I'm across the pond in Washington state. I loved the idea of using sheets for backing. I'm working on lap quilts for our seniors in my home town, and also working on laps for the poor families that need warmth from the floods. Loved your quilt.
I don’t know what happened with my comment to you but everything you talked about is just so true everything about quitting gives you a feeling of happiness and joy you just put what I feel about into words right in front of me and I lost everything I had said but this is shorter because I have quilting to do. Such a great quilt design. I have a lot of layer cakes, just waiting for a cute fun easy design. I also love that your grandson feels comfortable being close by. My children were always under my feet when I sewed. Now my great grandchildren take their place.

I worked at a resident care aide for 31 years and have a lot of my cotton uniforms that I would like to now make into quilts. They hold memories for me of the hundreds of Elders I have had the privilege to care for so this is a special project for me. Thanks for this great and doable idea.

Why don’t you back stitch when you start sewing…I’m afraid it will fall apart? The colors are just beautiful! Your hands are so pretty…love your rings too! Surprised that your grandson isn’t in your lap…as soon as I start I either have a cat or a grandson in my lap!!!!!
@@carolynratliff1380 thank you!! I do sometimes backstitch but most of the time I don’t. Nothings ever fallen apart but I don’t give it much time to before I’m quilting and binding it. 😂

This is my first time watching your video and I so enjoyed the step by step. It was explicit and to the point. I have been sewing quilt tops but have never actually quilted the finish product. Need some help with that process

I don’t know if there is a pattern. A customer came in with one and I loved it. I measured and duplicated in these fabrics. All she told me was she used a layer cake.

I have a similar one but I wrote down everything you said with measurements and dashing how to do one up one down everything and the video is on your shop so I can refer to that or utube if I get stuck. I’m going to start making mine Wednesday I got the material right away so I can’t wait to get started and I got 2 LC in case I mess up. So thank you so much for the reply to let me know. Where is your shop?

I plan to move there after my mother passes she is going on 85 has Alzheimer’s so I can’t leave at all while she is still with me so I may not ever make it there I’m 65 so I will just have to wait and see if rather have my mother. Well I went on your shop very nice I really liked it I’ll have to look further into it when I have a little time. You do quilting and binding at your shop?
