I've done several of these. Trick of the trade about these cars is you didn't have to unbolt the subframe. The way I've always done this was unbolt the transmission and you can literally slide it back to rest on the subframe and have enough room to remove the clutch. Saves you from having to drop it, it slide right back into place when done. I've done a few RSX clutch swaps and 8th Gen k24 Accords. Makes the job so much easier. I didn't even have to remove my starter, just unbolted it
hi, as someone whos doing it for the first time on a base rsx, im not looking forwards to dropping the subframe, do you just pull everything attached to the trans and push it in that crevice in the wheel well/?
Very nice I’m in the process of this right now. You removed the subframe the hard way. It’s so much easier to leave the brakes and front lower control arms attached to the knuckle and only drop the subframe and sway bar. Also the transmission only takes 1.6 quarts if you’re just changing fluid and 1.8 quarts for a complete overhaul. I cringed when you didn’t resurface the flywheel 😂 and when homie was tapping in the rear main seal in with a punch. Love the RSX do more videos
I'm having my clutch replaced now, and this video makes me appreciate where my money's going ($1600). 156k miles on my '03 RSX-S and I believe it's the first clutch, I don't drive track or anything though.
@@randy2.0kitt well I included the parts in that cost and you gotta account for the equipment to drop the tranny and the experience they bring to the table
@@randy2.0kittthat’s considering he has the time tools knowledge friends to help space to do it etc . I feel the same way but not everyone has the needed items .
Nice work man! I just got a 2001 camaro z28ss that I am beginning to pull the trans to rebuild it and put in a new clutch, i hope mine turns out as good as yours did!

Wish I knew that before hand haha. Either way was a good expirience to learn on

Dsm and rsx owner here .. I appreciate the rsx content too! Your knock sensor video on the rsx helped me 🙌🏻
Glad to hear! Sadly the rsx content never gets any love haha
@@MiguelDsm just bought a type S, your videos are the best content I’ve found for beginners like me 🤝
Fun bits of track day footage as well. Pretty sure this will help a lot of people to get the confidence to do it themselves.
I can see how it’s intimidating at first. I would go with my buddies to watch them do it before I decided to go for myself. Super cool experience

@@MiguelDsm thanks! I was lowering it today with some coilovers! 2gb swap is almost done!
Always try to stick with oem throw out bearings! I’m interested to see how well this one holds up.

1600$ for 3-5 hours of work yeah cool I guess how many hours did you work for that amount

Excelente contenido, siempre me inspira...
Buen video💪🏻
Can you please tell me, does the gas tank has a way to open it from the bottom? I have an Acura rsx, need to get the diesel out of it.
Shoulda went with exedy race clutch...world of a difference.
Wanna see another DSM video what’s up with the fuel leak. Is it fixed.
you should put your sunroof down. Would help with your Aerodynamics, especially on a track.
That exedy throwout bearing is trash
Ran it on my k24 8th gen civic
And it started making noise less than 6months
Always go OEM throwout bearing
