No kidding. I saw her a month ago, and I was just blown away with this song. It was fucking magical, like nothing else I've ever experienced (no, i wasn't on drugs). My first concert, and it was beyond perfect!
***** Nice. Bet she got you in the mood for more gigs When I saw her, I thought she played her set great and there were funky visuals playing behind her too that made it so great. She's quite shy on stage, but that's just who she is and the type of music she plays resonates with that.
"We all think that we're invincible or that we are invisible, realistically we're somewhere inbetween. We all think that we're nobody but everybody is somebody else's somebody'....there it is; that vulnerable wisdom slovenly sung in that haphazard, Seattle-like kind of way; all wrapped up in authencity. Ya gotta love her.
+Emily Snider Completely agree. My journey to work is about 40 minutes and I just have the album on each way. Have done for the past couple of weeks without even beginning to think I might try something different. Intelligent, often funny, often profound. As for 'Kim's Caravan', I think it is one of the most powerful pieces of music ever. Some people would probably say that was an exaggeration. But they're wrong.
Yes! I've made it my mission to introduce her to everyone I know. She has me in a music trance. The lyrics to Kim's Caravan sound like the perfect artist statement to me. I'm still riding the Courtney high.
I cant get over how good this song is. It captures a feeling ive felt before but never really thought was felt by other people even less expressed by someone else. Thats as good as it gets.
Oh my gosh. This is what I've been waiting for. Someone that can make a whole music video based on the lyrics. It's great to see that. She is just so creative and talented.
I dont usually take too much notice of music videos, but after watching this one, I was thinking the same thing...the imagery matches the lyrics and mood of the song perfectly.
Fuckin hell. When I finally stumbled on her music, it was a breath of fresh hair. It reminds me of my late 80's/ early to mid 90's alternative rock bands that I love so much. Some of her songs for example remind me strongly of Sonic Youth and the Pixies.
+Mike Keenan That's exactly what I was thinking. Her songwriting is out of this world. Listening to Depreston for the first time and really thinking about the writing process was a profound experience. She can make everyday events a really serious and revealing experience.
I truly believe this is one of her best tracks. Definitely the best on the new album. The narrative is superb, as well as the dynamics. I saw her perform this live with her three piece and during her solo I could have sworn I saw Kurt Cobain's spirit take over her.
Her best track by far. She is in Nick Cave territory here - no bad thing in my book. I saw her in Camden last week and it's great to see the emergence of such a genuine and original talent.
Captivated by her melancholic genius and and there's a melodious drawl in her voice thst's damn near hypnotizing; makes sadness possible, bearable maybe delightful even. Can't quiet put my finger on it...something in the water. And yeah she's cool like Kurt. Small Poppies is my second to this one.
dunno if you guys cares but if you guys are bored like me atm you can watch all the new movies on Instaflixxer. Have been binge watching with my gf these days xD
wow, I love the dark colours and cinematography this is so grouse COURTNEY you just have a way of encapsulating everything about Melbourne, this is just a masterpiece.
Musically she reminds me of rowland howard. Lyrically she's in her own. Translucent, nowhere for anything to hide. Everytime Iisten to this track it brings me to tears, her ability to draw the truth from her listeners is incredible. And what I am taking from her is... Lifes beauty of simplicity
This is probably my favorite song of hers. There's something about the bluesy grimness of it that just makes it my favorite for whatever reason . (Tied with the song right after it,Boxing Day Blues)
It feels like a homage to any Jeff Nichols’ movie (Shotgun Stories, Take Shelter and Mud) and Into the Wild with the trailer/caravan shots. I didn’t think the experience of listening to this song could get any better, but it just did. I love rural cinematography. It’s beautiful and breathtaking. Evokes the feeling you get when you watch Into the Wild. Nature is beautiful, but a bitch too. Hands down, my favorite video this year.
I just bought this album and I’m stoked! This might just be my favorite song by her but it’s hard to choose just one. She’s a great musician and a heroine imo for bringing this kind of music back to life
Saw her live a couple of weeks ago and it was really amped up throughout. I loved it, she really went for it. This song is maybe the closest to the live sound on the album.
that shot where she's in the water with the riff playing quietly behind is just the fucking best thing ever. the aquatic loving side of me just loved that so much
Such a fabulous song writer and musician. I adore this song, and the video with all those real faces is simply wonderful, and very compelling. I look forward to seeing the band perform in Belfast Ireland. May 25th, very much indeed.
when the world feels like it's closing in and I can't stand another day, I listen to this song. I listen, and I feel strong enough for another day.
This song deserves a Grammy!
One of the Best lyrics
Take what you want from me
D'ACCORD !!!
"I am just a reflection of what you really wanna see, so take what you want from me." Very insightful lyrics at this moment in space and time.
One of my favorite songs from the album. I surely have to catch her live next time she's in my country. Best new artist by a mile, imo.
+Tomnedreb saw her live at the start of the month, she was great! didn't play this one though
No kidding. I saw her a month ago, and I was just blown away with this song. It was fucking magical, like nothing else I've ever experienced (no, i wasn't on drugs). My first concert, and it was beyond perfect!
Can I ask if she played any new material? Just hope she will release some new stuff soon.
***** Nice. Bet she got you in the mood for more gigs
When I saw her, I thought she played her set great and there were funky visuals playing behind her too that made it so great.
She's quite shy on stage, but that's just who she is and the type of music she plays resonates with that.
Sorry, she didn't play anything new. Although, she played a couple of songs from the first EP.
one of the best songs I've heard in years
"We all think that we're invincible or that we are invisible, realistically we're somewhere inbetween. We all think that we're nobody but everybody is somebody else's somebody'....there it is; that vulnerable wisdom slovenly sung in that haphazard, Seattle-like kind of way; all wrapped up in authencity. Ya gotta love her.
Authenticity...corrections :))
I just found Courtney last night and have been listening to her every waking moment. I'm so enamored with her. She's the real deal.
+Emily Snider Completely agree. My journey to work is about 40 minutes and I just have the album on each way. +Emily This is the best song of 2015!

I cant get over how good this song is. It captures a feeling ive felt before but never really thought was felt by other people even less expressed by someone else. Thats as good as it gets.
Courtney's ultimate guitar sound. It captures my soul and takes it to a better place. Thank you I owe you one or three ✌️🙃
Oh my gosh. This is what I've been waiting for. Someone that can make a whole music video based on the lyrics. It's great to see that. She is just so creative and talented.
this little tune alone could be the singer-songwriter masterpiece of our time.
not to mention all the rest of her music.
This video is perfect. Sublime and gorgeous and dark and pensive. Just like the song.
I dont usually take too much notice of music videos, but after watching this one, I was thinking the same thing...the imagery matches the lyrics and mood of the song perfectly.
Courtney Barnett is an artist that just gets better every time I hear her. Nothing else to say except amazing. Absolutely fucking amazing.
Criminally underrated
Fuckin hell. When I finally stumbled on her music, it was a breath of fresh hair. It reminds me of my late 80's/ early to mid 90's alternative rock bands that I love so much. Some of her songs for example remind me strongly of Sonic Youth and the Pixies.
+Barney Os. Musically, she's a throwback to the 90s; lyrically she's timeless.
+Mike Keenan That's exactly what I was thinking. Her songwriting is out of this world. Listening to Depreston for the first time and really thinking about the writing process was a profound experience. She can make everyday events a really serious and revealing experience.
Agreed...her song writing is just mesmerizing and her music added to these lyrics is just hypnotic! Cheers
I truly believe this is one of her best tracks. Definitely the best on the new album. The narrative is superb, as well as the dynamics. I saw her perform this live with her three piece and during her solo I could have sworn I saw Kurt Cobain's spirit take over her.
what was THAT like?
me pone los pelos ' de punta ' Impresionante tema de Courtney !! Cuanta emoción ( y dosis de 'rabia' !! )
I had the honour of seeing her as the opening act for Foo Fighters.
Her best track by far. She is in Nick Cave territory here - no bad thing in my book. I saw her in Camden last week and it's great to see the emergence of such a genuine and original talent.
+Alex Wroth yea I heard Nick too.
Small Poppies is my favorite by far, then this song.
So friendly people in this video and in Australia. I think people in this country living in Paradise. Australia - Paradise
my new favorite song to listen to whilst I fall into despair
Morporkshortman Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahaha, i listen to it with that exact purpose as well
I too have fallen and cannot get up and now this is playing
Captivated by her melancholic genius and and there's a melodious drawl in her voice thst's damn near hypnotizing; makes sadness possible, bearable maybe delightful even. Can't quiet put my finger on it...something in the water. And yeah she's cool like Kurt. Small Poppies is my second to this one.
This is the beat Music Video I have seen in years.
Brilliantly dark
I couldn't have put it better.
One of the most powerful songs in the last 20 years. If you aren't crying by 4-5 minutes... sorry.
Im overwhelmed with goosebumps, such a powerful song.
"We all think that we're nobody but everybody is someone else's somebody" :'-(

This song is absolutely amazing !!!! She just gets better and better .....
original & beautiful, cheers CB
Wow, this is so different from the rest of her stuff, but so evident of how talented and versatile she is.

Welcome to East Coast, small town Australia. Perfectly captured.
I've seen live music. A lot. This song, live, was other-worldly
Well I have had 3 tunes from this album on my current playlist.....this tune is stunning! Buying the rest!!! What a talent!
Excellent song from an excellent album....ace video as well. Love this girl!
This is probably my favorite song of hers. There's something about the bluesy grimness of it that just makes it my favorite for whatever reason . (Tied with the song right after it,Boxing Day Blues)

+riemster37 Cities are just something people invented to stop them feeling insignificant. Real artists like Courtney can see the lie.
All I wanna say is... ❤

Wow. Great song, nice departure in tone for Courtney Barnett. Very atmospheric.
Waiting for my CD to arrive :) Thank you for the beautiful music Courtney
Genius.
Ive just found out she's finally coming in my country this june and came here to cry
Saw her live a couple of weeks ago and it was really amped up throughout. I loved it, she really went for it. This song is maybe the closest to the live sound on the album.
She's something else live. Going to see her later this month (which will be my third time). Love the relationship she has with her guitar.

Such an amazing artist - cannot believe I have not heard her before now!
This song is incredible
Sublime, unsurprisingly.
Masterpiece.

Wonderful.
Real music. Thank you.
I just got tickets to see her at Festival Hall and am so so so excited. Wanted to see her for years and I've finally got tickets!!
Haunting and Brilliant, Courtney's songs have so much to discover between the lines.
I see a dead seal on the beach. The old man says he's already saved it three times this week. Guess it just wants to die.
Such a fabulous song writer and musician. I adore this song, and the video with all those real faces is simply wonderful, and very compelling. I look forward to seeing the band perform in Belfast Ireland. May 25th, very much indeed.
What a beautiful song.
Couldn't get into the record as a whole except for this song which is amazing.
Just caught her in Portland, Maine and she’s coming to NH on my birthday. Thank you, Courtney!
