I agree with you on that. I think he sounds like Mick Jagger voice in a way I bet you he could easily cover the Rolling Stones music. It’s too bad that he’s gone the way and the time it happened. It would’ve been interesting to see what else he would’ve done if INXS were to come out with more albums in the 2000s.

Do you know how rare and hard it was to incorporate piano and sax (never tear us apart) into hit songs in the 80s? These guys are legendary.
That is so true , although the sax and piano was getting quite abit action it didn't always hit the top ten best songs ever.

INXS was featured prominently in Season 2 of HBO's hugely successful show Euphoria. That is what led me to seek out this video, in fact. Watching those episodes set to INXS warmed my heart. I'm surprised that hasn't catapulted them back into the spotlight like Netflix's Stranger Things did for Kate Bush.

I was overseas in Asia, isolated, not long out of rehab meself...and then heard MH was gone. I felt like the world all changed in those 2 years, and this was one horrible one. Princess Diana. But I got clean, still am too! Happily married 28 years. But we're STILL lifelong INXS fans from high school in the 80s. Hope the lads are faring well.

Michael Hutchence certainly had a gift for writing memorable lyrics. His voice was shaped by the bars he performed in before he went professional. Together with Andrew Farriss, who was a very skilled composer, they created a strong duo, supplemented by other skilled musicians. INXS songs are full of energy mainly thanks to MH, lyrics that are not cheesy and strong melodies. My personal favorites are Never Tears Us Apart and Mystify.

He was beyond human looking back at him in concert. His stage presence just radiated pure joy and warmth. The other band members were awesome too.
Michael and Andrew made beautiful music together. I am sure Andrew missing his mate Hutch so much because I do everyday.
I’m 72 and STILL in awe of him. He has never been replaced in my estimation. So grateful we can be blessed by his presence through the magic of technology. His voice, lyrics and movement, backed by his amazing band remains timeless. ❤🎶🇨🇦

I met Michael Hutchence after a concert behind Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City MO back before they were "worldwide certified rock stars". He was so generous with his time and actually a little shy. Such a great moment in my life. Love you MH, we will always love you and miss you mate.
That's fantastic, he's one of those guys with a magnetic personality. Helps if you have a shitload of talent.
I loved the guy as a 16 year old watching a video of kiss the dirt and nearly 35 years later not much has changed.
If only they stayed in Australia….all went downhill from there.

This is one of my favorite INXS songs.
Every time I listen to inxs, it reminds me how great they were. It is a crime that people listen to poor quality music nowadays
There is not enough words to describe his talent, his charm and warmth. The world lost a big, bright star the day it was extinguished. A fan since the beginning of INXS..... ya I am an old dear fan.
Unbelievable how we will never know what caused him to commit suicide . As humans we struggle in life to get ahead and find out what we have to do to succeed in life..he was gifted with a voice and career that we can only dream of and yet he gave up in life..

I was raised on this. I recall being in my moms car in front of Frys Electronics when on the radio News of his death came out. I told my mom and we both in the car quiet for 15 minutes before heading home.

This band is criminally criminally underrated. Saw them twice as a young teenager in the 80s. He was UNBELIEVABLY charismatic and talented. The whole band had the feel of friends/brothers who had played for years together. Completely in synch - tight solid group. Just tremendous. Loved Shabooh Shoobah as an album. Makes me think back to summers as a kid - wishing I could be as friggin cool as Hutchence

This gold is more than gold... what a beautiful, timeless video. I miss the days when this song came out SO HARD. I was in Spain the day after INXS played there on this tour. The city was spackled with their posters. I was SO sad. Eventually, I did see them, a few years later, at Northeastern University in MA, and they were well worth the wait - a sublime performance that still resonates in me. Thank you Michael. ❤️

Micheal had the gift of writing lyrics that weren't cheesy and you had to look a little "between the lines". In addition, he was probably quite a strong personality with a lot of charisma, and he could take the text as a story and tell it. Which I've probably only seen with Fish (ex Marillion).

That opening is priceless. I loved this album, even at the age of 12, but I had no idea what genius I was listening too. They had already mastered their craft by 82 IMO.
