In this video I sat down with my friend and fellow youtuber @JonSteine to talk about our Sony FX30's Jon picked the Sigma 18-50 f2.8 for his while I went for the Tamron 17-70 f.28

Sure thing - It's a bit of a mixed bag when it comes to the lenses we used.
For the conversation the straight angle is the Sigma 18-50 f2.8 And the second angle is the Tamron 17-17f2.8
B-Roll shots: The ones with the letterbox/black bars are shot on the Remus 45mm 1.5x anamorphic, Some b-roll of me are shot on the Sigma mentioned earlier and a vintage 40mm Minolta.

At the time stamp, that's a new lens the Remus Blazar 45mm 1.5X anamorphic lens. I have it mounted on my FX30 with a metabones speedbooster (the lens covers a full fram esensor) I hope to make a video about it soon as I've familiarized myself with it a bit more.
You don't automatically have more resolution on a full frame, the FX30 has more resolution than the FX3 and Sony A7S3.

Thanks for this video! Lots of UA-camrs are pushing full-frame while APSC actually rocks. I have the FX30 and the Sony A6700. They both do 10-bit video. I shoot in SLOG3 and the quality is awesome. I love the cheaper and smaller lenses. Yeah, I am a fan!
What do you think are the pros and cons of having these cameras coming from someone like you using both?
@@JoshConnectMedia Are you asking for a comparison between FX30 and A6700? Or just pros and cons of using APSC?
@@BehindTheNeedle Can I ask you if 10bit 422 is only in Slog3 or can be chosen in any other color profile? In Canon R7-R6II for ex, 10bit 422 is only in CLog3.

It definitely is! How's the ZV-E1 working out for you? It was announced the day after I ordered my FX30. I was considering canceling my order for a bit.

I shoot mainly videos so the difference is absolutely noticeable
In general i love Nikons even for video production but the market in Dubai requires Sony. That’s the only reason

I see, my area is also fairly Sony dominated.
For video I'd go with the FX30 over the 6700 because of the fan and the reliability it adds. You're also getting a second card slot that can be used for backups, proxies or just longer shoots.
Overall it's just better designed for videography than the a6700
I always end up with mixed feelings after videos like these. Because there are so many misconseptions about sensorsizes. Some comments already pointed em out, like it has nothing to do with resolutions or even low-light capabilitys. The modern camera world is all about full frame and at the same moment misinformation gets spreaded about "weaknesses" of crop sensors.
I liked the talk of you two and i don't expect anyone to be a full on pro on all of these tech topics but maybe be a bit more caucious about putting out vague or even misleading statements in that regard.
Interesting, what misleading statements do you mean?
Sorry but its been a while since I watched the video. But from memory I think the main "topic" was that just because it isn't full frame doesn't mean its garbage.
