After the podcast, a shadowy figure in a treanchcoat tossed his half-smoked cigarette into the street. As he approached Woolie's door, he loaded his 45 caliber revolver with a single bullet. He knocked on the front door. Woolie half cocked the door to see who it was... it was the man from the bar. "Top of the mornin' to you, lad!" the Irishman yelled as he kicked the door open busting Woolie's nose. Forcing the mid-level internet personality to his knees, the Irishman brought the gun to Woolie's temple, "Shoulda kept yer *fookin'* mouth shut!" Woolie smacked the gun from the Irishman's hand using his already broken madkatz controller. *BLAM!* The revolver went off and blew out woolie's TV. Woolie then wound back and hit the Irishman in the face with the controller. Little effect. The Irishman picked woolie up by the scruff of his jersey and proceeded to land a tirade of punches upon him. Woolie luckily dodged one after getting hit four times and using the momentum of the Irishman's body weight he threw him into his coffee table. The sound of smashing glass filled the room and could be heard out in the hallway. Other residents of Woolie's apartment complex went out to hear the commotion more clearly. Mothers held their scared children in their arms. Dogs barked ferociously. A confused half dressed middle-aged weeb scratched his balls all while the sounds of crashing furniture and the shouting of two men murdering each other resonated from below the doorframe of the dark hallway. The sounds subsided. There was silence for a long time. Woolie opened the door and limped out. His mouth missing teeth. His jersey covered in blood. "That has to be the least lucky Irishman I've ever seen..." ... and that my friends is the story of how Woolie totally killed a guy.

i just looked it up for another comment, and no, it's unlikely they drew from cú chulainn. basically, most clan names and titles in ireland come from one of their ancestor's nicknames. so "O'Madain", which is the old form of the name, basically means "descendant of the son of the hound", one of the ancestors of the clan would have been named or nicknamed "Madain" or "Mhadaidh", which basically means "dog".
Clan-based cultures like Ireland and Scotland are likely to have a lot of family history written down, the question is how much of it you can trust. Especially when there's beef between clans. There's a traditional scottish ballad called Baron o' Brackley, that you can search on youtube and find a bunch of recordings of, all about a distant relation of mine and what a scumbag he was. But of course in any source written by a member of the clan, he's portrayed as the archetypal outlaw hero.

i just looked it up for another comment, and no, it's unlikely they drew from cú chulainn. basically, most clan names and titles in ireland come from one of their ancestor's nicknames.
so "O'Madain", which is the old form of the name, basically means "descendant of the son of the hound", one of the ancestors of the clan would have been named or nicknamed "Madain" or "Mhadaidh", which basically means "dog".
Clan-based cultures like Ireland and Scotland are likely to have a lot of family history written down, the question is how much of it you can trust. Especially when there's beef between clans. There's a traditional scottish ballad called Baron o' Brackley, that you can search on youtube and find a bunch of recordings of, all about a distant relation of mine and what a scumbag he was. But of course in any source written by a member of the clan, he's portrayed as the archetypal outlaw hero.

I found out my Ancestors came over on the mayflower, i found out that I am descended from multiple native american tribes on my maternal grandmothers side.
On my maternal grandfathers side I am descended from THE JOHN ADAMS. The guy who gave economic and military aid to the Haitan Rebels and 2nd President. A framer of the US constitution. and his son John QUINCY Adams! The first abolitionist president!
it was a shock because growing up John Adams was always one of my favorite American historical figures. And we have a long standing military tradition going all the way back to the Revolution. My ancestors were all union soldiers too so and have no record of slaveowning, In fact there is a long standing family pattern of fighting for peoples rights. I am so proud to learn that my love of liberty was a gift my Ancestors passed down to me.
We served in literally every military engagement, save for either the Mexican-American war or the Spanish-American war, and in all branches save for the Airforce.
And nobody in the family ever passed down this information but my cousin was able to go through census data, birth certificates, tax information and ledgers to get all these details.
