This is how videos should be made. To the point and without wasting any time. Amazing soft and soothing voice coupled with a very nice accent. Thanks a lot.
The thing I appreciate the most about this video is that not only do you give us the recommended settings, but you also explain what each filter/settings is for and how it can be adjusted in case we need to configure our settings for a setup that is slightly different from yours. Thank you for a very comprehensive OBS guide.
I've been streaming for three years, and one of my goals for this year is to improve my mic audio on streams. Just did a test with filters you suggested in this video, and it's already making a world of difference. Thank you!
Thank you so much for making this! I have been struggling nonstop for three years trying to get my microphone to sound decent, but after seeing this tutorial, that problem has been solved. I love how simple, yet effective the methods are, how you explain what all of the different filters do, and most importantly, what volume we should be aiming for. Once again, this video was a lifesaver and I am so glad to have found it.
This is the second of your videos I have watched. I had already watched a lot of OBS videos, and most of the people lost me, either by being disorganized , or by using unnecessary computer jargon. I not only learned a lot from your videos, but feel that I learned ENOUGH to actually do what you are saying. I especially appreciate that you don't leave out the Apply and Okay steps. I need to hear these things.
This video solved my volume problem. Incredible. I bought a hyperX cracked up the volume to hear my recording it was bad. I now bought a Blue Yeti thinking the microphone was the issue. The problem was worse...lol. I followed Andrew's recommendation and a miracle happened. Problem fixed, I sound so amazing. I have to return the Blue Yeti now!! Thanks so much 😊
This video is amazing! It is very good to mention the broadcasting standard to peak at -3dBFS. Some streamers peak at very low levels because they want to be "in the green" which means nothing. Listen to him guys! There is a standard and you need to fullfill that to sound good.
I feel as though I should definitely already know this stuff, but better late than never! Thank you so much for the video my dude, I really appreciate it 🧡
Dude, I've watched a kabillion of these and still sounded like I was in a can with a high powered fan. Nice, simple, straight forward and it works. Thank you!
This is one of the best tutorials I've used! I have zero knowledge about audio settings, but I left this video sounding much better, and knowing the how and why it happened. Thank you so much. :) Top tier video! 💜
Thank you for a well presented tutorial. I wish more people would mimic your style: not confusing, easy to follow, and "hopefully" spot-on. Can't wait to test this out.
Honestly, dude I tried this a while ago on my computer. And it sounded soo bad cause the computer was soo old. I started using my brother’s laptop and now with these settings I sound amazing. Thanks a lot man!
What an amazing guide mate, will try these setting now to listen to the changes. Thanks for the help and what I liked a lot, was that you were drawing at what had to be changed.
it'll make it better but it will still sound nowhere near as good as an actual mic.I personally use the Fefine metal and its a great budget mic at only 50 dollars
Dude, I didn't believe you when you said disabling everything and adding them with filters will make a difference, but damn I am very happy with the results.
Finally something worth watching. Other vids with more "clout" say don't touch OBS filters, they don't even show the interface. They mainly point to VST Reaper plugins. With just your instructions here I sound better than those other guys (plus I added the EQ from Reaper plugins; still not sounding best I can, but I guess I just don't understand EQs well enough) Blue Yeti mic.
@@xxmax35_xx I just had the same problem recording an hour-long video, its because your noise gate is overlapping with your voice causing it to cut through it because your lowest talking voice is within or lower than the noise gate threshold. lower your noise gate threshold so that it is behind your lowest talking voice in OBS.
Andrew, this was the most helpful video I have come across in my last week of exploring DOZENS of videos. Thank you, this was very professional, very helpful, visually appealing, and surpassed any expectations I had previously! Not to mention your QUALITY LIGHTING! You are a God among men.
Hello there.I'm doung live streamming on my group page. Everytime i go live my connection is always interrupted even i have a strong internet connection. What should i do.
I'm sure plenty of people have already commented on how good this video was, but I might as well contribute one more! Very helpful filters, they completely changed my mic quality :D
Jesus... Had to put my gain on 19 o.o Edit: K, after listening to recording, i am gonna take it down quite a bit ^^ Edit 2: Well, still sounds like i have the common cold xD Guess imma have to roll with it for now. Might also be because i am a norwegian speaking english .-. Thanks anyways. The volume is a little bit higher than it was, so i am happy :)
One more complement: My minister father used to say that he preached his sermons in such a manner that a child could understand them and hopefully the adults might understand them as well. Your delivery and explanations are appreciated.
from military perspective brother thank you for the straight to the point information i understand that my microphone is different but man you hit the nail on the head
finally a good video that explains Audio settings clearly I watched other videos to understand how to configure and Balance audio but those videos were needlessly complicated
Thank you. I just got a new microphone, to replace the headset mic I've been using. I just followed the steps in the video. Can't wait to see how it does.
Thank you so much. Super big help for me. I'm strugling for this almost 2 months and now I know how to do it I love. Long Live Awal Digital. Thank you Sir Babe.
Paused mid-video to say this: I knew this was the video I was looking for as soon as I heard your intro. Thank you so much for sharing this. ETA: Subbed. Nice work, man.
I didn't know that OBS had its own built in limiter. I kept using a external program for limiting my audio that was kinda funky and didn't always work. Thanks very much for this tip!
I was stressing all morning trying to get enhanced settings for my mic through Realtek and had no luck but this is all I wanted I wanted to get rid of the fan noise and make my mic sound great and you made it so easy and I only needed to use one filters
this is a life-saver, been messing with mic-filters and all that crap but finally this solved my keyboard clacks in the background, it's not totally perfect but i bet i can make it with a few minor tweaks
You just got a sub for this my friend 👍 I've been tearing my hair out all day trying to sort my mic out. If I'd seen this at the start of the day it would have saved me all the stress in the world. Thankyou sir.
this is just one of the magnificent tutorials i've ever seen, i'm using my phone mic as my mic since i'm broke asf, but this tutorial made my mic quality better! thanks man!
You are an absolute legend, mate!!! I've literally watched 10s of videos and this was the only one that helped me. It was straight to the point and very informative!! Cheers, mate!
Thank you sooo much! I did bought a new microphone and the upgrade to a XRL Microphone was a huge prblem because I had no experience to adjust the volume and the setting to make my voice clearer which wasn't the case while I tested my microphone. Now my voice is much decent to hear compared to before :)
This video really helped me out, because I was so desperate to find a solution to that static sound on the mic and the "compressor" solved it so thank you so much for the help!!!
Hello Andrew…you made this video, easy, comprehensible and effective. I was amazed by the result on my pc speaker. My newly set up microphone is not working yet and i’ll find how to work it out. Overall, the result was amazing. Very grateful for the professional sound..
This really helped me out! I am trying to become a streamer/content creator, but when I record my video's, my thicc keyboard always picks up, it's ok for asmr stuff but it gets annoying, so this really helped me out!!!! Thank you so much!
Such a great video, have come back to it over and over as I've moved to new pc's. I've found setting my windows mic setting at 80% and using gain in obs eliminates all hum noise from microphone. At 100% windows I get humming. Thanks for the video.😀
amazing video, It cleared up my audio quickly and also reduces my mechanical keyboard noise to almost nothing, once i add in game audio i doubt you will be able to hear it. Thanks!
Thank you! I was using my mic right out of the box/without any filters and I was getting an audible level of background noise. It was low but still audible. These little changes give my audio a vast improvement. Thanks again!
After this tutorial and going with you setting my mic was sounding pure. I have been trying to get better mic audio due to the fact that I am trying to become a streamer or a YT but thanks for the help.
wow that was absolutely a night and day difference. i also added a cloud lifter inline activator which brought that noisy hum down a lot too. thank you very much for this tutorial

Does the filters work when using a built in microphone on the computer/laptop when ppl don't have the money for an external microphone?
