In 2002 I took my mother, sister and father to see The Cure at Hyde Park London... my father an old skool guy asked why all the men wore makeup and then told me he could smell people smoking shit...(weed) haha..... it was a summers day and we all enjoyed the concert ...me and my sister danced to just like heaven - one of our best ever pictures together .. its memories ingrained in our lives. I lost my mother 5 years ago and this was her exit music after the funeral - people danced out ... I lost my Mum but she went with everyone dancing. The Cure are timeless and have been with me through much of my life.

High School . I found them at 15 on the Boys Don't Cry album, tangentially through Siouxsie Sioux. Quoting Camus in Killing an Arab. I put a blacklight in my ceiling lamp, spray painted my dresser silver, and threw down a Persian carpet. I saw them live twice, both around 1985, once at the Oakland Coliseum where we rode up in the elevator with the band. So amazing. I remember my friend Ari and I singing every song of theirs together on the bus after school in San Francisco. We looked like them as much as we could and to this day I know every single lyric by heart. Poetry, brilliance, sheer romanticism in the tradition of the great Romantics . Love you all forever, thank you Robert Smith especially for helping me get through my teens and early twenties. You are always brilliant and relevant and mold breaking.

High School . I found them at 15 on the Boys Don't Cry album, tangentially through Siouxsie Sioux. Quoting Camus in Killing an Arab. I put a blacklight in my ceiling lamp, spray painted my dresser silver, and threw down a Persian carpet. I saw them live twice, both around 1985, once at the Oakland Coliseum where we rode up in the elevator with the band. So amazing. I remember my friend Ari and I singing every song of theirs together on the bus after school in San Francisco. We looked like them as much as we could and to this day I know every single lyric by heart. Poetry, brilliance, sheer romanticism in the tradition of the great Romantics . Love you all forever, thank you Robert Smith especially for helping me get through my teens and early twenties. You are always brilliant and relevant and mold breaking.
This remains one of the best songs and arrangements ever by one of the best bands ever. Robert's voice absolutely kills to this day and remains such an original. I could be having the worst f*cking day ever and listening to this song will help lift my spirits. God bless Robert Smith and The Cure.
