One thing I know about this tank is the design team was executed. Edit: No this is not real this is a joke I was quoting Spokston and he later confirmed he was just making a joke.

Or maybe it suffered the same fate as sino-american Jaguar... that being PRC proving that market doesn't lead to democracy. Shockingly-_-
It sad. China couldv been great if the CCP wasnt such a destructive force. Everyone was actually excited in 2010 about China competing with America, and actually forcing the US to become better. But instead, China got XiJinping in 2013 and degenerated into some authoritarian dystopia.
There is a version of the same tank in WOT but it is slow, has a low reload speed on a deadly accurate gun, and, of course, no missiles. It looks better here than it does there.
This is one of the research projects of China's second-generation main battle tank. The project started in 1967 and accelerated after the Sino-Soviet conflict in 1969. The first prototype was made in 1970, and the factory code was 122. This tank used hydraulic transmission, hydraulic control and hydro-pneumatic suspension system (so called "three-hydraulic vehicle"). But these technical performance requirements exceeded China's industrial capabilities, and this prototype was quickly abandoned in favor of more reliable torsion bar suspension, mechanical transmission, and mechanical control. The program was completely discontinued in 1974. Also, while I know this is a joke, I want to point out that the engineering team for this project was not executed😅 They began work on the development of WZ-1224 shortly after.
They were executed From the WZ-122 page on the tank encyclopedia "The project was ultimately canceled after engineers were executed, being deemed traitors during the purges of the Cultural Revolution" there were new engineers on the development of the -4, but the original enginners on the 1 2 and 3 were killed, so yeahh you may wanna point that out

The entire development process was documented in a 2017 Ordance Knowlege article written by one of the project manager on the team. No one was executed, and many from the project went on to work on ZTZ-80/ZTZ-88. In fact, from the article, one of the few positive outcome of joint-project 24 (WZ-122, WZ-132, WZ-212, WZ-532, 120mm gun and hydraulic suspension) is that is provide experience for young designer to work on projects without constraints, as later army project are extremely conservative for the next few decades. The chief designer, 张锐生, for WZ-122 is actually very famous in that he became a huge advocate for tank turbine engines development as well as pushing for merkava-like front mounted engines layout for WZ-123 (later bacome Type 99). The only designer that did die was the lead for WZ-532 (Type 63 APC replacement that never was), but because of execution, but becase of the test vehicle capsized on lake during fording tests, which took his life as well as several other crewmembers.
The 122 project went on to become the 1224, which is Leopard 2 styled turret on 122 hull then it just become the reference for later modern Chinese tanks If I'm not wrong, but I really love the design of the 122...just an elongated T-62

Yea, this... thing. You should make a "historically accurate" video about it, it would be very, very long. The model we have in game is an absolute abomination - it's less historical than the one in World of Tanks, and that's quite an "achievement". It has a couple of problems: - It's name is wrong - I'll skip all the crap that's after the number, it's kinda complicated, but I believe it shouldn't be there. But what *definitely* shouldn't be there is the word "Object" - it's a Soviet/Russian designation for prototypes, it never existed in the Chinese nomenclature. It should just be called "122" or "122-1". - And why I said "or" above? Well, that's the best part - we don't even know which variant of the vehicle it is! The vehicle named "122" had several iterations, but the ones that we are interested are the first three: "122", "122-1" and "122-2". The first variant, the "122" was the most advanced one with hydropneumatic suspension, hydraulic transmission and hydraulic controls (hence it's also referred to as "triple hydraulic"), it shares the turret with the in-game model. It however had a different hull, as the variant in game has "mechanical controls". The second variant, the "122-1" was the simplest one with mechanical suspension, transmission and controls (this one is thus called "triple mechanical"), I believe it is the closest to the in-game model as both the hull and the turret fit, but the big issue is that the original 122-1 had the ATGM launchers removed. The third variant, the "122-2" was the mix between the two previous models, and it's also the WoT variant. It had mechanical controls and ATGM launchers, but it also had an autoloader, so the turret looked different.
I wouldn't call it an "absolute abomination" since the only major issue with the model is it being fitted with the ATGM launchers, since the model overall is the 1221. The 1222 variant is a questionable thing, it is merely speculated that the single remaining tank with the autoloader is the 1222, since there's no other tank that could fill the gap between the 1221 and 1223.
@@dragioner4164 But still, it's just about as "historical" as their vision of the Panther II. And as for what it should be in the game, I think it should be the 122 - it has ATGMs which make it more interesting, and as far as I understand, the differences in the hull design are purely internal - hydraulic transmission and hydropneumatic suspension.
I'm still a firm believer we need a tanks only mode. I'm 89% sure it would get more attention than standard Ground RB, because revenge bombing is the least fun thing in the world

if you look at the UFP its more angled than the T62 which I can imagine has to do a lot with its better survivability
I Just finished smoking crack and spookston posts a video. Wonderfull
Somehow also 8.3 despite it having several advantages over the T-62
It's like playing the T62M1 or T55AM1 shooting atgms without having to reload the missile after failing to one shot a tank with the main gun
"all i know about this tank is the design team was executed"
another great day in cathay
You mention that the designers of this tank got executed? Certified Bing Chilling moment.
9.2 sec reload? this thing reloads for like 13 sec in WoT.. damn
The snail is really taking the piss now, they really must get off to our suffering...
2:08 are we not gonna talk about the blind IKV on the right??
TECHNICALLY the shimakaze is a squadron vehicle outside of the big three but well, its a boat and like 5 people play naval
yugoslavia did a similar thing to some of theirs since they could not get the gun launched ones from the soviet union, you can occasionally find images of them but they were widely used
Don’t know if it’s just that you cut out most of the matches or that you’re a bit more “serious” but you seem to be doing better in this than BoTimeGaming. Also, excellent choice in music my friend! Absolutely love the C+C Generals sound track! XD
pov: t62 had a kid with the bmp2m
Execution is one way to stop leaking classified stuff on the Forums. But a very dark history part of it.
"Bulletproof T-Six Two, Tank-62, Armour bulletproof, fragmentation immune, explosive proof, bulletproof armor, MBT, with Missile x4 Anti-tank, and mega-velocity anti-bulletproof cannon."
2:00 Decent damage
2:05 RICOCHET FROM THE FOIL
LMAO
We still need a PTL02 video.
fancy star embossed front mudguards. the atgms being mounted forward a bit like that rather than on top would hopefully mean that if they blow due to enemy fire the turret front armor should help protect you better than thin roof armor, but reloading these would be a bit tougher
Bruh man forgot about the Firecrest's existence
2:04
*My pure and utter anger*
It's design team was executed.
That's enough information for me
Bruh the design team was executed, that's deep asf
5:00 just what top tier is now shame
Before we thought it would be fun
Love the WZ305.
wait... putting ATGM's and modern sensors on old tanks seems like a great idea. There are plenty of vehicles made from old tank hulls but upgraded with autocannons and sensors after all. A number of tanks have had ATGMs. Centurions and AMX13s come to mind. I wonder how efficient this would is vs buying/making light vehicles.
it looks like a Battlemaster from Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour
The AMX-30B2 feeling very obsolete all of a sudden...
Spookston: wait, Chinese tanks are good?
Always have been.
7.3-7.7 gets only uptiered now. i have not gotten a downtier in my 7.7 in a week
0:20 dude it literally has a t55 turret.
