    Here's the video breaking down how the reactor works: • I turn Plastics into F...
    Feel free to ask any questions, I'll be reading every comment!
    I believe with the world wide crisis we are facing now, we require a world wide solution. And this is why I believe we need decentralized devices such as this Reactor. Think about it, even if there is just 1 reactor in every community, that will put a huge dent in plastic waste and pollution.
    Due to this, I do not wish to make a singular specialized Reactor, once I master and complete this one, I want to make all different types, of all different scales and sizes.

    Hi Jab, I came across your interesting and amusing channel. I live in Denmark and the "the next big thing" is pyrolysis, especially organic "waste" from agriculture (straw, manure, from livestock, fiber from biogas production). Danish agriculture emits 10.5 mill ton CO2 equivalents which equates to 22% of total emissions. Half of this can be turned into what they call bio carbon, which is made into little pellets that get ploughed into the ground to improve soil. The rest is to be turned into hydrocarbons such as "green" jet-fuel (kerosene). The potential to remove CO2 from doing this is 22-25% of entire nation's emissions! What remains from sewage treatment and sedimentation from it is being pyrolysised creating a totally energy efficient waste water treatment that exceeds 100% as heat is utilized in district heating. I hope they might do the same in the US of A. Full documentation has been published by DTU (Danish Technical University). Another "experiment" was done with tyres but was temporarily closed down due to neighborhood complaining of smell (burnt rubber).

    Your way you descried the smell of that foul devil soup made me laugh out loud, keep up your experiments.. doing new things, exploring new possibilities eventually lead to some unforeseen breakthrough.

    I wonder if we can use the oil as lubricant for engines

    So what would happen if you did a random trash mix? Shredded up food waste, tires, plastic, cardboard, grass/wood chips, etc? In a similar way to how trash would be in a landfill. I know some companies are already using plasma pyrolysis gasifiastion with municipal city waste, but how would your design do?

    • @naturejab
      @naturejab  2 роки тому

      It would make all the same typical products, especially if there is plastic in there. Depending on the water content, a lot more water than oil will be produced

    It'd be awesome if we could do this on an industrial scale at landfills, and then just bury the carbon. We'd get energy, and it would act as a kind of carbon sequestration. Just straight up put it back in the ground. That would also separate glass and metals by default. Possibly a recyclable byproduct. Love your content. Please keep it up, and be careful.

      but you could use the carbon for alot more so putting it in ground is a waste

      Exactly, I love this idea a lot! Carbon sequestration whether it's buried, used in construction, or fertilizer. Thanks mate!

    One of these days you got to do pyrolysis on your pyrolysis oil and see what it just cracks into gas or lighter oil

    In my view, pyrolysis of especially of plastic (and manure/dung) and things emitting methane should be done all over the world and especially in developing countries where poor people can make a livelihood out of collecting plastic and being paid accordingly. Landfilling should be ended everywhere and that would the real start of the cyclical economy.
