Just watching this video brought a tear to my eyes, what a gent eric was has been and always will be my no1 dart player. The world was a much better place back then regular see your local pubs boomin like this, i cant remember last time i seen my local full. RIP ERIC ❤
I miss Eric so much. Met him at the Silk Cut World Cup in the 80's. Autographs and Photos behind the scenes with the Whole England Team. Still have them. Eric was immaculate and such a gentleman. What a Professional he was. He was so special. Stevie in Scotland.
@ The characters in the background proper blokes! The grapevine pub was on an estate inside of Watford. Grew up going in there with my dad. Great times lots of parties!
@@sammyadds6280 Yup, we had a similar pub (as dis many areas I suppose) here in the North East. Proper boozer full of all different characters. Now it's a Weatherspoons with men that have ponytails ordering from their phones... fucking sad!
I bumped into Eric one day in motorway services. I had a bit of a chat with him. What a gentleman he was. I was sad to hear when he died. For all the rivalry between him and Jocky, Eric proved what a proper man he was when he payed for Jocky's funeral. RIP Eric.
I miss those days! We had an awesome workmens club in our little area of south wales. It still going today but its lost all its charm. All the old characters have past on & nothing feels the same anymore. I would give anything to go back & do it all again! These videos make me so nostalgic 😭
That's a shame. Which club do you refer to? I'm also from South Wales but live away. Even the last twenty years I see a lot has changed, none of it positive.
Went to school with Eric between age 11-15. He was a character and getting into trouble even then but always fun to be around. He sure brightened up the game of darts on TV. RIP.
This is exactly what Eric was like. When in Blackpool he would go to the Comrades Club and have a beer with the old fellas. MVG used to go to the Breck Club in Poulton le Fylde and play on the bandit. Most Darts players are pretty down to Earth.
My grandad always watched the darts when I was a kid, and I think his love for eric bristow must have been hereditary. He was the reason I picked up a set of darts 30 years ago and i have played ever since. Rest in peace you absolute legend!
This is lovely Eric Bristow is my favourite Darts player of all times and this is how I remember pubs used to be in London a few games of pool everyone having a laugh a singsong it’s all gone now days shame on the government
For me personally, he will always be MR Darts. Never seen this interview with the Wimbledon Legend (maybe interviewing skills needed brushing up). Two of my favourite sports players. I hope Eric knew how loved he was.
The more the sensitive types found him offensive, the more real mean of Britain loved him - a true gentleman of the sport. God bless him, much loved, never forgotten.
2 legends of the sport the good old days when the pubs were great ,people went out for a good drink, these silly coke heads today sit over a pint all night, scare to get drunk. 180🎯
RIP Mr Eric Bristow. He’ll always be the first name I think of when I think of darts. Hope you’re enjoying a good vindaloo and a few lagers upstairs. Save me a piece of pakora mate 👍
That's so true... When he said that Davis and himself were top, they didn't receive any praise! Yet if we'd been American, they would have loved us!! In 2025 this is STILL true!!
Great English man Eric Bristow (no doubt even just saying that these day's will apparently be 'offensive'.. good I hope it is) He was honest enjoyed his life spoke about how he liked smoking drinking and playing darts....Massively missed! I know what Eric thought about the worst generation of 'politicians' this country has ever had and what they have turned this great country into and of those they have allowed in....and boy!! Aren't we now seeing the results....🤐🤐🤐😥
A bit hypocritical seeing as your names Patrick. As an Irish man myself the other English man is drinking a Guinness. Vinny lives in America so no wonder he's drinking bud. Americans drink Bud light they don't even drink the full bud lol
When men were men and pubs were pubs. Bristow was a total legend as is Vinnie. RIP Eric
When Britain wasn't a foreign owned country, purposefully destroying itself!

He was an absolute pig of a man. The guy in the chippy will corroborate my statement 😂

Nice to hear from a Scotsman. I think Eric had time for everyone if they were civil to him
My local pub my dad is in the video and friends. My good mate bill who drunk the yard was with him today great video!!
It was a brilliant video, can't believe this is the first time I'm seeing it! Back when a boozer was a proper boozer!!

Miss old Eric what a legend .Great work Vinnie
Lived his life the way he wanted, nothing but admiration for the man, said a few controversial things, but didnt mean to offend anyone.

What a brilliant talent is VJ, for an untrained actor. In 2024, he's still got it playing in "The Gentlemen". He's aged really well.
Just brilliant to watch .

Both legends. RIP Eric

A real English pub 👍
Not like today. It's the pakis comin over in the 70s ya see..
Vinnie Jones is drinking the US Budweiser here. I thought this guy had class.

The Gen Z generation are killing the pub tradition.
No capitalism is killing the pubs. Trying to charge people £7-8 a pint is insane
