Absolutely! I have thought exactly that and honestly can’t believe that commentators have never commented on it. Then again, they’re to busy talking utter codshite! 🎯
we all loved Jocky back in the day, darts wouldnt have been darts without him. those of us darts and snooker fans in the 80's had it better than any before or since. RIP Jocky and Eric
I always had a soft spot for jocky (john),and not because he's Scottish, but because he was such a gentle guy with his sad upbringing, the guy just melted my heart.R.I.P. John. Jocky Wilson.
Eric was the best for a long time but in 1989 Jocky won the BDO and did it the hard way by beating three of the top four seeds including a win over Eric. That is quality.
High Pit Social Club Cramlington...County game Jocky for Northumberland drew Eric ...what a match .. what a drink and laugh after. Those two loved each other and we loved them !!!
Miss these greats from the past, all great characters and top players. They made darts famous. John Lowe the ambassador, Eric Bristow rightly cocky as he delivered, Jockey Wilson a great character you wouldn’t miss if he was playing. Great times. RIP ❤️❤️❤️❤️
He actually did. People get mistaken thinking eric and jocky hated each other when in reality they both were good friends off the board. Eric hated john lowe but not jocky hence why eric was at his funeral.
The professional darts circuit was chock full of fascinating characters in the '80's. Jocky Wilson, Eric Bristow, John Lowe, Bobby George, Cliff Lazarenko, Bob Anderson, Mike Gregory, Dave Whitcombe, Keith Deller, Leighton Rees, Alan Evans, Alan Glazier, Peter Locke, Steve Brennan, Ceri Morgan (with THAT throw!) Great times.
Eric and Jocky will always be my favourite ever players. Phil Taylor next, because of his sheer superiority. Now, MVG and Luke Littler - both awesome players and entertainers - Luke also for being the youngest ever World Champ and such an incredible talent.
Jocky, met him a couple of times, mouth like a docker and a tough wee sod lol he gave so much to the sport he loved, they all did. Special times and priceless memories. Without Eric and Co todays players would still be working 9-5 and earning alot less in the sport.
It just isnt the same now . Littler has just won the world title aged 17 ,kudos to him . He isnt wont be a character with personality, although hes only young . It's the same in many sports now . RIP Jockey.
Yep, just like alex higgins who also was world champion twice, and was a peoples champion, you cannot win world championships twice and be a fluke You can do it once and be a fluke, but to do it twice shows he was a good player. The way he threw a dart, you could never teach that to someone. Just like how alex higgins would cue in snooker, you just cannot teach these things, they just naturally had that talent and they did it there way.
Sometimes when I watch Chizzy, it reminds me of Jocky throwing. RIP Wee Jocky

Always thought that lol 😅 👍🏻🫡
Yeah I get that, jerks on 3rd or any throw sometimes
Must be a quick reaction of a release not being right
That's just what I always think
Never noticed it but you’re bang on!!

Too right
100%
if watching this doesnt bring a tear to your eye nothing will ... sadly missed... awesome player and a character at the oche ...

A true legend of the game. RIP Jocky ❤️🙏
What a great player
Still have my jockey wilson darts. Loved the man, made darts exciting.
"Have a safe journey home, goodnight and godbless". Absolute legend.
Much missed Eric & Jocky, shame that they weren't at the recent seniors tournament. Would've been great to see em go at it one more time.
RIP Eric & Jocky, both sadly missed
Loved the guy, best era for darts, Bristow, wilson, lowe, george, wonderful charactors.
Bob Anderson.
I like the way Eric cuts across the oche and jocky’s reaction 😂😂
Scottish National Hero, John Wilson.
That’s about right. An alcoholic with mental health issues.
One of the all time greats
He burnt the candle at both ends, and the middle and the sides. Great quote by eric bristow.😅
R.I.P. Jocky; this was a nice little tribute to the man. Thanks for uploading - I liked it and subscribed.
The players these days are so much better but the characters back then are so much better.
Eric was the best for a long time but in 1989 Jocky won the BDO and did it the hard way by beating three of the top four seeds including a win over Eric. That is quality.
Eric was "The Architect"
Eric teared up in that last comment. Salt of the earth these men
The most watchable player ever.
Growing up i used to love watching Jocky play darts.
High Pit Social Club Cramlington...County game Jocky for Northumberland drew Eric ...what a match .. what a drink and laugh after. Those two loved each other and we loved them !!!

Top characters. Great banter between Jocky 🏴and Eric 🏴
The Golden Age Of Darts. Really Special Times.
Stevie in Scotland.
Eric loved jocky

I could never figure out how jockey held his darts. Craziest throwing action ever.
Jocky what a legend , character and likeable chap in the game of darts
What a legend

None like Jocky. He was unique
The Alex Higgins of darts just must watch when he played
Great comparison spot on
When real recognises real, rest in peace legends.
A star jockey lovely man
7:08 How cutting to the heart is this?
AS AN ENGLISH MAN I LOVE ❤️ THE SCOTS VOTE REFORM
When darts had characters
Was an era when most sports had characters
'Nose like a ski-slope' ..classic 😆😆
He was not the best ever but on his day he was practically unbeatable. R,I,P, WE MAN.
Rip . Two legends
LEGEND THAT'S THAT
It just isnt the same now . Littler has just won the world title aged 17 ,kudos to him . He isnt wont be a character with personality, although hes only young . It's the same in many sports now . RIP Jockey.
Jocky and Eric played the public. Pre WWF
legend Jockey Wilson
Wish i was alive to watch jockey at his best what a unusual player with insane talent LEGEND❤
I’d love to have met jockey
clear that eric was deeply fond of jocky
The one with the grin... Legend...
Legend of the Lister Bar in Kirkcaldy
7.30 way he shakes hands and walks off stage at end feels very Scottish but i don't know why
R.I.P. Jockey Eric
Mon the Jocky Wilson.
How Mason is still commentating is beyond belief, he’s not a pleasant individual. Read his rap sheet!
Hammer time 🔨🔨🔨
Who is the player at 1min 05secs?
There was an article in the News of the world saying "Is Jocky Wilson dead?"
Does anyone have this?
Reply appreciated.
I think so, because he was national legend, but then just disappeared. I could have misconstrued your comment.
@1:04 Didnt he used to play in goal for Man Utd?....
Alan Warrener Schmeichel reference? 😂
He could do what he did with a pint of vodka in him that’s amazing !
Poor man had a hard end to his life 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
I miss the days when sport wasn't so bloody sanitised. Darts players hating other darts players, what's not to like?!
This guy was the BEST ..Todays little wee muppets dont even come close . . . . .
A video on Jocky, but yet you have Bristow in the thumbnail. Why?
Why use a thumbnail of Bristow?
It's not, it's his face
Ram man
All darts players are nuts :)
Alcoholism is a bastard.
🏴

RAB C WILSON 😂
Keith Deller was a twat. Came to Butlins and after 20 minutes
just walked off. Money in the bag. Needs stuffing.
Twice world champion, this is NOT America.
Anxiety
Hhhh
I’m Sure cliff ended up at hospital that night
Erica Bristow
I cannot belp but like Jocky and Eric because they are proper working class, no airs no bullshit. That's what we are all about 🫶🏴💪
