  • If you want to get your scale FPV cockpit a little better focussed there are options. However the compromise for better focus on the cockpit is softer focus outside. Decide what balance works for you.
In the 3 models shown in making this video I have a Caddx DJI air unit with the Caddx camera rather than the original DJI camera (which has a fixed lens). The recordings are 1080p from the air unit.
The models are the Dynam 1.5m Me262, the FMS 1.5m P47 and the Avios 1.45m desert Spitfire MkVb.
The Revi sight in the 262 is from BK (Bjorn Kremmer) and the Mk1 RAF sight in the Spitfire is a (now unavailable) reflector sight by Tim Noack (soon to be available again, updated in Mk2 RAF format from Motionsic).

Great info on using the locking ring to adjust focus. I never knew they allowed flexibility in adjusting focus. I thought the manufactures had set the focus on the lens with glue. Thanks John!

Use a split diopter to keep both in focus

Or if possible shim the bottom of the lens mount from the sensor to “tilt” the focal plane

I wonder if cameras with smaller apertures are better at focusing on the near and far at the same time. I have a low light FPV camera and the cockpit is super super blurry.

Yes, thats the physical limitation. You either get a deep depth or much light.
