Your tutorial really helped me get my audio set up correctly, I've watched so many other videos, but they just lacked something that yours had and helped me get it just right. Thank you! :)
Love your videos man. I've been able to record my first youtube video without sounding terrible thanks to your teachings. (I still do not sound great, but improved a lot). Suggestion to the next (if you do something like a step by step again): leave some parts of the audio unedited, just so that us viewers can notice the differences in the adjustment (you can warn us beforehand). The theoretical explanations are superb, and an example of 'the real stuff' will improve it manyfold. Cheers!
What’s up! If you haven’t be sure to watch my VM setup guide. What we do is setup the default communication source on our computer and use that source in the obs sources window
Hey dude, I really appreciate your content. But I have a doubt: i've done your EQ APO tutorial (and really improved my mic) so does matter setup filters on OBS ? Or just EQ with reaper plugins do all the job ? Btw sorry for bad english, viewer from Brazil here :D
I have no idea how to even monitor to my audio without the horrible feedback in my headphones. I used your "[2021] How-To Setup VoiceMeeter Banana Correctly !!!" video and setup everything as you did.
Thank you for making this video and others, your guides have been my OBS setup bible for months. You've made my life so much easier. It's amazing that my $640.00 budget gaming pc puts out way better quality than most big streamers on Twitch who will have custom pc's made from $10k to as highest I ever seen was $35k. Truly amazing.
That’s exactly what I set out to accomplish. In helping people better understand the details of the setup you can really get a lot out of your budget setup
@@TheFranswahStudio Since yesterday, I try as your suggestion and overall are great excepted Noise Gate I'm using ReaFir -> Subtract FFT 2K. With a cheap mic my background noise is -46 dBA (seen in OBS). The FFT size is matter, the default 4K cause reverb when a long talk while 2K is better but the reverb appears sometimes. Do you have any suggestions in my case ? THANKS
@@SasukeDG its hard to use this plugin as a noise removal. I don’t have many suggestions specifically for adjusting the FFT size and aligning it for your needs. You could use the noise reduction and then a downward expander to reduce the noises that are being created by it.
I've been struggling with Equalizer APO. I have a Blue Snowball ICE. I've attempted to open the configurator and install the needed APO. But after I installed either LFX/GFX and SFX/MFX, neither of them works. So I tried SFX/EFX, but it won't install. It automatically reverts to SFX/MFX.
I’m sorry to hear this man. This is something we run into every once in awhile and sometimes just re-installing APO helps. Ot doesnt seem to fully reset installation types without re-installation
Hi @TheFranswah Studio thank you for the reply. 🙏🏻 Actually, I got it working again. I re-installed it and then reset the settings. I have no idea why it started working, but I’ll just go with it 😅🤷🏼♂️ Now with it working, it definitely makes a difference with the mic audio. Thanks again for your videos 🙂

Hey. Sorry to ask a question you probably get often, but I just am not sure what I should be doing. I just followed your guide from 2020 on setting up Equalizer APO with your "mymic.txt" configuration file, but then I checked for any updates and I see you are using something called VoiceMeeter for some of your mic plugins. Should I switch over to that, keep using Equalizer or use both?
I don’t use voicemeeter for my plugins. The other videos you’re referring to are for users that dont want to use equalizer apo. For instance, this video is about setting up filters in OBS
@@TheFranswahStudio Sorry, just to clarify, by processing chain do you mean the final editing process? I'm just not familiar with that terminology haha. Thanks!
@@TheFranswahStudio is this from a general guideline in vocal eq? cause ive seen most people recommended 3-4db boost on low freq for a warm broadcast sound. while you said its 1db at most. or is it from your personal preference?
@@cult2 3-4db is generally overdoing it and making the vocals to heavy on the bass. Its about having a nice clean balance and many channels out there don’t know how to do that.. they just suggest a big boost in the lower end..

You’re fine! So if you set up eq apo you don’t need to add filters into ons unless you want to add side chaining or additional effects

i dont have a VST folder
How would you do this so it works everywhere and not just obs? Great videos, thank you for all the guides and help!
You would need to setup a VST Host or EqualizerAPO to use the VSTs on the mic
Thank you for this! Really well explained, and easy to understand.
question : vst is available for me but when i clip to drop down i dont see anything?
I totally agree, video quality can be ignored but audio is something should be great to achieve.
Audio is always priority number 1 in my opinion. It’s free to improve and free to learn

You can apply this filters before voicemeeter mic input as well. So you do not depend on obs streamings and you can use them in videocalls.
Can you tell me how to do that?

I'm confused about filtering the S sounds wasn't most of it around 8k frequency 12:23 why did you set it to 5.5k
Hard to say been awhile since I’ve used the mic.. could have made a mistake.. but I’m sure I noticed something I didn’t like in that range
Looks like he added a second notch around the 9k range too.

I typically apply compression and de-ess in post while editing my videos. Is it safe to assume that I should not use those filters in OBS in my case?
If you’re recording in OBS you might save yourself some work by applying those in the processing chain
