Love watching. Have just started canning and back to sewing since I have gotten old (76).
Love learning something new. Thank you for the simple and quick ideas..
Wonderful!
I love Tim Holz fabric. This pattern will work so well for all the beautiful prints that are now available.
Loved watching but I really don't like the print of your design wall!!
I’m replying because I doubt you meant that negatively-you were just making a point. If it’s also not her favorite color or style, maybe it’s on purpose! 😊She'll want to change it more often, which means more of April's Craft Room videos for us. Yay!🎉🎉
Absolutely awesome! ❤
Thank you so much!
I like this pattern. 😊
❤️
That's a Hump Jumper, LOL. Wonderful quilt.
❤️
Love it!
Thanks!!
Was hoping for a "yellow" option, but peach would be cool, too.
Do you use the invisible thread on top and bottom. Thanks April, the quilt is cool.
I’d like to know also.
It used to be called a Jeanamajig. 😂
LOVE IT!
Who knew a huge 9 patch could evolve into such a beautiful quilt! Love the binding technique too.....Thanks for sharing.
You are welcome. And thank you for watching.
So, you're saying that your friends are the fabric police?😂
Lol
I love how you carefully explained how you prepared the backing, and also how you started and enmeshed your binding. I'm an old and experienced sewist, but many younger and less experienced folk are joining the ranks. You have done them a great favor. It was well explained and demonstrated.
I love the fat quarter bundle and your finished quilt.
😮
I LOVE YOUR GORGEOUS WEDDING RING.❤️💋🇨🇦
That fabric is stunning ❣️ even through your video it looks so beautiful. I have no to tell you something you already know😂😅😂❗️iron baby, iron!!!😂🤣😂🤣
I had to jump back in and say WOW, WOW, WOW❗️❗️❗️❗️ this was incredible, I’ve done a 4 hour quilt but a 3 hour?😱 great video April!!!
Love the colors. And I need some of that thread too. Love the big 9 patch cut up 🎉❤
Thanks for the tip!
Thanks for sharing your adventure from the very beginning when you open the fat quarter bundle to the finished quilt!
Thank you!... For not calling this a "beginner project" like so many youtubers would. .... Always pre-press! (couldn't resist😉)
You are so welcome!
I also pre wash just in case of shrinkage
I love that you made a different version of a disappearing nine patch. It has always been my favorite. Bonus points for knowing that Frankenstein created the monster. Most people don’t.
Now I’m in trouble. My grandson is in love with your quilt.
Very nice fabrics indeed. Thank you ❤️
Love the 3 hour quilt, never thought of doing it that way, plus cutting and swapping pieces is an awesome idea for a totally pieced quilt. Great tutorial, always love watching your shows I usually catch the replays. Thank goodness for replays
Glad it was helpful!
I really like this quilt Miss April. Fantastic example of how to use large pieces to show off super cool prints. That bundle worked marvelously…and you didn’t spend days on end cutting and piecing it back together. Love the richness in those prints. Have a terrific weekend. Hopefully I can catch your Live this weekend. 🤗🤗
❤️
It's called a hump jumper, often used to go over bulky seams when hemming jeans.
Cool tricks you showed today! Thank you. I love how this quilt came together, and the fabrics are gorgeous. 😘
Thank you! 😊
April your Masculine Quilt turned fantastic! Can't beat some of Tim Holtz's Fabrics for one.
Your Tutorial is spot on with enough details to know what to do. Thank you! 🤗
Thank you so much!
As always, a lovely quilt...in 3 hours. Wow.
Great Quilt Thank You April greetings from Sweden ❤
Thank you! 😊
Thank you so much for showing how to bind with that angle! I am going to try that method next time, seems tidier than the way I have been only joining them together.
Glad it was helpful!
you look so pretty in this video. I love that denim very! Great looking quilt! Saving to my pinterest board "fat quarter quilts."
Beautiful work. I think your personality is wonderful, cheerful but not too irreverent. I hope that makes sense. ❤👍from Somerset UK
Thank you so much!
fabric is art. these style fabrics are best shown in large pieces, nice choice.
I use this binding technique especially for mug rugs or table runners where there is not to much space to do a bias sewing of the ends.
Love that fabric Di! Lovely quilt.I talk to myself all the time while I quilt. lol sometimes say the same things you do esp when cutting things.
Love this quilt!!! Thanks again for another great video!!! Here's hoping I can find that fabric online somewhere!!!
You are so welcome!
Ive used that monofiliment thread before and it works great. But the thread thats woefully underrated for garment making, specifically gathering, is elastic thread. Wind a bobbin with it, stitch a line and voila you have gathering. Just the way you want it. No more two lines of stitching, pulling up threads etc. The other thing thats underrated is stitch witchery- that gossamer " tape" that you can use to hold things down when you iron. Theres all kinds of uses for it. And its permanent.
Great tip!
love this quick quilt! I have the perfect fat quarter bundle to apply to this pattern!
I love this! I’ve been looking for a masculine quilt pattern for my husband. Oh, snd that thread, what a wonderful idea. I will be adding that to my thread stash. I can’t wait to try it.
Wonderful!
Looking extremely smart today, April! 🤗
Oh thank you!
Love Tim Holtz! This is the perfect pattern/fabric for a guy. Thank you April!
You are so welcome!
Hi April,
Wow that quilt turned out so pretty! Good job!
I done the 9 patch from fat quarters the last time you
done a video on it, but this one was different amd
I think I like it better! Love the fabrics!
❤
❤️
I'm glad to see someone else do their binding like I do
Yay!
What is the name of the fabric you used? Where can I buy it. It is just the look I need for someone special. Thank you . I love watching you.
Tim Holtz Eclectic Elements. There is a link in the description.
Love this! So glad to see a new video from you. Thank you for sharing,
I love your videos! I always learn something new. Great binding tip!! Beautiful fabric. Where are the kitties? They were missed.
This is so in my wheelhouse! I’m all for big pieces and easy quilts. I will definitely make one or more of these. Love your channel.
Monofilament threads have come a long way over the years. If your machine doesn't like the thread on the bobbin, you can use a light Grey regular thread or a matching color. There is also a fusible version.
can i have that quilt and the thread , i'm having a hard time getting started on my projects, in a funk , need my peace back. i'm loving the warm colors i just want to wrap myself in it and left alone for awhile..........
Beautiful quilt!!! Love the fabric. Do you have a link to purchase the fat quarter? Thank you for sharing this tutorial.
Looking very glam today Miss April❤️. Love this quilt idea although not sure on the fabric although I am a more floral gal.
LOVE this! I will definitely de making this one. Thank for the awesome tutorials! 💕
I like this version... have done the 9 fat quarter one a couple of times and also taught a Zoom class...thanks April for another version
🤤Tim Holtz…I have paper products to match his fabrics! I appreciate this because now I think I can muster the bravery to cut it up! 😊
You can do it!
That little tool is called a hump jumper. Great idea for a quilt.
Oh thank you!
that is great quilt and you are really making it easy. what is fabric used
on design wall
it is flannel fabric ... everything sticks to flannel. lol
I did a short on it go check it out
That little gadget also comes with pfaffs😊beautiful quilt!
Yes! Thank you!
I love the brown fabric for the back. Love the quilt. Thanks.
Wow. Wow. Wow. I even have the same FQ. Love the binding method.
🎶💐💖
Sew fun, love love love him, also close to his style is Seth apter, check him out if u don’t know him.
IT'S called a Hump Jumper. Your pressure foot should have a little black button on the right, which makes your foot glide over a hump.
Very nice and yes manly Thank you .
I have floral fabrics that would work great using this pattern. Thanks for the idea.
You are so welcome!
Great idea for a big quilt fast. Have a good day April🙂
Thank you! You too!
I know your all purpose tool as a hump jumper. One came with my Janome machine.
This would make a great charity quilt! Thanks for sharing. God bless.
Beautiful. I’ve been kind to everyone so far today, working on the eating some chocolate mission. I like to follow instructions you know.
Ha ha. 😂
Love love love this quilt ❤
"Frankenbatting"!! 😂😂 I do love a good frankenbatting, saves me a fortune.
What is the background your hanging your blocks on
Very Cool fabric with the pattern size‼️
I like the brown backing too. Wow this turned out great. Thanks for the motivation to tackle a few of my fat quarter bundles lol
I’m SO glad to see your channel doing so well. Two years ago, I told you I was going to start one and you encouraged me!! I wish I would have listened! But no time like the present!! 🎉❤
You can do it!
One of my favs! It came out great! I love your channel!
Angela Walters got that tip from a good friend of mine
Ww some awesome tips on binding and clear thread….tks
April, I've done the smaller 5"sq disappearing 9 patch, but I never thought about a 10" one, I liked it. Love your UA-cam channel and your kitties, I have a year old orange male tabby, named Nehemiah, who also thinks he can help in the sewing and ironing dept.
Awwww ❤️
I just love your videos. Keep up the great work
Glad you like them!
❤
Thank you for sharing i haven't seen anyone doing the closing like you do on tour binding that us awesome. Like your quilt you made 😊
I have heard it called the “thingamajig”
This would be a great way to use a small panel
I enjoyed this idea a lot! Thanks, April! I think I can do this one! I really do like the way you joined he binding ends! That was very helpful! Gorgeous masculine fabrics!
You are so welcome!
I can’t wait to try your binding method and that clear thread! Thank you April.
Hope you like it!
You’re one of my fav’s! And you remind me of a good friend who always “resolves” her fabric!
Oh thank you!
Thank you for this quilt! I’ve been looking for a way to use fat quarters with very few cutting for a quilt! I was taught after putting on the binding on the front, is to hand sew the back binding. After doing a few king size quilts, it would take me about a couple of hours. I used to work for a custom drapery shop. I loved it until the owner retired. Now I just do my own stuff.
Awesome!!!
I like the quilt. My kind of colors, nice and happy. I take left over batting and sew them together as well. Btw, did I see a Christmas tree still standing?😂😂
yes I try to decorate it by the season but that's not looking like it is going to happen anytime soon--- lol
I have missed your non-live posts - the live ones make me feel bad for not joining in at the time ❤ I'd love a scrap bag but I'm in the UK and it'd cost you more than the benefit I'd get if you sent it to me. I get more joy from watching you than any scrap bag, you're just wonderful and funny and brilliant 😂 shame the fur babies didn't participate this time but I'm sure they'll join in soon ❤
Love this idea. I've been looking for something similar with my amazing fabric designed by my niece. Thank you ❤
Wonderful!
I love this video...I love the idea of the fat quarter quilt. I have already gone to Amazon and put the all purpose tool in my cart. I am looking for a new machine and Brother is my favorite brand. What model are you using for your quilt? thank for a fun video.
❤️
I agree with you. The brown was a good choice. How is the JoAnn's in your area is it going to be a close down victim from the Bankruptcy?
We had one close. Haven’t heard about the second one. I sure hope not. That will be a sad day for budget friendly fabric.
I love th he fabrics you used in this quilt.💕 It came out GREAT! Thank you for sharing. 😊🌹🦋
Thank you! 😊
Like this pattern very much! I have two sets of his fq’s and I think this would be perfect. Thank you for sharing ❤
You’re welcome 😊
Like the way you finish the binding, easier than trying to fight with the binding to sew the other ways. Way easier. Going to start doing it like you did. Thanks!
Gorgeous quilt. One of your best. I’m going to try one.
This contraption is comes with Janome machines too and is called the hump jumper it is just great for Jean seams or anything heavy. Pretty quilt.
Great name. 😀
I love me some Tim Holtz! Loved your quilt and already made a Hyde Park with TH fabrics.
Awesome!!!👏🏻
Watched the replay... love the idea, but not those fabrics.... sorry, just not my cup of tea. ❤
No worries!
I’ve been in the hospital the last seven days I am just now watching this and it’s really awesome
hope you are feeling better
I love your teaching I’ve had a hard time with binding but I thank I can do it with they way you do it. Thanks April
Mine took a different route! I missed how you made the first cut and i did it another way. It will still look awesome, but I did change directions. :)
That is awesome!
I love to see you do that pattern I sent you one day ❤
Your little tool you couldn't name is often called a Hump Jumper. Because it helps you with those bulky seams such as on jeans.
Absolutely
This is the best quilt! Thank you, when I make one I will send you my effort! I love your videos.❤
Thank you! 😊
