    Outer pitch tent is a good idea. Keep both sections in separate dry bags. That way your inner stays dry. Good vid.

    Hi guys , my bag of choice is the Aquapac 70l duffel.
    Because it's a duffel you can really sort out weight distribution and it's so much easier to organise and find everything.
    It also comes with the much needed backpack straps for Portaging (said in the poshes voice).
    one of the best features though is the valve, as with this i can really flatten the bag to get a nice low profile,
    this helps with the balance of the board and windy conditions.
    It has 4 closing straps too, either side of the handles and at both ends.
    If i had to give one negative, it would be the some folk have trouble with closing the bag, this is just practice though!!
    a helpful tip is to make sure that valve is open to push some air out.
    Have you tried this bag? because i rate them very highly!!
    keep up the great work , Jonnyh_suplife :)

    Very nice video series! I noticed that you tend to use inflatables for the touring videos. Can you explain what factors incline you to choose an inflatable touring board over a hard board?

    • @SUPboardermag
      @SUPboardermag  3 роки тому +3

      Theres loads of reasons that help you make the decision. The key reasons are transportability and storage - many people don't have the ability to store or transport a hard board, so inflatable is the best option. If you want to travel on a plane, the inflatable is a much much simpler solution. Inflatables in general will give a slightly lower performance than composite boards because of the limitations inflatable shapers have but also because the material used is not as smooth as painted composite. For that reason I always look to a composite board if I can, but if the trip doesnt allow it, then inflatable is the choice. There are however probably more options available in the inflatable market for touring boards, so its arguably easier to find a board that suits your ideal needs in the inflatable market. I hope that helps - Will | SUPboarder Team

    Are there any more videos on the channel of that canal route shown in this video? What canal were they filmed at? Thanks!

    • @SUPboardermag
      @SUPboardermag  3 роки тому

      This was on the Brecon and Monmouthshire canal - I found the route using GeoSUP App and also tracked it on there too, so there is more details on the trip there. We do have lots of vlog footage from this trip and we will pull I together to a vlog as soon as we can :)
      Thanks,

    Could you secure gear to your board with cam straps if you don't have enough d rings?

    • @SUPboardermag
      @SUPboardermag  3 роки тому

      I guess so, but wrapping the straps under the board will add extra drag and at the rear of the board they may slide off. I would prefer buying extra rings to attach to the board - some SUP retailers stock these or there are some suck on options. Will - SUPboarder

    How much weight should a board support for touring/camping trip? I am 90 kg.

    • @SUPboardermag
      @SUPboardermag  3 роки тому +1

      I like to have a board that can take 20-30kg extra gear. But for a single night and if I pack light its down to about 10kg. Does that help? Thanks Reuben

    Should it be possible when I use kayak paddle in SUP touring?

    • @SUPboardermag

      I guess it would be possible. Never tried it but it should work sitting down.

      You could glue D-rings to your board and fit a detachbale kayak seat to convert your sup board.

    It seems like packing like a backpacker would really reduce windage and trim issues.
