Why you can't Handstand

  • There are countless reasons why people can’t hold their handstand. Assuming that you are actually ready to truly benefit from training your freestanding handstand (and trust me, most of you probably are not) it comes down to 3 main reasons why you are not able to hold your handstand consistently.
    Handstands are interesting. Filming and truly analyzing your own practice can help a lot. It is quite incredible for me how much one can improve stability and ultimately handstand success with just a few technical tweaks and adjustments.
    It is vital to keep in mind that these tweaks and adjustments are only possible if the technical level of the athlete is already quite high. There is no shame if you are not there yet. Train progressions that are appropriate for your current level to make sure you get the most out of each practice and do not waste any precious time.

    I came across you recently I think you’re awesome. I love your tips and that alone has helped me improve. I have much more body awareness. I have the flexibility and strength but sometimes I think my positioning when getting into handstand is what creates all the correcting I try to do once in it. Sometimes I feel like I push a lot more than needed because of my body position. So practice practice practice!!

    I’ve been working on it for 5 months & can only get a 5 second hold once & awhile. I can’t do a banana. I can hold for a minute on the wall
