This is my daughters favorite song. We listen to it together 10x a week. Today was the first time I listened to it without her and I’ve been ugly crying for 20 minutes now. Y’all really are such a special band. Thank you.
Who in their right mind would do a thumbs down for these guys? WTF? Really. Susan has the voice of an angel. Seriously good music. Hope to see them in Australia one day.
@@ptmbanks now now ptm' , don't be like "them " and get all judjy if that's even a real word .we 've been force fed so much Shit I believe most of us have no clue what a Great performance is , so give 'em a bit of slack , they need a bit of love . (obviously)
It amazes me how far music has become so bad. These people can play, in this age everything is autotuned and computer generated . Thank the Lord that there are still great musicians out there like Susan and Derek to let people know how it is supposed to be done. Thank you for all the wonderful music you have blessed us with over the years.
I first saw and heard Susan on a local morning TV show in Providence Rhode Island back in the early 1980's. This young girl was belting out a song with crisp, powerful vocals with the sound of an old blues legendary soul. I couldn't believe my ears. I was instantly a fan. I stood there looking at the TV and watching. I was just stunned. It left such a lasting impression on me. 40 years later and the quality and sound is still crisp, clean, and genuine. Absolutely an amazingly talented person. I could never appreciate any fabricated pop "flash pan" performer because they could never compare with such real natural ability as Susan. What a wonderful blessing to listen and enjoy all these years!
I just saw them perform at the White River Amphitheater in the outskirts of Seattle last night. One of the best shows I've ever seen. Derek's high-flying guitar act tempered by Susan's vocals. Her own blues guitar getting a chance to shine as well. If you're a fan of blues, blues rock, or just plain good music played well, you should give them a listen. And yes, she performed this song. Interestingly enough, I saw Bonnie Raitt perform this song last week. Bonnie's version broke my heart. Susan's gave me hope.
Oh Susan this is absolutely a very special version of this song. John is gone now and Kofi gone as well. Very sad with such beautiful flute and keyboard , a very treasured memory, with love......
What a great tribute to a John Prine classic!👍💖🎸😎 Now was definitely the time to release this wonderful cover of his song. Thank you Susan and to the entire TTB for making music real and so soulful.👍👍👍💖💖💖🎸🎸🎸😎😎😎
The voice of a angel. Susan you are a one of a kind. I could listen to this song over and over. The power of that gorgeous raspy voice gets me every time.
Damn, amazing! I honestly didn't think it was possible for a cover to do justice to this beautiful song. I would love to see John Prine's reaction to this amazing rendering. Bonnie Raitt is amazing, but this... damn! Prine was such a generous artist with younger talent. He would be sitting back, guitar in hand, and just drinking this in. Susan Tedeschi, and this wonderful band... absolute perfection!
R.I.P. John Prine, and you're a Bad Ass Singer Susan Tedeschi, keep up the awesome work y'all are doing!! And you're version of "Angel From Montgomery" is by far the best around!!#AwesomeBand
Thank you for posting this TTB! So very beautiful! It’s so powerful and hits me like no other song does. John Prine was a genius and Susan is a soulful Angel herself who does this song justice like only Bonnie Raitt and her can do. And throwing in Sugaree is one hell of a way to top it off. Much love TTB Family!
I heard Susan Tedeschi's version of this song back in 05 or 06 and I found out that Bonnie Raitt had done a version. Then after another google search I found out about John Prine. I listened to his recording of this song and then I heard 'Hello in There' and Illegal Smile'. I was a fan of his ever since. It actually hit me when he passed.
How does someone give this a thumbs down??? Amazing group and Susan's voice is remarkable. I could listen the them all day. We have seen them a few times and cant wait till we see them again.
So, I don't know what is going on in the life of someone who feels the need to put a thumbs down on this video, but I do feel sorry for them. Something must not be going right for them in their opinion if they want to cast negativity about this wonderful performance. I hope they can get to a place where they can hear (and see) the beauty in these songs and renditions.
John Prine (RIP) brought me here to this song. Amazing performance, amazing band, amazing musicians. Thanks everyone. (PS, I hear a Jimi Hendrix (RIP) tone in that Strat as the she does her solo, job well done. Fan 4 life.)
From the pen of the genius of John Prine, to the smoky pipes of the best female blues/rock voice of a generation, to God’s ears.
Luckily...mine & your ears too.
How many times can a person listen to this....infinity and beyond
How damn good was that .... brought tears to my eyes, maybe I'm a sad old 69 year music fan ...
Hey, hey...you are a 69 y.o living man. AND listening to music. That's not SO BAD.
RIP Kofi Burbridge. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ That Flute solo tho... 🔥🔥🔥
absolutely tragic loss he was absolutely spectacular
Yes, tremendous flute
He is greatly missed!
The “back up” singers ARENT back up at all. They are friggin AWESOME. Their vocals put chills down your back.
That is a damn tight band, and one of the best vocalists of our time.
Best working band today. No gimmicks, just raw talent. Awesome.
This is my daughters favorite song. We listen to it together 10x a week. Today was the first time I listened to it without her and I’ve been ugly crying for 20 minutes now. Y’all really are such a special band. Thank you.
Wow, for me this is the best version of this song they ever did Susans singing and Kofis flute, so great.
The depth of this band is remarkable, and getting deeper the longer they play together.
They must command really big $'s. Lots of mouths to feed up there and back stage...
What I find a tad disappointing is that they to never cover one of my all time favorite bands, The Derek Trucks Band.
@@swoe420 really dog...just really...
@@docwill184 They ain’t about the money...just the music
@@docwill184 Not as much as you might think. They tour relentlessly and they operate as a family.
As a 14,000-year-old music fan, this is way better than when Crag spent all night banging those rocks together.
It's called rock music for a reason ;p
😂
Who in their right mind would do a thumbs down for these guys? WTF? Really. Susan has the voice of an angel. Seriously good music. Hope to see them in Australia one day.
One of the greatest voices of our time
Those thumbs down people, well, I don’t think their thumbs are opposable….that or their parents were unfit to raise children.

Some songs just reach into your soul and live there forever. This is the one.
Susan Tedeschi has such a great voice. Sure does make you week in the knees
What a voice...what a performance! John Prine has a big smile on his face😀
What a flute solo! I miss Kofi!
I love the simplicity of this... I have such tremendous respect for Susan....and there will Never be another Kofi...

Crying for Kofi & John anew... what a beautiful version. Susan's voice is so powerful! Thank you!!
Susan has the voice of an angel. How fitting is this song 🎵....
Just leaving the Tedeschi Trucks show outside of Nashville. They played this tonight. Was a fantastic show.
I just found this band a couple of weeks ago. I can't believe I never heard of them before this! They're amazing!
How good is your band when you sound this magnificent while the best living electric guitar player is taking a piss break?
Yeah I was thinking that too. Then I just listened to Susan and smile smile smile
Yep!!
Amen
That bass note though at 627
Only Susan can handle a duet as a solo and do it flawlessly!
schef61 cool
What else can u expect from an angel like Susan!!
Well said
It was not only a duet

She nails the guitar and what a voice ! 🏴
The drummer is OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!
John Prine would be proud!
I was fortunate enough to be there for this one.. Thanks ..Susan and TTB for always giving Your ALL !
I never get tired of this song
Can't stop watching.
Flute was magical
Best thing on UA-cam at the moment I’m writing this. No question. Believing can be so hard sometimes.
Sweetness, pure and simple. Love this!
Susan Tedeschi is an amazing talent in her own right. She reminds me of Bonnie Raitt every time I hear her.
Beautiful song ....... what a voice 😍.
She was born for this, definitely
Pretty certain I am 100,000 of these viewings!
Wow goosebumpy 💯

Best band in the land
Heard this live in Huntsville and the show was an experience. My favorite band on this planet

STUNNING !!! Absolutely Gorgeous !!
Finally a flute solo that doesn't bring back flashes of Anchorman.
Kofi made the flute cool.
Music will heal this world 😎🎵🎵🎵
Love this song. Both songs. Love love love this band. Especially Susan. She must be the best friend ever.
Susan is such a wonderful and soulful vocalist. This band is a real shining star, they always play together perfectly.

Best version of this song!
This is one of the rare times where I prefer the cover version to the original. Susan kills it.
I wish they made pillows out her her voice! So glorious!!
I wish I could "like" this more than once. Incredible!
Susan - you sing like an angel. RIP John.
So good!
Great tone Susan on your guitar
Brutal!
