April, you made my day! Your comment at the end "I wasn't going to give it to you anyway!" made me laugh out loud. I love watching your videos.
thank you
I never would have thought of using the larger squares for a charm pattern. Clever Giirl! I love it & yes to a border.
❤️
I love cats Oliver is beautiful, love your videos.
Thank you
Love Oliver.
This quilt is absolutely stunning!
Oliver is one of a kind!! Who wouldn’t love him?
lol. right!
Nice to see I'm not the only one who struggles to get anything done with kitty help.
lol
Had so much fun watching the animals, so now I have to watch again to follow your quilt!
Thank you so much Linda!!!
Love your "helpers" 💜
thank you
I like your upsizing and the vibrant colors. A border is a great suggestion. I love your humor! 😂
Thank you so much 😀
Love the fabric you used. It looks so happy.
Oliver is a sweety!! My Molly (kitty) used to love to help me too.
aww
My cat lays on my long arm…. Grrrrr. You always put everyone at ease. Happy New Year!
Mine too!
I love how gentle you are with your fur babies and such a pretty quilt!
Thank you!
Omg your cat is too much I love it ❤
yes!!! LOL
First of all I would like to compliment Oliver on his gymnastics. I definitely know what it's like to have a kitty cat helping you. I run a rescue and sometimes it gets a little crazy so I have to close myself in the sewing room so I can get things done without all the gymnastics and squirrely actions. Secondly I love the patchwork quilt charm pack I would think that maybe if this were my I probably would have added another vertical row because it's too long but not wide enough I don't think so that is my opinion however I love to watching you and your kitty and your doggy and learn a lot when you put these quilts together. Thank you very much for sharing😊
Thank you so much... and thank you so much for watching my channel! and OLIVER says HI
I just love your personality. You are so much fun. I am just beginning to quilt and I am learning so much from you. thank you.
Oliver is the best!!😂 But don't forget Maxine too...❤❤
I love your idea of sizing up from charms to 10” squares! I gravitate to big blocks so I just love this. They come together so fast. I don’t think it needs any border! Happy New Year April!!
Oliver is so adorable!
Thank you!
I love your helper❤
Love this bright and colorful quilt! Not hard, pretty quick, nice pattern. And I love seeing the pets help mama out.
Thank you! 😊
Wow, AApril you did a great job with this quilt. I love watching you.
Thank you so much!
Love the helpers that you have. I have helpers as well, lol
love it
Love that cat 😂
he is a you tube star ...LOL
Beautiful. Love the fabrics.
Thank you so much... and thank you so much for watching my channel!
Oliver knows how to steal the show, boarders on the sides would look good. Happy New Year
absolutely!
Totally relate to losing things! I can’t find all of my normal decor that I took down to replace with Christmas decor!
Love your creativity, April. Keep the videos coming!
I love sizing the pattern larger. I would make another set of split none patches but add them to the side to make it wider, I agree that it’s long.
I love this quilt and how you supersized it. I would definitely add a border to it. BTW…. Oliver is AWESOME! I have 4 cats so I know what it’s like trying to get anything done in my sewing room. It can be quite challenging! lol. 🐈💕
Here you go again. You introduced me to upsizing blocks. Now you have given me a pattern that will work perfectly because since the introduction to upsizing I have been cutting 10” blocks anytime I have the cutting mat out. Small oops than no works in my favor, I think, when it comes to quilt math. I had forgotten that my 10” square is really 10.5”. I had a good sized stack when I remembered and I made the executive decision to stick with the oops size. TFS! PS, I organized an iPad mini in a neon green cover 3 years ago so well that I still have not located it.
Thank you so much... and thank you so much for watching my channel!
hope you find it ....
Oliver is adorable, I have 2 helper kitties, Mini and her son Ranni, who help too.
That is awesome!
Very bright and fun! Love it! 😍 Oliver is a great co-host and helper!😂🤣😂🤣 Love to see him performing his "fabric inspections and quality control" duties on camera. 💗🐈💗🐈💗 Thank you for sharing. I hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas and I hope that everyone has a safe, happy and blessed New Year! ❄⛄🎄🎅🏼🤶🎄⛄❄🎉🥂🍾🎉
Thank you so much... and thank you so much for watching my channel!
Hi April! I had to laugh because when you put the puppy on the table I showed my husband and I said normally it's Oliver and I guess I summoned him for you. 😂
I also have a paws in everything helper her name is Poe. In fact she loves my craft room so much she will sit in it and cry for me until I go work on something so she can play.
I have a pro tip, I got her a basket and it sits on the corner of my cutting table and when she's not helping measure, stabilizing my sewing machine by lying on top of it or demanding salvage cut offs to play with she is snoozing or sitting in her "Supervisor's Office" the basket really helps keep her out of my way and out from under the rotary cutter and sewing needle.
thank you for sharing ... and for the tip! I love it!
@@aprilscraftroom no worries! Good luck with the fur babies.
I absolutely LOVE how your babies just 'hang out' with you! (oh, and I like your tutorials too! ha.)
aww thank you ... they are fun
Love all the bright colors ❤
thank you .. .me too
Love Minnie, my fav. Beautiful fabrics, very colorful.
Thanks for showing us a quick 9 patch. The bigger the blocks the better! A border would look good but I think it would make it too big. 60x90 is a good size. I also smiled at your comment about "I wasn't going to give it to you anyway!" BTW my husband caught a bit of one of your videos recently while I was watching it and he said "oh, she's cute!" He doesn't usually make those kinds of comments. So feel flattered. LOL
lol
Well thank you for making this ole chick feel good today! thanks for watching my channel ❤️
What a cool quilt! 😘
I think so too!
You are so patient with those animals. Thanks for sharing this beautiful quilt, the colours are amazing!❤👍from Somerset UK
Thank you so much... and thank you so much for watching my channel!
I’m loving this quilt! 10”squares are perfect and easier on arthritic hands…love your colors❤
I definitely think it needs to be wider to be in proportion to the length. This is a great tutorial, and I love it.
Thank you! 😊
I love your videos.
Thank you so much... and thank you so much for watching my channel!
Have you ever sewn your backing on inside out? I'm that talented. 1st time in 8 years I've done that. Yeeesh!! Love the quilt!!
stay tuned --- I am catching up on the quilts / completed showcase coming soon
I love your bright, fun quilt. Oliver is quite the 'lil stinker. Happy New Year!
Very interesting!! Supersized is really easy the way you do it!!
thank you
It’s bold and beautiful!! Really like the scrappiness of it!
Thank you so much... and thank you so much for watching my channel!
Love the super. Size quilt block and you make it seem so easy and so much fun in your helper Oliver is just the cats meow enjoy seeing him too I love all your animals have a happy new year
lol. he is a mess
I love the way you create fast quilts! Thank you for your great ideas.
Thank you so much... and thank you so much for watching my channel!
I like this a lot. The fabrics colors are spectacular. I am currently designing a disappearing 9 patch for my daughter using 10" squares cut from FQs. I am planning to sash the squares with black grunge. The blocks will also be huge. I am planning to make the quilt 3X3.5 blocks so it won't be square. Adding a half block to your sides would keep it from being so long and skinny. Love your process.
Hi you definitely need a boarder to make it wider. Beautiful as always.
Thank you for answering my question about the Christmas Star quilt. You and Di keep me company, amused, and inspired. You are great!
Oliver is not your only helper, you also have a tabby and a canine helper 😂🎉❤
I do! Maxine
Love the four pawed helpers! Our chocolate lab likes to lay on the floor by my chair when I’m sewing. Have to check for tail and paws before moving my chair.
I feel your pain... lol
Oliver is a cutie ❤ but he better watch those paws around the rotary blade 🫣
I promise I am careful ...
Love this!
Happy New Year Mrs. April
Happy new year!
So that I am clear. I love your videos....but this thumbs up was soley for Oliver! Thanks for the laughs today. ❤👍
I love all the bright colors! Personally I would add a border just so it would hang over the sides of the bed, but that is just me. It is beautiful and so are you April 😁💖
thank you for your kindness!
I didn’t see anything you did. I was too busy watching Oliver 😂
😂😂😂 half the video I did the same thing!😂😂
Me too! Love him 😻😻😻
It makes me laugh when the video cuts and Oliver is in a completely different spot. I am easily amused I guess😂
Me, too.
Same. He likes helping.
Love colors 10in block
me too
Thank you so much... and thank you so much for watching my channel!
And I love the quilt!,🎉
thank you so much!
I love the quilt and your assistant was fun to watch (because he's not my assistant) 😸. I have my own quality control specialist who insists on sitting on my sewing machine table.
lol. they are so fun
How wonderful! A dear friend gifted me a huge stack of 10” squares! 😊 Now I have a plan what to do with them. April you’re the best! 🎉 Happy New Year 🎊🎉
Wonderful!
I love seeing your kitty cats and goofy - they're absolutely delightful, especially helpful Oliver. The quilt looks great too, but I would add a border just to frame the quilt and give a little bit of width. However, I'm a novice so I wouldn't take a lot of notice of my ideas or opinion. Have a very happy and safe new year. Deb xx
Thank you! 😊
That quilt is very pretty. I think I have that pattern. You are so bubbly. I love watching your videos
Thank you so much
Quick AND pretty! I do think it needs a wider border on the sides to make it more shareable 😊
Your fur babies are cute. And I like this quilt. Thanks for sharing. And if I was making this I would add a white or black to frame it in as a border. God's blessing over you in the new year.
Thank you so much... and thank you so much for watching my channel!
I may have a go at this after I’ve tided and organised my sewing area. 😂. Happy new year April.
Same to you!
(Jayne) April, I love ur videos but today's star was Oliver. He is so much fun to watch. Thanks for all that u do. Happy New Year 🎉
Hi April.
I love the quilt. Nice and quick to do. I would definitely add some borders especially to the sides.
Happy new year.
love this, it looks like a festive New years party, thank you
lol
Love this! You nailed it! Happy New Year.🎉
Oliver is a mess and a half lol. ❤ He is more in the the way then helping lol love that Oliver .lol. April your videos are Amazing ❤ Happy New Year
he is a hot mess!
Ooooh, I see another rag quilt in my future! I spend too much time figuring out fabric and layout, this will save me time and use alot of my stash. Happy New Year, April! ❤
April, i think Oliver's sister lives with me! LOL
lol
I’m thinking Mini on your shirt is holding your microphone. Love it!
lol
Another great video you ate the best Happy New Year keep them comming
thank you... will do
Love the quilt April have a good New year from Australia
Thank you so much... and thank you so much for watching my channel!
Beautiful 😍 love ❤️ it.
Thank you! 😊
Oliver is a great partner, if you don’t mind moving him. LOL😊
I love it!! I have the pattern and the charm packs already! I love the fat quarter shop patterns, they are easy to follow and you can change up what is use, just like this 10” squares!! I love that size!
I would in my opinion put a small border 1.5 - 2.5” “solid” color maybe a dark orange, red or even black color, to frame it up. Again that is my opinion.
I have to say the triangular black background fabric with the color triangles, my first thought Pink Floyd’s Dark side of the moon album cover! That was an aged drop comment album cover!!!
Have a great day, Happy New Years April!!
Oliver wants all your attention. You could have done The Disappearing Nine Patch for smaller pieces in your quilt top. . Your quilt top is very colorful. I do think you should add some borders to the sides to make it a little wider,
Great idea!!
It would be nice wider. But it looks great as is! 😊
love the suggestion ...thank you
Your Oliver reminds me of my cat Smokey. 😂
aww
Love it!
thank you
Was cracking up over Oliver.🤣🤣 could not follow you🤣🤣
lol
I think it turned out so bright and cheery but it does seem a little long, maybe add some side borders? I love precuts too, I collect them and wonder what to do with them, lol.
Thank you so much... and thank you so much for watching my channel!
Great tutorial and I’ll be downloading the pattern - I would add borders to the sides to drape over the sides of a bed.
Thank you and Happy New Year
great idea
Hi April,
Yeah the quilt turned out really pretty! Love all the colors. I’m like you on using just plain solids, don’t care for them much. You done an awesome job! And your fur babies lovvvvvvves to help lol. Love it!
I hope you have a grand and glorious Happy New Year 🎉
Thank you Pam
Not sure if you watch your own videos but I wanted to make a suggestion to make it better! When I hold your fabrics out towards the camera, try tipping them back towards your head. They may get some of the light over your head. In this video they go dark and are hard to see when you hold them closer to the camera straight up and down, by tilting the tops back towards your head they might get some light instead of going dark! I hope this helps some! I just love your video and your calm voice but your dog is adorable! I love your sense of adventure! I’m going to try this thanks to your video! God bless you girlfriend!
thank you..I welcome feedback to make things better!
Love this ❤
Thank you !
Add a border so it will more balanced .like the pattern.
Wider with blenders is my vote.
Thank you for the suggestion!
Add a border so it will more balanced .like the pattern.like your show .
Thank you so much... and thank you so much for watching my channel!
I love how nonplussed you are with your pets in your shot 😂
thank you
I think needs to be wider looks like not big enough go around me lol
Maybe add a 4 1/2 inch solid border to the sides.
great suggestion ... thank you
I enjoyed today's tutorial. I love how you make things so much fun. Thank you for mentioning me today regarding the wine tote. Right now I'm feeling very confused. I hit the "more" tab" looking for the wine tote pattern..I still can't find it. What am I doing wrong😠? Anyway, I'm wishing you a happy and healthy new year. Susan

April I am making a disappearing 9 quilt and i need it for a double bed.. how many blocks do i need?? they are 11x15 inches each square..and can i make it like this one??? i have made 2 so can i join them together..
thanks for listening.. and love you videos.. from canada
April, I’ve been making 50x60 throw quilts. Just simple cotton 6” squares. What while thread should I use and what size needle. I’m sewing with a singer patchwork sewing machine. Thanks!
I would use a 90/14 needle. Those are my favorite. And I would use a 40 weight thread. Gutterman is a good brand and you can get it most places.
If I sits on da ruler it won't slip. I makes things purrrfect for mommy. I is da bestest hewlper in da world.... says Oliver 😹
He is sew cute 🧡
lol. yes Oliver rules . and sits on my ruler.... my material ... everything .... LOL
