I searched a long time before I found this. It was quick, concise, and correct and you offered more than one way to accomplish most of the tasks. Very well done! Thank you for sharing this.
I have been working in FL studio for years and recently switched to Ableton, this was exactly what I needed to learn. The basic manipulation shortcuts to fast track my workflow. Thanks a lot man 👍👍
Dude, you are so awesome. I've learned so much from you. Thank you so much for all the hard work. I appreciate everything you do. Please keep making tutorials like this. And as I've already said before on one of your videos, I've visited your country and I'm very jealous. I would give anything to live in NZ. When I come back I want to chill with you.
THIS WAS GREAT. Been doing Ableton for ~20 Months and feel pretty sufficient in it, but this video filled in a bunch of little gaps that have always confounded me. Appreciate it!!
God bless youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu, i do hate going to UA-cam to learn some things and stuff but when I do, you make it less painful.
Fantastic video, can you make more videos like this explaining the features of ableton live? This kind of info is really helping me learn ableton. Thanks:)
@@NatashaSallesSoprano heeey, it's a good question, actually to be honest I'm using both. I think both have ups and downs, logic is pretty good for midi edit, it feels easier and intuitive. But I like live built-in effects and instruments. When I switch I feel a creativity boost. So I would say it's worth learning both.
@@NatashaSallesSoprano I've been using both now. I think both have ups and downs, logic is a good midi editor and very intuitive. It feels easier. I like live effects and instruments. I feel like switching forces your brain to see things differently which is a good creativity boost. :) How is your experience so far?
@@BettinaCalmon I only have Live, I’ve been happy so far and I’m still a beginner, I might at some point feel like trying something else, but now that I’m short on money, I’ll learn as much as I can from Live before finally spending some money on another DAW. But thanks for the answer, if I ever try another DAW it will definitely be Logic.
@@NatashaSallesSoprano Yes, good thought. As I use logic forever, about 10 years, that's why I'm trying something new! :) I recommend going really deep on one daw.
This is the video I’ve been searching for! New to Live and work with audio samples from vinyl primarily. This video answers so many questions. Thanks for the post.
hey mate :) theres a trick to warp more easy....before u drag and drop a sample with a different tempo, make your project to the same tempo and, drop the sample and then ajust the tempo back to your original track tempo,...now ableton do set the warp markers on the right transients. enjoy, keep doing :)
Great video, real nice concise explanations, one thing il say is id like to see you doing a video using jazz, classic rock, or classic r&b loops instead of just techno noise loops like most tutorials.
Such an excellent tutorial. Can you please tell me how to selected an edited chunk of audio? When i select part of the audio, it only selects the first edit, as opposed to the edited section, if that makes sense. It seems that you automatically are able to select an edited section, whereas I must have some setting on that only allows me to select edit by edit...which is cumbersome, to say the least. Thank you!!
Can't belive I've been using Ableton for over 6 months and didn't know half this stuff. Usually just stick to midi but I've been getting more into audio latley
( just a mac note around 7.30 : to copy, it's holding down the option alt button; and to override the grid, it's the command button - through trial and error ! )
All very interesting but as someone who is new to Ableton today, are there any guides you would recommend on how to edit music in Ableton? Copying and pasting club beats around is all well and good but what about actual instruments, eq, reverb, etc?
Good tutorial as always, but I was hoping find info on how to repitch and rejig melodies, such as a baseline or a vocal line that I have just pulled sample pack. :)
I am wondering. Is it possible to automate sample pitch? And by that logic, make some kind of downwards or upwards going pitch change. Possibly for a break of sort?
At 23:00 you talk about warping a track with a different bpm to the main track. Could you not just speed up or slow down the new track to match the bpm of the main track? So 133 going to 140 you would slow it down by 5.26%. Is there any issues with doing it this way instead of your method and is it viable?
Yes, that works. But warp the sample and you'll never have to manually sync again if you decide to change the tempo or your tune contains any tempo changes :)
Hello, great video! congratulations!. Yoy cant adjust the general volume of a clip like fade in fade out? Just with automation?. Because If I want to use a piece of audio clip then in the live view the automation is not appropiated.

Thanks, man, I'm moving from Logic to Ableton and I need exactly this kind of info, straight to the point. Keep the good work!
If I may ask, why are you moving from Logic to Ableton? I ask this because I use Ableton Live but I was suggested to switch to Logic. I got curious.
