About:
In this video, I am attempting to learn film scoring in 7 days as a music producer challenge. Can anyone become Hans Zimmer? This challenge allowed me to learn more about film scoring, orchestration, how to make music for movies and was a way to help me become a better music producer.
So what music challenge should I do next?! 😃
10 minute song challenge, make a basic song in just 10 minutes.
A blanks style video- where you make a song that your Instagram followers help vote the instruments, etc
Make music on a phone. BANDLAB ?
Score for aladdin movie
I don't know if you'd consider this a challenge but I'd be interested in seeing you build a song that is more Pop/minimalistic, maybe even in the style of a specific artist e.g. Billie Eilish, Lana del Rey, Taylor Swift. Or a country song.
This was SO fun to be a part of!! Also sorry for the jumpscare 😂😂
Hahaha maaaan that jumpscare 😂 but at least I'll forever remember the tip!!! Thanks again for your help on this one, it was so much fun!!
Way to dive in and learn! You did a fantastic job 🙌. You made so much progress in 7 days, we can’t wait to see how you continue to grow with film music!
YAY!!!! Go Aurelie! 🤗 What an epic collab with Zach too!
YESSSS! He saved my life on this one 😅
Welcome to the composing club! I actually did a challenge for a full 5 minute composition that's wa-themed! Great job doing the composition!!
Javiere!!! Been a while haha how are you doing? :) Thanks a lot!!
I love how smoothly you transitioned after hearing Zach's suggestion; it's incredibly supportive and encouraging for beginners like me ❤️.
Great job! You certainly challenged yourself. Thanks for showing your progress throughout the week. I hope you had a well deserved rest afterwards :)
It really cool to see the way you incorporated the feedback from zach !! The piece was amazing.
I think this is my favorite video of yours ever! I started doing music production seriously around the same time as you and have enjoyed trying to keep pace and learning from your approach. I also make an orchestral piece every couple months and could totally relate to the struggle but also learned some new things from watching. I’ve found that the orchestral work helps expand how I think about my non-orchestral work and, if nothing else, the strings and horns I sometimes use in that have definitely benefited. I hope you find the same! It was also nice to hear your name; it made this channel more relatable in a way that I wouldn’t have expected.
Great job! It works and keep on learning, I know it's harder than it looks!
great video - seeing how others are figuring things out is actually really helpful! Well impressed you did a fantastic job. Well done!
Wooow, I wasn't expecting it to be this good 😍
Keep going up Aurelie!
You make beautiful art & you inspire me so much, keep it up 🔥
Hahaha really?!?! 😍 So happy I impressed you then!! Thanks a lot for the extra kind words too, really motivating!
Excellent! The results are stunning, you did a wonderful job
Great job with the scene! Brava 👏🏻
What an amazing adventure! I remember going on a similar one back when I started composing, there’s so much to learn and you did such a great job 😁. Thank you for sharing your journey!
This was very inspiring and educational! Great idea!
Violins Some Cello, bit of piano, Trumpets, some drums, stereo panning, Lots and lots of reverb and bass, some optional synthesiser sounds, thats about it.
Oh if that was that simple 😅
@@musicbyplv I listed the ingredients, not the method. 😀👍
Hahaha 😂 thanks!!
Oh wow! That was an amazing journey! Congrats on completing this challenge 🎉🎉
Zach tips are just amazing! I will try something like this as soon as I have time 😂
This was incredible! Salute!
What a great video concept and result!😍
this type of challenges and content is insanely good! thank you for opening up our minds. Where can I listen to your music? cheers!
Wonderful video! Good job on challenging yourself to more challenges!
Thank you 🤗 Challenges are a great way to learn and grow so yeah! Would you do it too?
I would and I've thought of it before... thanks for asking!@@musicbyplv
Wow, that was great! Love the result. And very interesting to see how you approached the whole process. As someone who started music production only a few months ago, I always find it challenging to know how much research/learning is enough before putting it into practice.
Thank you so much, really great feedback to hear on the video and how much I showed of it! I wanted to make it entertaining but still wanted it to teach a couple things or two so yeah :)
Very nice video and what a challenge!! Really like the result. Keep Going !🔥
Thank you so much Kenji!!! 🥰🙏🏻
So fun!! You crushed this!
Thank you David!!!!! 🥰
Nice one, I was hired a few times for film scoring before, but I had a more intuitive approach to it since I was already working on orchestral music. I think going back to some of the basics you talked about may get my next film score to the next level!
What do you mean by intuitive? Would love to learn about your process too!! :)
I'm into film scoring as well and I just started doing music production! This is so cool! 😁
I love that video. Great result.
I started producing film score like music (as an amateur) during the pandemic and asked myself the same questions.
Overwhelming, intimidating, yes, it's exactly that. Just look at a score of John Williams ... and run away screaming! 😆
I had a huge listening experience (30 years) but little theoretical and technical production skills. Looking back I'm really happy how far I had come in about 3-4 years.
Zach is great. His videos are awesome and I used his feedback offer in the past.
Listening to film scores is the most valuable skill in my opinion. I helps imagining music to a given video or even a picture. And with more experience you will hear film music in your head without any visual help. Creating scores to non-exisiting films or scenes, just based on a simple story in your mind or even only yout emotions at a specific time is truly amazing.
One of the greatest UA-cam crossovers. Beautifully done! 🎉
i like this challenge. Lot to Learn in the process. Thank you
Exactly!! Would you do such a challenge too?? :D
You should try with a John Wick Movie as well, so many shots and Guns and all of that stuff, it’s so fun
This is my favorite of all your videos😍
Wow that means a lot! I'll try to make more in that style ;)
Amazing!❤😍
Thank you so much for the support as always ❤️🙏🏻 Really happy you enjoyed that one too!!
Considering you went from zero to hero in 7 days, I'm impressed!
this is super helpful, I am struggling through learning composing too 💀 Pls do more composing videos
Hey PLV music, awesome to see you going into music for visual media. I've truly been looking forward to this.
I have a bachelor's degree in music production and audio engineering but I am currently re-re-re-re-developing my artist career and I find amazing guidance from your videos. Super relatable, simply explained and demonstrated.
Hope to collab/connect someday. Please keep up the inspiring work.
Wow thank you so much for letting me know all this, it's amazing to hear 🥰 I'm grateful I can be a positive part of your journey! 🙏🏻 Will do 🫡
best video i watched ahaha, loved it
Awwww this makes the 30 hours editing the video worth it 😍 Thank you so much!! Super happy you enjoyed it!!!
Keep it up sis👌
I am also happy with the results 🔥👌
Dope!
Not bad at all, well done!
Wow, this was great! I doubt have MUSIO. I only have Hollywood Opus Edition. Fill I need MUSIO to do what you did in your video? Thanks ahead!
Hi Aurelie! And thank you for sharing these kind of challenges, and a good inspiration for me too 😊 don't stop doing that, exit the confort zone is a good way to learn a lot of things! I like to compose orchestral music, and I use logic too with BBC Orchestra (free version). I'm too curious to use your link and test the plugin. Well, I'm not an orchestrator, but you're free and the community to contact me for any tips or feedback ☺️
Aw you're welcome, I'm really happy to hear!! 🥰 I DO need to get BBC Orchestra yeah, I hope you'll love Musio too!!
yes, it's a beautiful piece, and describes perfectly the scene. it's a good match 😊.
Awesome work! I wanna try it too but i need to know how did you extract the original music from the scene without extracting the dialogue ?
Thank you so much!! Oh I used Lalal.ai to separate both and then re-exported a new version from PremierePro with just the footage and the dialogue :)
Awesome!
Thanks! 🥰 Ill try to make more videos like this one?
@@musicbyplv You're welcome! I think, do what makes you happy and inspires you positively, when you do it. As long as it's something that inspires people positively, i think it's cool!
Ah. that was fantastic. thank you.
My pleasure! I had so much fun making this one :)
Cool Video! I liked It!
So happy to hear that!! What was your favourite part? :)
I would like to write "All Video", because It's a big and fantastic Work :)
*In Pending for New Videos by You*
Oh wow thank you so much!! It was such a big effort to make this video, I'm glad it was appreciated that much :) 🙏🏻 I'm going back to weekly videos so Ill have a new one soon!
Should of used Kontakt one time purchase and loads of free libraries also use chord packs makes life easier
Its really a good score for the first time. Try using little bit of silence before that angelic pads part, which makes the track to blend with the scene better.Just an opinion 😊✌️
Yep !
@@laurentlabede i agree with your point
Ah yes we do tend to forget that silence IS also an instrument :) Good point!
Laurent, l'automation de tempo m'a fait beaucoup trop peur pour une premiere donc j'ai decide de rester "simple" mais c'est clairement quelque chose que je veux apprendre par la suite oui ;)
Yep, beaucoup d'infos en même temps ^^
The PLV adventures 😄😄👏👏👏👏💯🔥
Hahaha I should make it a series yeahhh! 🔥
@@musicbyplv I'm already waiting
Best youtuber ever!
Awww 🥰 Glad you liked this one!!!

@@musicbyplv i mean, its not a bad thing, didnt mean it that way. I've watched some videos of u only cuz i notice the change, so i know for a fact that it is useful haha sorry the way i put it
Oh haha got it, yeah definitely felt like you were annoyed by it but... I really do have to make those changes to see what works the best 🙈 Hope you still enjoyed the video!
