    Dude this is a great series. You have a great skill for teaching very clearly and concisely. I have learned a lot just from these two videos. I know this is a couple years old and maybe you've made new videos since then in a different series (just found your channel and these are the only two videos I've seen of yours so I will poke around), but I would love to learn more from you. You're a good teacher.

      Gabriel Robinson Hey Gabe. Unfortunately I didn't bring my laptop with me overseas so I can't. Happy to do so when I get back on Aug the 14th though.

    So you have 1 track and 2 cue points but that occupies 4 channels when you group the 3. I also use the APC and in other video you only do 1 cue point which leaves two columns of pads at the end. Any tips on what the end two columns are utilized for? Or should we have 2 cue points in each deck and occupy the entire thing on APC with decks.

    Is this approach used to filter out the kick to be able to mix 2 tracks? (such as fading in track 2 without kick, then removing kick track 1, then fading out track 1, then add kick track 2)

    Hello!
    Is there any way to assign a filter to one knob per channel, so can choose which track I want to filter?
    I am straggling a lot in order to find a solution for this.. Thanks mate!

    What about people who want to map KNOBS to the EQ settings so that they are FULL KILL like a DJ controller while ALSO being 0dB at 12 o'clock)?
    This doesn't seem to be possible in Ableton because editing the Min/Max values in Midi Map, then throws off 12 o'clock being 0db.

    Doesn‘t the limiter destroy the sound? 🤔

    Audio Effects > Audio effect Rack > Performance & DJ: there are better EQs for DJing and more cool stuff

  • @janez3316

    Good video but what i personally don´t like about this method is the fact how the EQ3 changes/colors the sound of the original track, at least in my case it always does. What about you?

    • @CollectiveIntelligenceMusic
      @CollectiveIntelligenceMusic  5 років тому

      Check out my latest video on invisible band splitting. Then put a utility on each (mid, high and low) that will give you less colouration.

    • @janez3316
      @janez3316 5 років тому

      yeah i know that, but i think it was worth mentioning that eq3 on his own is effecting the sound because regarding e. g. Ableton beginners, chance is that they are not aware of that. That is also the fact why i wouldn´t recommend using it for djing and instead "build" something neutral on my own like you did. @@CollectiveIntelligenceMusic

    • @CollectiveIntelligenceMusic
      @CollectiveIntelligenceMusic  5 років тому

      @@janez3316 Mmm yeah, the video is for beginners and I think EQ3 is more than enough to get started. Plus when I AB the difference, on my T7V I really don't recognise much of a sound difference at all. There can be phase issues with EQ3 for sure, but at a low level people really shouldn't be worried about that. By the time you realise and can hear the problems with EQ3 you should have the knowledge to find a work around like the one I described.

    • @janez3316
      @janez3316 5 років тому

      i agree :) Whats strange is that you don´t recognise much of a difference. On my hd 25-1 headphones the difference is really clear and noticeable. That´s the reason why i use eq3 only if i like what it does to the sound but never ever if i want an unchanged sound...But maybe i messed up some settings, i´ll have a look... @@CollectiveIntelligenceMusic

      Dreads were used by Celts, Britons and Saxons before they spread via sailors in the 15th and 16th century to the Carribean.
