Fantastic! What a great way to demonstrate the STEM value of our hobby and engages the general public in a relatable and interesting way. Outstanding! I hope I get to see the full show here in the US.
Some of the German pilots are planning to watch it on this site. They seem to think it will work outside UK - give it a try to see if you can get Channel 4 on it tvcatchup.com/
Fantastic, thanks
Very cool I was asked be part of this but unfortunately I did t make the cut as there were so many entry's looking forward to seeing the fun :)
I really enjoyed watching the first episode, but i wonder why they didn't get some other really good pilots, like the TJD guys? They are experts at scale warbird formation flying and display at every big show up and down the country. Some of the pilots on the program seemed to struggle with basic takeoff and landings? The producers seemed to have gone down the politically correct road of ticking diversity boxes, rather than getting the best people for the job. That said, I still really enjoyed watching it and well put together with historical facts thrown into the fun side of flying. Well done!
So great to see this! where do you guys get your scale cockpits? I'm building an 1100mm P51d for scale FPV
Hope I can watch channel4 here in Belgium

FPV drones in their first iteration as RC model aeroplanes. Now used as serious war weapons by the Ukrainian army.
Well dome m8!
Enjoyed the programme a lot! Could you help me out please I have a Dynam hurricane I want to fly fpv with head tracking. Would you please tell me the gear I need?
OK Pablo, but you have choices. I'm going to assume you want to record video at the same time as filming, so you need an action cam that can record and give live video out at the same time. It also needs to have the ability to separate the lens on an extension cable or there will not be room in the cockpit to rotate the camera. On the show we used Mobius 1 with either a 120 or 135 degree lens on an 8" extension cable. I prefer 120 but others prefer the wider view of the 135. If I was doing this now, I would use the RunCam Split v2 - picture is better. You then need a video transmitter to send the video to the goggles. There are dozens of options but there are different laws on which frequencies to use, and what power output to use depending on what country you live in. Best thing is to choose one that has 40 plus frequencies and the ability to select what power to output. They can be used anywhere - you just put your local settings in. On the show we used Immersion RC Tramp HV. the other thing you need is a gimbal. Most of them swing far too wide to go inside a cockpit but there is a really cheap one that is ideal but they are hard to find - needs a web search. I will add a link just so you can see the one you need. Also you need 2 servos, one for pan, one for tilt. They need to be metal geared to take the strain. The pan servo needs to be either 180 or 260 degree rotation to allow enough neck rotation. I use Turnigy 180 or Henge 260s. hobbyking.com/de_de/fpv-fiberglass-pan-tilt-camera-mount.html Good luck and bag some Heinkels.
RoboBiggles amazing thank you so much! Love watching your videos :)
RoboBiggles can you land fpv or is that pushing it?
All my take offs are done FPV, and about 80% of my landings also, so yes it absolutely can be done. On the BoB Episode 2 you saw Magdalena take off in a Dynam Hurricane, fly and land herself, all goggles on from end to end. That was no gimmick - she actually did that. Amazingly she had never flown fixed wing before she arrived on set, was there 2 days only and achieved all that in 2 days. She was very familiar with quad FPV flying but that is a whole other skill set. I think she is a prodigy to have done so well so fast!! My suggestion is get used to landing a glider FPV without undercarriage before trying it wheels down with a Hurricane. You need to get comfortable with "groundrush" first. Unless you buy a joblot of spare undercarriages up-front!!!
RoboBiggles ok will do. Thanks for the tips! :)
RC making it to MSM... almost unbelievable, lol
I am a stunt display pilot
I have 2 rc planes
Cool modes but wrong Messerschmitt for the time period
Nose art not allowed on RAF planes during the war.
You may be right Bernie, but what was allowed, and what actually happened, are two completely different things. I could show you literally dozens of photos of RAF fighters with nose art, including the Hurricane flown by Douglas Bader as early as the Battle of Britain (Hitler getting his arse kicked), scantily clad women, dragons, fighting bulls, Donald Duck, shamrocks and dozens of desert airforce fighters with shark mouths painted on the nose. And in the case of RAF bomber command - well take your pick they were littered with nose art.
Well done ole m8, what happen to Me 109 canopy? Lol
Battle damage Nev, along with the rudder. It was one of the FPV 109s, with the camera gear removed it is now a souvenir for the pilot that flew it in laser tag combat and is undergoing renovation.
Were you using laser tag tech during the battle? Wow, now I am even more interested! :D
Yup... Enough hits triggers a smoke canister and you are goin down!
Wow that's amazing indeed lol Another level of fpv !
The chronic and almost delusional nature of belief that the RAF actually prevented an invasion continues. The Kriegsmarine had very limited capacity for amphibious ops.
