That smile at 09:19! Its so fun too watch someone do something they love and are so good at! Keep this amazing content coming! You are a very talented composer and content creator!
That's so good, and it fits around the sounds in the original so well, especially the bells at the end! Love how the tempo slows significantly, and then the bells are even slower.
it reminds me a little bit of the scores to some of the Louis l'Amour books that have turned into TV shows and movies over the years. Which is not really a bad thing.
Wow!! It's so beautiful, I would totally listen to this in my free time and imagine a pixar movie scene, its amazing how fast you were able to write this!
Watching you compose this was super inspiring. You make it look easy! I would love to have you explain some of your chordal choices with regards to feeling and emotion. Why did you chose this chord over this one, or why did this progression come out when you were improvising. I think that's something I could use a bit more of an understanding of in future videos. What are your go to progressions/chords or tricks to convey an emotion. This is great though, i really enjoyed it
Loved this video! Super helpful. What is the device you used in your mouth to record some of the flute tracks? Is it a device that you can sing into but it sounds like an instrument of choice?
So nostalgic! You are so amazing at this. The music reminds me of the soundtrack for A Night in the Woods (specifically the soundtracks for the town/bridge/house). Wondering what exactly is giving off the nostalgic feeling in these soundtracks?
Amazing! The only thing I'm unsure of is the key of music in relation to the church bells. Now it sounds as if the church will play a dark and unsettling role in the cartoon because of the key mismatch. If the bells were part of the harmony it would have quite a different effect.
i noticed you chose a key that doesn't include a G, which is the note the church bell makes at the end. was that on purpose? how do you interact with sounddesign that may have tuned sounds?
Hey, what is the thing called that you put in your mouth? I imagine it controls the dynamics, but I don't see it under your gear. And if it is expensive, how do you get smooth dynamics without needing to micromanage clip automation?
If you have the video downloaded already you can create an empty audio track on logic and then simply drag and drop the video onto that track from your files!
I love how music can really bring life to even the little things in the video. I mean like, the glockenspiel chime at 9:05 when the farmer picks the carrot and smiles - so good man lol

This was definitely the most fun on of this series
That was SO gorgeous- the way you captured the farm town feeling, and the uplifting sounds- it made me so happy to listen to!
Thanks so much 😁

Thanks so much, that's really kind 😁
This is such an incredible composition and arrangement! The Piano sketch is beautiful, really reminds me a of Pat Metheny tune.
Hmmm I have to say that it is pretty amazing what you did here. The music trully enhances the story. Very, very good job
Thanks very much!
This is the first video of yours I've seen, and wow. This has single-handedly inspired me to try scoring and composing.
I love hearing that 🙂
That plucked acoustic loop was insane, what a gem, what library was that from may I ask?
Right?? Native Instruments Session Guitarist series 😁
@@ZachHeyde Thank you! (Edit: Oh no...there's a sale on 😅)

That was awesome. Thanks as always for sharing your process.
The best UA-cam channel ever I saw on UA-cam for beginning music composers

So Powell-like cutsie melody and harmony! Love it 🥰
the piano version was ok, and fine, and the arrangement brings more life into it.
Absolutely flawless! 👏
I get a lot of John Powell vibes from the final result!
Loooove Powell 😁
Looks so simple when an experienced composer is doing it. Well done man! :)
so sweet and professional solution/composition
This adorable track has so much character! Fits the footage like a glove!
Such a catchy tune! Great job!
Wow!! It's so beautiful, I would totally listen to this in my free time and imagine a pixar movie scene, its amazing how fast you were able to write this!
That was brilliant, Zach! Love the real-time composing series - keep 'em coming!
Really cool to see you in action! Great stuff!
That was great--so fun to watch!
One of the best pieces you made! Loved it :)
So easy, so great! Wow! Respect!🤩

Fantastic, Zach!

I was just about to mention that myself.
I was going to ask why not pitch the whole composition to the key of the church bells 🤣
Totally, good point!
Brilliant, liked & subbed 👍
Very Very Good
Amazing and inspiring video as always Zach! May I ask what you used to blow into for the woodwind parts?
the begginig it´s almost a brazilian genre called "baião" :)
i noticed you chose a key that doesn't include a G, which is the note the church bell makes at the end. was that on purpose? how do you interact with sounddesign that may have tuned sounds?
you're too underrated
Hi Zach! May I ask which MIDI keyboard you use? Thx!
Can you please do one were you recreate one of Joe hisasishi themes

How do you get the video into logic like that? Super impressive, I’m stoked to try it out myself!
If you have the video downloaded already you can create an empty audio track on logic and then simply drag and drop the video onto that track from your files!
Where do you find animation videos without music to practice scoring?
Try The Cue Tube!
Hi Zach, thank you for this awesome video, could you make a video about the beat mapping in logic ? best
Thanks Martin! The uncut version is up on my Patreon 👍🏻
Show off :P I envy your skills, grrr.
Wonderful video Zach! May I ask what that thing around your neck you blow into for the bassoon is?
It is a breath controller for expression. Basically a midi knob or a slider that operates by blowing air into it.
@@aboliguu1168 thought it might be something like that, thanks!
@@Musicman995 yeah no worries, it does look a bit weird so I too was confused at first.
You've probably answered this a million times but what is the device you have about your neck? Tremendous job on this, you're a big inspiration.
Thank you! TEControl breath controller 🙂
@5:00 what was the thing in your mouth? Is it some kind of controller. (Not a vocoder I think.)
Cool video.
Thought the registration would be free
what is that thing you are blowing?
Thats a tecontrol breath controller. He has a video posted about it.
I love how music can really bring life to even the little things in the video. I mean like, the glockenspiel chime at 9:05 when the farmer picks the carrot and smiles - so good man lol
Thank you, and good catch 😁
Fantastic. This reminds me so much of James Newton Howard. Like in “Dying Young”. I think of it as driving or traveling music. So good. ❤️🏳️🌈❤️🏳️🌈❤️
