If you own a LG CX you can turn the tv into a PC monitor by switching the input from game to PC. That way 4:4:4 chroma is enabled which in turn allows you to calibrate the Xbox with HGIG enabled for very nice accurate colors.
I got mine on November 10th and it was the BEST investment I made in 2020, but I have a 2 1/2year old LG TV and it has 4K HDR but I came from a Xbox One and it’s super super clear and awesome!!!!
48-inch LG CX and XSX are stunning, just bought Forza Horizon 5 and can't get enough, absolute stunner. Run my RTX 3090 equipped PC through a 65-inch CX and its breathtaking.
If you are running it through a receiver some receivers need to manually be told hdmi is 120hz. Onkyo for example needs to be set to 8k to allow 4k 120hz to pass through. Learned this the hard way.
I know this video is older but if you have allow 50hz checked on US displays this is what makes UA-cam app lose audio sync and drop frames unchecking that one setting fixes this.
Very important: For the HDR calibration, you have to set your TV's tone mapping to HGIG. I don't think every TV has this option, but my LG C9 does. The reason he wasn't able to see the difference between uncalibrated and calibrated in this video is because he didn't use HGIG. I also couldn't tell the difference when I first did it, but when I learned you had to use HGIG and changed my setting, the difference was very apparent.

Leave it off. If you're displaying a 10 bit source it won't give you 10bit 4 2 2 It'll always drop down to 8bit 4 2 2 instead and you don't want that over 10 bit 4 2 0. Especially since I think the Xbox does it's own (crappy) internal conversion. I know that on my old pana oled it gave me horrible banding in certain game scenes (foggy scenes etc.) if I left it on.

The Q80T is a good tv mate and good choice, i have the Q95T 👍
Do you have a similar guide for monitors?
The bug you're talking about I had it for a while and it went away, I think it might of have to do with enabling YCC 4:2:2? Could very from model to model?🤔
Do you ever figure it out? I have this exact issue. I own a lil HDMI that does recognize 4k but when I bought a better longer wire it keeps me at 1080p and says doesn't recognize 4k or wire doesn't support. I do know it definitely supports 4k tho.
got the series x and the ps5 and just ordered the vizio p65 quantum was going to get the oled version but ive had bad luck with burn in previously so i opted out of going oled this go around.
Forza and D2 look👀 in a word (CRISPY) !!!!
got a x day 1 🇨🇦 wanting a 65 cx but hesitant to pull the trigger.
I’ve got one. Managed to get it luckily through Game on Xbox All Access. Great piece of kit, can’t wait for more exclusives. This video is really helpful thank you.
@stryfetc1 Ikr sad. He cares more about dropping his pants than to keep a healthy fairness on consoles.
Fortunately I was able to score both a Series X and a PS5 at launch without dealing with those bastard scalpers.
Same, I got lucky and was able to get both on launch day and loving both
Same ✅ there awesome
I’m playing series x a bit more right now tho
Been going back and forth with my backlog. Titles that get any updates to use the new hardware are great while we wait for true next gen software to arrive.
@@alanlindsay8310 Precisely✅
i got a PS5 Digital ordered on launch day but i didnt receive it until mid December. still got it without a scalper though.
Great video I have a series x and I have the a90k Sony should I turn my dynamic tone mapping of in the tv setting so when gaming it don’t double tone map with the series x ?
Had mine since day one. Unfortunately still a bit glitchy with my Vizio 55” OLED even after the most recent update from Vizio.
Best reviewer!!! By far
I just want to know what tml and fftml mean
I was able to pre order one in November. Love it except for Wi-Fi speeds are terrible. Yes, I have it wired but I want to move it around my house and can't without running more wires. Have a LG CX ordered so I'm excited to see what this console can really do!
The wifi speeds are incredible I am getting 160 mbs compared to 30 on XB1 and lower latency
