without a doubt. Can't wait for the new album next year! TOOL!!!
Stew Pac "next year"
Finally
Coldplay are better
The intro to third eye is better than this generation's whole catalog of music.
Agreed. I saw them back in 1993 ish at Rockstock Kitsap County Fairgrounds. It literally blew me away. Even back then it was still the best show I had ever seen. Cheers Joshua
I saw them in Little Rock and I swear Adam added some new licks, it sounded great too. The performance here is pretty messy
Cheers to you as well my friend.
Ikr saw em' a cpl times in 97'(Jersey, NY) and they blew away everything I'd seen up till then. Truly one of my most fave bands, surgical musicians that they are!
Joshua LaPointe your damn right
10,000 days definitely seemed like a last album type of album. And that's fine because what a journey Tool brought us on.
This bootlegs vids are the most close i'll be to watch them live, so thanks a lot!
I went to the show in SLC and it was fucking great. They all sounded so damn good.
Yes.
WeenieHutJR I was there too. Amazing show! The worst thing about Tool, they can't live forever, continuing to make this incredible music. In my opinion, the most talented band in existence.
Yeah man, I know what you mean. I hope I can see them a few more times before they pine away.
I turned down going to that show because I saw it was in a pretty big venue. How do you rock out in a bunch of neat eyes?
It sounded great man.
Im so glad me and my two buddies drove all the way from Portland, OR to see this show, it was so amazing. And the fact that we were right up front was also amazing! Such a surreal experience seeing your favorite band ever right before your very eyes. This was my second time seeing them, and the fact that Danny had staph infection was crazy! the crowd pissed me off though, fucking mashing for Tool? who the fuck does that? i was just trying to enjoy the music and visuals the whole time, but found myself fighting to stay in my spot the whole time.
Look at all the people recording the show for no reason, when its just going to sound sub par anyway. Seriously baffling.
Jibberwhistle it really is baffling. you can't relive the experience of actually being there no matter how hard you try.using the effort and energy necessary for recording it just takes away from it
BuyMeAKoala was at a Katatonia gig the other night and the amount of idiots I saw scrabbling around looking for their dropped phones was ridiculous. Venues must make a killing from sweeping up smartphones at the end of the night.
Jibberwhistle who cares let them do what they want. some sound pretty good.
of sure they must all be from Tampa Bay though yaanno aha!
MJK particularly hates when people have their phones out, or even cameras. At least he did in the past. I'm surprised this video is still up.
Thanks for posting, I was about 5 rows from the front right in the center for the show and it was unreal. First time seeing Tool live and it was definitely one of my favorite concert experiences
I was there. In front of the stage.
I have seen Tool 3 times live. This show was fun and had intense energy. regardless of Danny Carrey suffering a staph infection throughout the show .....It was plain to see that all these guys in TOOL were down as fuck for this show. It was awesome to experience.
Thanks for doing this for all. I know we all appreciate it!
I was there in person, the vibe was outstanding, THANK YOU Toolarchive! THIRD EYE NEVER GETS OLD!
If you notice the light show is amazing, it starts off all dark, then a few stage lights. then a few images, then finally at the climax of parabola they turn the screens on!!
Also, FK multicam, its a plague upon the world imo, seeing it the way you would in person is def the best.
Most beautiful thing I've ever seen... just keeps gets better and better
Thanks for taking the time to do this man! Always great to listen the best band in the planet
What a great show! So happy we made the trip - so worth it!
I've seen TOOL like 3 times.and always amazing. .ty for the upload..missed this show..
thank you for sharing this amazing footage!!
holy moly this was HUUUGE! thanks for the suggestion on the Tulsa concert and ofc the great editing!! Stinkfist shocked the hell out of my LaScalas!!!
Oh he's back, those screams. Yessss.
Third Eye: 9:44
Adam seems lost with the riff. Danny loses sticks a few times and hit a mic. Maynard does not understand what part of the letter would go. Justin is solid as a rock.
10:58 they catch the ball.
Danny had a staph infection that concert so for once in his life struggled
Adam always has trouble landing the high notes at 10:05 on his Les Paul
Los Angeles to Sacramento for this show. My first time seeing Tool and I was blown away.
Danny played this entire show battling a serious staph infection that he got the day before. Dude is my hero.
TOOL /NEED NEW MUSIC..........PLEEEEEEEEZE
I don't want it
I just need it
To Breathe, to feel, to know that I am alive
Amazing close ups. No band better, ever. Amazing performance. DC, MJk, AJ and JC on it completely. Junior's lighting, genius on display. Amazing. Some new material dropped in here and there in a show of ASTONISHING creativity. And I'm still not done watching it. Art, baby~
Best concert I've ever seen, by a million miles. Fuck!
I so Remember this night one of the best things I have ever seen they straight torn the place up loved it.
Aaaahhhh!!!! I was there! My first Aftershock experience! So awesome. Every band was EXCELLENT!
Thank You for publishing this Video. Danny Carey IS THE BEST DRUMMER IN THE WORLD.
One of the best days of my life
hey, thank you for sharing this. very appreciated,
rad. I missed this show, so thanks for video share!
Sounds awesome, His vocals are great on this.
Has Maynard had a voice transplant ? He sounds damm good in this show.
Rod T I've seen them 4 times now since 2003 and every time they are spot on.
He was probably saving his voice during the last tour and now that this is just a one off he's letting it all out. Total speculation but it could be that a lot of the vocals have been recorded for the upcoming album and now he doesn't have to worry about straining his voice... That's just me being optimistic though.
He said recently that he has found the passion for performing again. Maybe he's just more into it now.
Rod T He may have also seen a vocal coach or something to get some techniques to help him do it "properly", as he said in years gone by he was straining his voice even then. Whatever the reason, I'm glad it's working.
JTNugget where did he say this?
I was there it was so amazing the best part about these concerts is seeing all the fights in the crowds it's so crazy !!! Pusifer also played a great show !
What a great show. Best I've heard them in awhile. Well done. Seemed to be playing off one another and "vibing together" if you will, more so than in recent years. Good to see. Tool has had such a massive influence on my life and my own music, this brought warm and encouraging feelings to my heart to see them sort of recapture the passion, glad to see it. Anyway, cheers to you all, and here's hoping for a new Tool album... SOON! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, PLEEEASE!!!
opening with third eye, amazing. Aenima is there best, in my humble opinion.
So good thanks dude.
omg i cried so much when they played third eye. best concert ever
Please give my regards to the OG ToolArchive for giving us this masterpiece. It's nice to know Maynard can actually still sing his songs pretty well. He did amazing on this concert.
THANKS, now I can relive the first time I saw Tool whenever I want. :D
I'd really like to go to one of their regular tours now, instead of just a festival stop. People told me this was just mediocre for them, but I was mind-blown. Especially learning about their drummer's illness.
I was right smack in the front,
Right beside my all time favorite band. It was an incredible experience I’ll remember for the rest of my life.
Excellent performance and show
Thanks for putting this together. I do have the first 62 minutes on video in 1080p. Oh well....
Awesome. Thank you :D
Amazing work man!
nice!I was going to try and make it to this show but ultimately it all fell apart glad I can at least see it thank you for the post!
Great work ToolArchive
Thanks Danny
Where's the dude with the setlist with minutes?
Thanks for dropping in original ToolArchive. o7
HIGHSCHOOL BLAST FROM THE PAST. can't wait to hear new stuff from them
Jane's Addiction still tours with like 40 yr old songs
......... YES ! , this is really well sounding. Cool , thanks.
Amazing show! Thxs
So gald I got to see them live
I was there! It was an amazing performance but I was bummed out they didn't play some of their amazing songs
they sound wonderful!
thank you
This is magnificent.
this was such an awesome concert
Descending sounds amazing, Props to Danny for playing with staph 👍
Thanks !
They played amazing here, Maynard sounded great. I hope the new album finally comes out next year!!!
i really dont understand how anyone could look at tool with their phone/recording device in their hands, honestly id just be stood their in a dreamlike state, which im sure alot of you guys/gals would be just like me
I wanna be a black man that’s what I did, I didn’t wanna ruin the moment. at the end I took pictures for myself but throughout the show I just stood and enjoyed the show without any distraction
I was supposed to be at this concert but this works
bitches lol it's what I'm about to watch when I get home
Nice work!
34:30 love that jam
Third eye live. Wow. F'n epic song.
Jambi is a masterpiece
great vid btw!
Danny you are a fucking hero! We Luv you man! #BestDrummerInTheWorld #GetBetterSoon
You are the real MVP
Thanks for helping me find a cure to my insomnia, TOOL!!!
9:58; danny carey repositioning the tom mic, almost as if it's 1 of the parts he needs to play for the song; very cool...
Really love TOOL for several years now. Saw them live in 2001 for Lateralus tour, it was unbelievable as usual. Even if I get bored of Maynard hidden in the dark instead of the "Undertow/Aenima" years, I can't wait for the next record to come.
Those fucking phones... Well, maybe, just maybe I can understand if you have a good device and gonna use the video, but most of those records are shitty, why spend time on holding a fucking phone and not enjoy the show?
Alice K. Yes! I could write a 5 page paper about this.
Alice K. At the Salt Lake show just recently they had a no phones out policy during the whole show. And I absolutely had no problem with that. Be in the moment. Live the moment. Not let some device do that for you. You know. :)
Unfortunately though, at those large shows it is so hard to reinforce that rule. I've been to see Puscifer several times, and since they play mostly at small theaters, they can lock down the place pretty easily.
I want to add to my Snapchat story, just for a minute, I'm not going to be recording the whole time, just a 7 second video on each song.
Julian B I never get the point of apps like snapchat anyway. I mean, who cares if I am in a concert, why would I want to share it everywhere? It is a moment for myself. Before social media people were probably suffering because they couldn't share that they were in a good concert, right?
I am being a bitch right now because I am jealous that I've never seen them live.
52:49 to 53:00 :Most awesome thing ever.
That put such a smile on my face, love it.
@7TheAlmightySeven7 Indeed, along with 11:49-12:52 (12:08 was peak jam). Also: Justin owned this show; unbelievable craftsman at work. :)
The connection between bassist and drummer is unbreakable
+Jedi Wright so true...Justin and Danny. ..its just pretty amazing. .you just see the magic.......
and then it gets better....lol
I was there! Great sound and set list
Dang this is amazing, wish there was a chance to see it for myself. I know TooL is touring, however none of the shows are less than 4 hours away. I should had just went to it anyway but I wish there was at least one show in my state.
wow.amazing recording...jesus makes you feel like you were there...but hey nothing like TOOL live ..its amazing...thanks for this..I'm loving it
TY MAN!
flawless
i was there and it was an amazing show. they had a shorter than usual set list which was the only down side.
Cuando tocaron en México no tocaron parábola, me la deben. Come back again.!
There is a concert occurring in Denver as we speak. So pumped for Friday night in Little Rock.
Nicely done...
Jesus fucking christ. I've seen pretty much every bootleg, every extended version, every rare cut Tool has made. Yet they still inspire me with something new.
wow the sound is really good.
amazing
Extremely Gracious For This Show
SAW THEM FIRST TIME IN 92. TIME FLIES.
Fucking brilliant, as one would expect from the mighty T00L. One of the best bands ever.
Dude... fuuuuuck man... that's some good shit, can't believe I missed it
danced my ass off and went to my happy place...lol...when you're too short to see why the hell not...absolutely fantastic show
