The German SPz 12-3 LGS is the latest battlepass reward tank in War Thunder, and I think it's quite fun. It might not be the fastest, but its armament more than makes up for it.

The gun has a .50 cal attached to use as a ranging tool, it has the same ballistics as the cannon, so you can range your targets with a single shot, if it connects you can fire
same logic as the THING... you know, the THING that the marines liked.... the THING that was so dumb firing it blew out all the windows in the base they were testing at.... that THING...
The Ontos bazooka wagon
It has *similar* ballistics as the cannon, meaning at ranges past 500-600m, the tracer no longer gives you an accurate range estimate. This is the case for every recoilless rifle that has a ranging .50 cal attached to it in the game.
IIRC it has the same ballistics as the HESH round, so it won't be accurate for the HEAT-FS which I believe has a higher muzzle velocity. Still useful to fire a couple rounds to clear obstructions for the round though, I just wouldn't count on it for ranging.
@@commandoepsilon4664 The tracers have a muzzle velocity of 525 m/s, HEAT has 503 and HESH has 498. None of these match, they're just good enough till 500m, anything past that you're better off rangefinding (which also has its limits).

the btr-80A isn't very devious but can be very annoying for players expecting an easy fight, they're probably not wrong to feel that way tho lmao

Hey Spook, you should play the Semovente 75/46 M43. It's a deeply overshadowed italian tank destroyer which can deliver an heavy punch but it's deeply ignored the potential it has. I am not gonna surrender in proposing this.

This is my 76th attempt at asking spookston to play the t32e1. This thing is okay in my opinion.
A "Discussion" video on weaponized ram accelerators might be interesting, not something you hear nearly as much about as electromagnetic guns but able to reach similar velocities.

It'd be cool if Gaijin added the correct amount of backblast for recoilless rifles, i.e. make them artificial dust storm generators. The Ontos would especially be that, but it'd be cool visually and it'd be a neat way of balancing them I think. Like, sure the rifle is small and only sticks out a bit, but once it fires it's basically a beacon to anyone and everyone.

There are indeed 2 super heavy casemate TD's in game.... and they are the Jagdtiger, Obj.268, T95 Tutel, Tortoise, Ho-ri... some might even argue the Foch.

On the topic of the Leo2's looks: I love that thing. Everything about it. The hull, the huge turret, the wedges, the long gun with the A6 and later models.

I honestly love the look of the leopard 2, but my favorite leopard model is tied between the 2K and Strv 122B. My favorite MBT on aesthetics though is the type 90

The Leo 2a4 is more appealing imo but the Leo2a5 and merkava mk3 and 4 look very nice frontally due to the short 120mm
Spookston voices a very unpopular opinion on good looking MBTs. I assume he thinks that the flat bois like the Leclerc and Abrams look good but they are definitely the ugly duckings in my opinion. Then there are the Challenger and Ariete which look forgettable.

Another interesting fact about the ZIS-30 is that it was one of the first attempts by the Soviet Union to create a self-propelled anti-tank gun using readily available components. It's also definitly one of the funniest russian anti tank vecichles.
3:30 I dont think Leo 2A5/A6 are ugly, a giant turret is the new meta in MBT design but If I have to choose one for aesthetics alone it has to be the Merkava MK IV.
Only reason it’s getting bad press is because it’s the only vehicle on the German tree within that BR range that can’t point-and-click-oneshot everything. Any other techtree I could see this being 7.0+
XD That's almost exactly what I just replied to someone else's comment with. It certainly would seem underwhelming compared the German TT vehicles at that BR. Hopefully Gaijin won't move it lower though...
That sounds about right. I've been playing at Germany 8.0+ a lot recently, so I'm more than used to NOT just clicking on things an expecting them to get nuked in one shot. So I actually really enjoy this thing. The grind for it was hell, but I'm damn glad to finally have it.
I've been hearing bad things about it, but when I tried it for myself I just couldn't help but feel like those people were playing a completely different vehicle. Either that, or they were stereotypical German mains who think anything that doesn't have a railgun and concrete bunker for armor is "bad." Or people were trying to play it as a light tank when it's more like a viable tank destroyer at 6.7.

It has less armour than the standard one, but it's much more mobile and it can go very fast backwards which is surprising for a Russian tank

It's not. Only modern Russian vehicles have bad reverse. Ww2 vehicles have decent reverse or very good reverse

Literally the only WW2 Russian tanks with good reverse I can think of are the KV-1S, KV-85, IS series, SPAA, and some artillery guns such as the Su-152
Don’t worry, as a regular Tortoise player, they have a lot going for them. First of all you get an entire village of crew. Second, the gun can traverse really far to the sides. So I don’t call them helpless, just bad at judging when to pull out into a firing position.

I love the sound effect at 1:01 so damn much, u already know I expect it in every derp gun tank video at this point. Love the other effects too
It's also worth mentioning that the 20mm is missing a significant portion of its elevation. Realistically, it can elevate all the way up to a little notch on the turret roof. That being said, this nerf is likely intentional due to the fact that if it had more than +13, it would collide with the recoilless rifle.
Leopard 2 looks crazy good fully camo-netted-out like they usually are in active combat but without any camo like in the game it looks a lil weird I´ll have to agree.
Yea. The Leo 2 is one of the best looking MBTs. Unlike most other western tanks its not just two rectangular cuboids stacked on top of each other.

Both are still horrendously undertiered, give PUMA it’s spikes and move it to 11.0. Move 2S38 to 11.3 because it’s Russian bias IFV

I know why people thought that way, the recoilless rifle has a really hard time OSK tanks in the test drive, so I was concerned too.
Until I unlocked the beast a few days ago myself, Oh boy. This thing rips and tears. Be it the recoilless rifle just OSKing everything, or the 20 mike just shredding light tanks (AMLs) that rush me right after I fire.

You should try the fiat 6614 or the AUBL/74 now. Alternatively, if you're experiencing a peculiar attraction to goblin tanks, the R3 T106 FA (the one with 2 recoiless rifles).
1:30 low tier god reference is exactly how I feel towards players that drive backwards
The M113 TOW has the gunner sticking out the top, and the M113s had their amphibious ability removed because "checks have to be done before entering the water", meanwhile all these recoilless rifle vehicles going about with their gunner and/or loaders controlling the weapon using mind powers.
Casual HMS BTR floating on mind power, but the American tank needs to pass city inspection, moment.
Fun video, you did great, but my personal favourite today is that CAS IQ storm with the lamp post, the best thing that I've seen today on UA-cam. The vehicle itself is great, it just need a skilled commander. The statement about the Leopard2...I don't know what is your problem with that, especially if we consider the 2A4 has a similar size turret than the Abrams. I think it is peak German design and of course enginiering, those tanks look very serious. But it is just personal taste I'm assuming. Interestingly enough a friend of mine also query about the size of the turret. Can I ask for a Radkampfwagen90 gameplay pls?

Bruh, what are you talking about? That thing is fun as hell! A dedicated ATGM vehicle at 6.7?! That thing is stupid fun, especially when you can get into a 'hull down' position with only the binoculars sticking out and snipe Tiger II's and IS's with it. It's so satisfying.

There are 3 "superheavy" casemates. Tortoise, T28/95 and Jagdtiger. Because "superheavy" isn't really a term and just highlights heaviest, most impractical and expensive of vehicles.
The price tag of superheavy vehicles is what MBTs inherited from them;)

Oddbawz played with it a couple of days ago and complained about how slow the turret traverse was and that the shell for the "rifle" was very slow
that ricochet was massively lucky, since heat doesnt care about the speed lost with that ricochet
