  • In order to obtain a quiet, non clicking Diesel Heater, I replaced the piston pump with a simple, cheap 2-way valve. This valve is still clicking, but much quieter. Now the challenge will be to find the correct parameters for the Arduino program, to make the heater controllable.

Watch out with Mosfets the metal mtg tab may not be isolated from supply connections. So a mounting kit may be needed. You can buy isolated tab mosfets. Similar to solid state relays they need to be mounted on a heat sink. Using their on specified resistance (data sheet) its possible to calculate volt drop and power dissipation. Also watch out for the Diesel heater electrical connections. On some both the positive and negative wires are isolated from thread. Others have negative wire connected to thread. This leads to complications when switching this wire electronically. As body negative 12v etc. Cheers from old George

My problem has been to much voltage pumping alot of fuel I have a lithium titanate battery goes from 16v down to 12 I need to put a voltage regulator on because it soots up to fast .

Hi matey. I am thinking of using a Peristaltic 12V pump on my Diesel Heater. But not sure how to covert the pulsing voltage output from the heater to a variable voltage to control fuel dosage. Cheers from old George

@@ouroldtruck9380 Thanks for your reply. I run my heater currently on Kerosene, Parrafin or Domestic Heating oil as its half the price of Diesel. I cannot move heater tank in my small motorhome. It's same level as heater. In your design you could replace solid state relays with 5vdc gate triggered Mosfets. Bolt to heatsink. Very cheap and small size. 110Amp 55v around £0.99 99pence each. Just need to be heatsink mounted. Also when buying check for 5v gate voltage. Cheers from George

@@ouroldtruck9380 In the UK there is no difference with respect to Diesel Red or normal apart from the amount of Government Tax on fuel. Cheers from old George

so I tested the motor with a buck converter that I know is well filtered and I still got the whine I replaced the bearings and that helped a little but I think it may have been coming from the brushes so it may just quiet down on its own I would like to buy one from you're supplier they look to be of better quality than mine at least now this one has a conformally coted bord and epoxy potting lol turns out the whining might have gon away on its own brand new the brushes are very poorly fitted to the comutator.

@@ouroldtruck9380 so I tested the motor driving it directly off of a buck converter and still got the whining also the cheap heaters don't even have a conformal coating and the brushes are super loose in the guides also I don't know about yours but ours has no epoxy on the motor windings and I think I remember yours having a poted bord.

I am desperately trying to find a way to quiet the high-frequency whine of the motor tried adding capacitors resistors inductors and diodes to smooth the PWM signal to the motor but the motor speed ramps up way too high if there is any capacitor on it and I don't know what value of resistor or capacitor I need to make the motor speed normal with a smother signal I have better than normal high-frequency hearing and a dog who hates the high pitched sound if you have any idea how to fix this it would be amasing.

@@ouroldtruck9380 well it wouldn't be hard to just take the impeller of the fan motor for the blower and replace it with a computer fan out of a dell they have some really powerful PWM fans and the current draw would be less on the main motor with less resistance so power consumption shouldn't be bad when I do a build like this I might have the blower fan temperature controlled so it just blows fast enough to keep the casting from getting hot also I am still watching all you're videos and i haven't seen anyone else go this deep on these mods you are awesome

The fan controls the inner fan for air to burn chamber also
