Did it ever dawn on Phil Taylor that Bristow had (whilst struggling with Dartitis), spotted that PT had that special ingredient which EB had lost and by keeping him close would identify it.
Bristow always said "if I could identify what Dartitis was, I'd make a fortune.

Thanks for the like, it's appreciated beyond measure. Knowing what Dartitis (yips is, are) has been the bain of my life for the last 17/18 years. There is a remedy not a cure as it is not an illness. However, it is only available to what I consider the ENGLISHMAN.

Interesting interview mate.
But I must say that the standard of darts during the 1990's up until at least 2005 was NOWHERE near that good.
After 2005 the standard of darts exploded and shot right up big time.
Phil would NEVER have won 8 world titles in a row had he of started playing darts AFTER 2005.
He still did continue to win world titles after 2005 though so I must say fairplay to him.
People just have to remember that when Phil started playing darts the standard was nowhere near as good as it became after 2005.
Hence why he was able to win 13 world titles.

Back in the 80s eric bristow was the main man at darts. From the 90s phil taylor took over the mantle. Hes the greatest ever darts player. Though i wud argue the legend John Lowe was the most popular darts player imo. Great podcast btw.
