    Thanks for the great inspirational video. Guess we're all getting cabin fever due to the virus thing and getting out on the water is a great way to stay sane. I kayaked the Choctawhatchee last Saturday (4-25) from Morrison springs to Hwy 20 and saw LOTS of people on boats and jet skis.

    Trip, watching your videos has inspired me to stop making excuses and dust off my camping gear. Last time I camped was in Maine, and I loved it. Already planning a trip in September. The hammock idea has me stoked, as I hate sleeping on the ground. Looking forward to cooler weather so I can “get out there”. Keep the adventure spirit thriving.

    The first sandbar you stopped at across from where you set up, i camped there a couple weeks back. You have to walk up the hill and its a nice little area. Our firewall is probably still there. Property owner doesnt mind as long as you clean up any trash.

    • @TripSmith
      @TripSmith  4 роки тому +1

      Oh cool! Yep, you're firewall was still there. I just didn't see a great spot for the hammock and no where for the slackline so I gambled :) There was no trash so that's a good thing, hopefully the property owner continues to not mind respectful paddlers.

    You’ve talked before about your diet in the days leading up to an adventure. Maybe one day you could show what that entails vs your every day diet. I’ve cut dairy and most grains and sugar from my diet since watching your diet/exercise video and it’s made a big difference for me. Thank You!!

    • @TripSmith
      @TripSmith  4 роки тому +1

      Hey PJ! My diet doesn't change much leading up to an adventure since I eat pretty clean most all the time. My suggestion would be to not eat anything out of the ordinary that could cause your stomach/digestive system to get out of whack. Most folks don't eat really well in general so I'd advice most just to try to eat healthy before the adventure ;)

    Now i see why you dont take the kids out with you. They are too little for an all day or weekend on a kayak trip yet. it will be fun in the future.

      That's a Red Original Deck bag. Not sure if they make it anymore but it's the only one like it that I've seen. Very awesome piece of gear!

    Does your watch GPS require cell service to work?

    • @TripSmith
      @TripSmith  4 роки тому +4

      I don't know... But I'm testing it right now >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> I just turned my phone off and it's still showing my position. Did a quick research run and the watch advertises to have it's own GPS so no cell service should be needed ;)

    Why didn’t you take your Kaku Kahuna on this trip? Do you like the inflatable better? Trying to decide what to get for river adventures. Thanks!

    • @TripSmith
      @TripSmith  4 роки тому

      I sold the Kahuna quite a while back. AFter getting inflatables I never used the Kahuna again. Compared to ISUP's it's heavy, harder to paddle, doesn't track half as good as an ISUP, harder to haul around/load/unload, your feet are almost always wet with water coming over the board on the kahuna along with other reasons I can't think of right now. Try an ISUP before getting a kahuna ;) There is good reason why I have 5 ISUP's and no more Kahuna!

    • @whatsuptj3492
      @whatsuptj3492 4 роки тому

      Thanks Trip.....I really appreciate the advice and perspective. So any chance you have a favorite ISUP if you had to choose. I was hoping I could find one that I could attach things to like a chair or paddle holder. Perhaps I am overthinking it but that seemed important to have the YakAttack like rails. Thanks and paddling on! TJ
