This song is the only reason I bought the Pretty In Pink Soundtrack!
This is when INXS could do no wrong. I wish this song was on one of their albums, it should be showcased
You may already know this. This is on their Kick 30th Anniversary Delux Edition. Not an official album but included with their other great music. I have a feeling they had to have recorded this at the same time as the Kick album but it didn't make the cut. I first heard it on the Pretty In Pink Soundtrack. What a great album it is. One of my favorite (if not favorite) soundtracks.
This was recorded for listen like thieves album. But was scrapped and used for pretty in pink soundtrack. You can tell this has a similar sound to the music on the listen like thieves album.
@@knightavenger4601would be cool to get a deluxe version of that album. That album and The Swing were my favourites

1986 was a weird period for Michael Hutchence’s hair
The sound switched to the studio recording just when Hutch started singing. I would have liked to hear them play this live even if the recording was sub-par. This came out with the PiP movie just as I was becoming a huge INXS fan. Everything they touched was gold
I don't know for sure, but I would imagine that there wasn't a full performance recorded by the program. There is some creative editing to make that video..I have heard at least 3 live bootleg recordings of the track from the tour they were on..it's a great gem from the time (they had quite a few b-sides at the time that were as good as their album tracks, Different world & I'm over you to name a couple)

How makes you think you know studio from live? Michael never had to pretend he was singing. Don't give up your day job

Channel Seven (here in Australia) played a remastered version of this program 'Living INXS' after the INXS miniseries,Unfortunently it wasn't the original version, it had been edited so this song appeared in much better quality but also much shorter.The good thing is that now i've seen some new (to Me) footage as the last bit of the show on my VHS Tape had been accidentally taped over......The studio version of 'melting in the sun' over the closing credits has a different guitar sound.

Yes it is. She toured with INXS on that tour and Andrew produced her album.
