I bought a big bag of fabric scraps at a thrift store a couple of years ago. I could see some pretty wool and what I was sure were fat quarters. The bag was $20. Bought it, dumped it out at home and in the middle of the bag was an entire quilt kit and pattern that had never been open and had the price tag on it. $135!!!! Plus all those fat quarters.
My goodness your local Goodwill is AWESOME! My Goodwill NEVER has such cool stuff! Don't take such a clean, organized, well-stocked Goodwill for granted!!❤😊
I am a card maker and use my score board every time I make cards. Your grands may enjoy making paper fans and butterflies for their mommy. I use my light box frequently for applique and card making, too.
Great find and fun to watch as you opened and realized all that you had and your excitement! Thank you for sharing I call that a happy dance find. Enjoy.
I use my light tracing box for Foundation Paper Piecing! Rather than guessing if you’re tracing it right, just do it over the light box! Helps for other types of tracings, too.
My friend always goes to thrift stores even when she plans a trip. She'll grab fabric for me, whenever she sees fabric - provided it looks in good condition and smells ok. I finally actually went to the salvation army yesterday. Wow - even furniture. Found sn antique metal stool for 3.99. Giving it to the same friend once I make a cushion for her cats. So cute. My sister rents and flips houses - 20.00 for a wardrobe chest. Lot of people donate because they just want it gone. Might be a house clean out too. Also found a tapestry blanket for 4.99 - great for the dogs. An embroidery shirt for 5.99 - beautiful and if my Mom doesn't want it, am cutting up the embroidery itms for applique.
Your such a nice person , am so happy for you I remember dressmaker sewing machines, their an older brand ,and when well maintained their real workhorses.
I have a Dressmaker Sewing machine from the 1950's. The head is all metal. The cabinet has the style of the French Provincial furniture (but it needs refinishing). I bought it inside its cabinet at a yard sale for $5.00. It sews; but, it is not my go to machine. I never got into the stamps. Your grandchildren may enjoy tracing on that light box. I would use the light box to trace paper foundation patterns for sewing scraps into beautiful blocks. You lucky lady you. Someone at Goodwill goofed. It gives me hope that I may one day find something super wonderful at Goodwill. Congratulations!
My local quilt store has taught a class on making your own fabric with stamps, and that sounds intriguing to me. I have also used plastic canvas as a purse bottom. I think you could use it to make quilt/fabric boxes as well. I use coloring books as patterns for applique, and for free-motion quilting motifs. Wow, I wish my Goodwill had all this good stuff!
I loved your Goodwill videos. The one by me hangs their fabric with the sheets, blankets, etc. I just got over 6 yards of navy blue with little white stars in tiny circles, For 3.99. What a find.
That was fun! I have the exact weaving loom you were looking at in the brown box. My grandma gave it to me when I was very young and enjoyed weaving yarn. Brings back memories of her.
The tool was a crimping tool for jewelry making - it tightens the crimp beads to hold the other beads in place or to fasten beading wire/threads together.
I do paper crafting. I would love to have found the big score board. That stick is a bone folder and you use it to score your paper in the groves of the board. I quilt as well. I would have bought it for the score board and cutting mat.
Yes, you hit the jackpot. I knew as soon as I saw the circle diagram on the front. As I recall they are more than $50. I also knew the lite box was over a $100 because it took me a long time to buy one to trace off applique patterns. A lot easier than holding the paper up to a window.
Great score! I paid $40 for my light box like that, years ago at ACMoore. It’s not essential for every day, but when you need to trace patterns for appliqué, templates or drawing, it’s a great product and you’ll be glad you have it.
Mahalo Nui Loa to the donor! You've made our friend Tracy very happy! Looking forward to you enjoying your new mat (best find of all times at a GW!!!) and light board. Enjoy your good fortune! For all the good you do for all of us "out here", you deserve the jackpot of karma that came your way! ❤🌴
Great haul! Yes, I am still using rubber stamps and have taken them all 10K of them off of the wood backing, put cling foam on them and indexed them in Google Keep (that took about two years). I make Junk journals and gelli art prints, plus cardmaking and still some scrapbooking. The scoring board is very useful in card making and journal making. You can make several score lines along a strip of paper to pleat it, for instance. I wish I could find that rotating cutting board at the GW. That's sort of a white whale in the crafting world!
That first thing that you pulled off the pile that was from Martha Stuart I use to have when I was a paper crafter. I used it all the time to score my card stock. I got rid of mine when I stopped paper crafting but it was one of my most used tools.
I have that rotating mat and use it at retreats. It’s flat and travels better than my Martelli round one. You’re going to love it for squaring up blocks!
You have an amazing craft section in yours. Ours redid them so they don't have much outside of housewares and clothing now -- so boring. Have that same light box.
The purple sew cool kids machine is battery ran and it’s no thread it mixes the fibers of felt together it’s a good first step to teach kids to sew they can’t get there fingers under the needles and no thread to deal with my daughter loved it
What a great find. The lightbox is so handy for tracing patterns, tracing pictures and seeing through fabric. Mine is a light tracer II but newer and grey.
I am so jealous. That mat is awesome girl! My granddaughter just asked me on sunday if I had a light box. I make all my cards for everyone and would love to have a scoring board. See I do everything. I was a tailor for over 30yrs and i retired early a year ago. So now I just sew, make dolls and doll clothes, quilts and oil paint and embroider and design and make sewing patterns, crochet, knit, make greeting cards, clothes of course, costumes, doll furniture, polymer clay miniatures, I even dabble in making jewelry. I would have bought half that stuff u looked at...lol My goodwill never has anything good. Nothing in the way of things im into. 😕
I love thrift stores for sewing, crafting supplies. I have that scoring board by Martha Stewart. I have used that a lot. That little tool is called a mini bone folder. It helps get nice folds crds, paper.
Bone folders are nice for scoring quilting lines w/o marking your quilt w a pen. It just makes a slight crease that you can see just well enough to sew along. 🌟
I have that same light box (have had for years!), except mine has a gray box. Love it, it’s a great size for tracing larger patterns or lots at once. I use painters tape to hold my tracing paper in place. nice find!
Great job 🎉 April has alot of stamps when she was doing scrap booking . Our Mother inlaw still does scrap booking. And making cards. Great find that rotating cutter and healing too . Great price I got one not to long ago for 40 bucks. Enjoyed your good will shopping 🛍
Love goodwill or thrift store sometimes found it worth to buy so bargain to use my sewing things love it and your score for the right price like I do. , Amen.
SCORE!!! LIGHTBOX!!!! If you do a lot of Applique the Lightbox is awesome ...the little white stick is for pressing folds. Rotating Mat!! You have the Jackpot Golden touch!!! Awesome!!!👍🎉❤️
The plastic canvas you saw in the store … some use it as a base inside bags. It is east to cut. I have made a Christmas village with it for under my tree also.
You got a great deal rotating cutting board those things are expensive. They are so nice to have. I have a little one and use it all the time.😊and light box is so nice to have. Very good deal.😊
The crimper tool is for flattening the crimp tube on beaded jewelry. This works on jewelry made of strands of clear plastic to secure the end of the beads.
I love thrifting and finding things like this. It’s exciting to see. You will get great use out the this. I just found a moda 1/4 meter bundle at my thrift store in 4 bags with other fabric for $15. It’s really the only way I can do this hobby is by also adding thrifted fabrics 😊
I own that Martha Stewart scoring tool. The triangular piece you were running along the grooves is not for that. The second piece you pulled out is actually the bo e folding tool. That is what you use to make the creases 😊
That was a real sewing machine that takes batteries. The plastic engagement around the needle keeps you little kids fingers from being pierced. My daughter had one and now I need to see if we kept it!
You won the jackbox! I have the Jo Anne's scoring board to score things for my junk journals. I wish I had that scoring mat & the light box. Great shopping at Goodwill! Thanks for sharing! Have fun cutting things! ♥️😉🫂🐾🦋✏️📓🪡🪡🧶🍄🍁🎃🧙♀️✨️
Hi Tracy! Nice finds! I live in a small town which has a small GW. I need to find a light for my fancy lightbox and i keep forgetting to look. Nice mat! Enjoy and blessings to you dear!
How fun and crazy was this!!! And watching your face as you realized what you had was awesome! Love your thrifting videos, I’ve seen them all, some more than once, you’ve inspired me to try my Goodwill for quilting supplies and quilt backings.
What a great find! You guys are so lucky to have a treasure trove of these wonderful outlets - the best we have in Blighty are charity shops and all the best donations are bagsied by the staff!
Don't be sad when you see homemade things at goodwill. Someone who can't afford one can own and love it. And the maker probably will bever know. Plus, lots of people just give to charity anyways. So I am never sad when I see that.
When you were talking about any leftover material or scraps, please remind viewers that Project Linus will take orphan blocks scrap material material you bought and thought you were gonna use but now you’re not. Yes, my sewing room is still a mess. I still have way too many scraps that I think I’m gonna use, but I do periodically try to purge and donate to them. Anything that I’m just not attached to. They have a lot of older Members whom are on fixed incomes and want to sew but can’t afford the material. They make up quilt kits or just let the people have material and bring back the quilts in whatever stage. They have members that just piece quilt tops some that really like auditioning free motion quilt patterns using the project line of quilt and some of the people just enjoy sewing on binding. So please encourage viewers to locate their local project Linus groups thank you.❤ 4:47

Tracy, I have one I bought back in 1972, sews wonderfully. Heavy as ever but a great old machine. I still have it and sew with it.
I knew you hit the jackpot when I saw the circle on that mat. Enjoy!!!
Same!
I have a dressmaker. I made my daughters clothes when she was little 40 years ago. Your goodwill. Is much better than mine.
you could use old thread for basting...that way you use it up and you aren't wasting your good thread...just an idea
I am a card maker and use my score board every time I make cards. Your grands may enjoy making paper fans and butterflies for their mommy. I use my light box frequently for applique and card making, too.
Great idea!!!
I have a light box and a score board. I use to make folio with it.
I had a dressmaker for over 30 years. It was a real gem. I sewed all my three daughters clothes and even prom and bridal gowns on it.
Good for you Tracy, you deserve it. Enjoy your great find.
You won the lottery with the ofra mat! Good for you

Someone goofed bigtime!!!
I knew the price because I've been looking at them. You scored big time.
The light box is useful to quilters for tracing applique. The rotating mat is a big win.
Score! I think the light box will come in handy. Happy quilting
I have one and love mine. I use it all the time. The rotating mat was a great find. I have a 12.5 inch and it was over 80.00 new.
I’m jealous!! My Goodwill doesn’t see any craft supplies, and you hit the jackpot!!! Congratulations!!! 🥰
I wonder if they just toss them figuring they won't sell.
I loved your Goodwill videos. The one by me hangs their fabric with the sheets, blankets, etc. I just got over 6 yards of navy blue with little white stars in tiny circles, For 3.99. What a find.
What a blast, thanks for taking us along.
How exciting! Enjoy your jackpot of goodies.
The light box is great for diamond painting
When you were unwrapping the cutting mat and I saw the circle on it I knew you hit the jackpot! What an awesome find!
That was fun! I have the exact weaving loom you were looking at in the brown box. My grandma gave it to me when I was very young and enjoyed weaving yarn. Brings back memories of her.
What a sweet memory Sue!!!
Yes stamping is still huge! I make cards and have hundreds of stamps!
You hit the thrifting jackpot! Congratulations!
The tool was a crimping tool for jewelry making - it tightens the crimp beads to hold the other beads in place or to fasten beading wire/threads together.
Great finds! Keep light box. They are handy. Awesome on spin mat!!
I do paper crafting. I would love to have found the big score board. That stick is a bone folder and you use it to score your paper in the groves of the board. I quilt as well. I would have bought it for the score board and cutting mat.

Wow, wow!!! I bought one of those mats at Joann. Priced at $100, but i used a 50%coupon. ...and I thought I scored. 😱 Nice going Tracy.
You got a deal! I mean a great deal!
I keep a small light box next to my machine. Sometimes the extra light from behind helps with piecing and placement of small pieces
Love it you won the JACK POT. Happy quilting

Do the happy dance!!! You hit the Jackbot!!!
I'm jealous, lol😂
Got to love a good thrifting win. Well done for being in the right place at the right time.
I have one of these rotating mats on my Christmas List.
I have that rotating mat and use it at retreats. It’s flat and travels better than my Martelli round one. You’re going to love it for squaring up blocks!
Ok! I'm sold! I'm off to the thrift store! Thank you!
I have a Dress Maker machine. I love it. I bought it in 1982. Still going.strong.

You hit the mother load on the mat light box alone 😂😂😂❤❤❤
I love thrift stores for sewing, crafting supplies. I have that scoring board by Martha Stewart. I have used that a lot. That little tool is called a mini bone folder. It helps get nice folds crds, paper.

Would you trace the pattern by putting it under the fabric and drawing on top?
The plastic canvas you saw in the store … some use it as a base inside bags. It is east to cut. I have made a Christmas village with it for under my tree also.
I’ve worn two Olfa rotating mats out. I believe I paid about $25-30 on sale at Joanne’s 10 years ago …..good score.
Traci!!! I'm so jealous! Nice find! And I think you could use the light box for drawing templates to cut fabric or for quilting lines.
That's a good buy. I own that light box. I love it for paper piecing. The olfa products are the 💣.
I learned to sew on a Dressmaker sewing machine when I was a young girl. It's a good machine. I have the same light box too and it's great.
Tracy you hit the jackpot
I love thrifting and finding things like this. It’s exciting to see. You will get great use out the this. I just found a moda 1/4 meter bundle at my thrift store in 4 bags with other fabric for $15. It’s really the only way I can do this hobby is by also adding thrifted fabrics 😊

I have that mat and I love it.such a pleasure to work with 👍
What an awesome find.
I learned to sew on a Dressmaker machine! It was my mother's machine. It was a light green shade.
You definitely scored!! Congratulations!

Thankyou for your comment, what a good way to look at it! 😊
Some quilters just quilt all day everyday so friends and family get lots of quilts. I'm sure they keep the favorites and rehome the others

Churches, community centers, buy nothing groups, other charities, etc are great for getting rid of material too
Wow what a haul! Wish my local goodwill had sewing supplies. You go girl!
Wish my Goodwill had all that good stuff.
Wow! Your Goodwill is fantastic!
It has its ups and downs:)
