Any suggestions.....I'm assuming the alternator but I'm not sure it's a 2019 nissan sv 1.8L ....i just jumped it and it started and I let it run for over a hour. Triple A said the battery was good starter was good but the alternator wasn't putting out power. Could it be a fuse??
My 2014 Sentra is about to hit 90k, it’s been a really good car. Drive sensibly and keep the RPM below 4K, they hold up pretty well. I change the cvt fluid every 60k and use sport mode on hills.
I bought a 2019 sentra in 2019 brand new. I have stuck with the dealership ever since. So far no issues except recall. Nosafety issues or stalling. It's currently at 39,000 mile range
I am owning a Nissan Sentra 2014, I think am the 3rd owner and still drives smooth after reaching 183kKM. I have heard from different mechanics to get it replaced with another car, due to having a CVT transmission. If Nissan really makes a CVT transmission that fragile and weak, they might lose lots of customers.
I have a 2014 sentra. These transmissions are so bad, there was a class action lawsuit. Sell it or trade it in for a Toyota. Toyota have the best transmissions made by the best Japanese company called assine.
I've made a lot of bad decisions in my 37 years on this planet, but I would have to say that buying my 2014 Nissan Sentra would have to be the worst one of all.
Wait, I have a 2014 Nissan Sentra, what issues were you having (and about what mileage did you get them at, if you happen to know) I'm at 64493 miles I think
2019 since 10/16/20 replaced MAF… need rear struts/shocks $385.28-Alignment notice wear of front tires $129.95- i’m at 104,029 Fuel GDI -$139.95 and Tune Up -$321.80 and couple of new front tires ..🤔… wishing i had the strength in my hands to replace coils and spark plugs seem pretty easy to do . I once replaced a window motor in a Dodge Durango and replace the headlights … these videos makes life easier affordable and give you info you need when these shops try and tell you how much work they put in for some of these services
I’ve had everything in this video and more repaired/replaced in my 2016 Nissan Sentra S. Thankfully all was covered under the manufactures warranty, extended warranty, and power terrain warranty. 🤦🏻♂️ I’ve been a loyal customer of the Nissan Sentra brand since their 1996 model. Gone are the days of Nissan being considered a reliable brand. I finally learned my lesson. I will buy Nissan no more.
My Nissan Sentra 2014 has 85,000 miles. Currently dealing with MAF sensor issues which I think I got it fixed, around 45-50k miles the AC failed, luckily I still had warranty and saved over $3000 in repairs! Those were the only major issues I have had and hope to not get any more.
My 2017 sentra has 159,000 miles, bought it new, and I've only replaced the fuel pump at 159,000 miles. I think the suspension is very noisy even since new and it has some electrical issues. But it runs smoothly and no CVT issues so far.
Dude my eg and ek civics were always my most reliable cars. Great cars, great gas mileage and CHEAP to fix anything. Hell, you can find replacement single cams for 400 bucks.
Catalytic Converter! My Nissan Sentra 2015 100k miles was always slow to accelerate, but during a trip in the hills of Pennsylvania it broke. It wouldn't go past 60 MPH. I think it was sold to me with a bad catalytic converter. Here is my story: I had the MAF sensor P0101, changed the sensor. Nothing. Took it to the Nissan dealership, and they wanted to change the Throttle Body Control. I changed it myself. Nothing. I changed the PVC valve even though it was working properly. Nothing. I changed the filter. Nothing. I took it back to the Nissan Dealership and they said "Brake booster." I agreed to pay the $1600 even though I knew damn well it wasn't the brake booster. Then they come back with, "It wasn't the brake booster. But we found out it was the catalytic converter. We took the catalytic converter off, drove around with it, and it works fine. Your catalytic converter melted inside and is restricting the flow of exhaust. So we'll only charge you $2000 for both the brake booster and the catalytic converter."
I got a 2013 Sentra used back in 2017. The CVT transmission failed at nearly 40K miles. Thankfully the car was under warranty. I do regular maintenance on it all the time. I take really good care of it as well--never did any rigorous or stupid driving behavior in it. Another issue with this Sentra would be the wheel bearings would come loose. That happened to me as well, but thankfully it was under warranty.
Just got a 2015 Sentra with 70k miles on it pre owned. Happy to say that I have a bumper to bumper up to 100k miles and a lifetime powertrain warranty.
Thanks for the video! I have 135k miles on my 2014. Replaced the struts as a regular maintenence item at about 100k. Haven't had any of these issues...yet anyway lol
Im at around 80k with my 2014 right now. How much did it cost to replace the struts? Hoping to keep this bad boy for at least 5 more years, no issues so far.
How much did the OEM nissan struts cost each? I just went to the dealership yesterday and he quoted me $965.00 for one strut ? This is for 2013 Sentra with only 39, 120 miles.
@@mca2642 I usually change it every 30k or so miles just cause these cvt transmissions run hot and burn up the fluid fast compared to regular automatic transmissions. If you just take care of it it will probably be alright
The number one thing to avoid problems in these cars is to buy one with a manual transmission. I bought a '16 with 32k miles and she's at 168k miles. Just standard maintenance and one time I cleaned the maf sensor.
I change my transmission fluid every 40k miles hoping it could survive a little longer than average. i do know they tend to die around 100k maybe even less. right now i'm at 45k.
I have a 2013 with 66,400 miles, just got it, hopefully it’s reliable enough, im more of a Honda or Toyota Guy, but the price was fair, my gramps always said “As long as you do maintenance you’ll have a ever lasting car”. The transmission does suck hella bad, I’m so used to driving my trailblazer, but that crap gave a lot of problems.
My 2017 has been a good one I bought it new in 2018 haven’t never had any issues other than the noise coming from windows when on highway other than that mine never gave me any issues at all and very very excellent gas mileage best I ever seen
My 2015 Nissan Sentra SV transmission just blew at 45k miles in the middle of the freeway and almost caused a terrible terrible accident that could’ve ended mine and my sisters life. Seriously wanting to trade it in and get a Toyota/Honda.
Had a 2007 Nissan Versa: 240,000 kms on it. Missed reg maintenance a few times but never had a single issue with the CVT ...Actually may have been second most reliable car I have ever owned (1997 Toyota Paseo #1)
Really? I just bought a 2014 sentra since my sonata is getting up there on age and mileage ..I'm nervous from seeing all these videos and comments ..is there any thing u can suggest to keep mine safely running ..I have grandparents and dont want them getting hurt in my new car if they use it..or myself esp since I'm always on the road for doctor appts
I recently got a 2018 Sentra with 56k miles, it’s my first car. And since driving off the lot every time I accelerated or decelerated, I heard a clunk. So I took it to the dealer yesterday, and they gave me bad news. I need a brand new transmission…. The good news is that it’s covered completely under the warranty. It’ll take a week so they gave me a loaner car for the time being.
I have 2014 Nissan sentral, bought used at 20k km, now it has 210k on it, still run Strong. It is very reliable only u knew how to drive CVT transmission. Overall happy with my purchase, I do my oil change every 10k and trains fluid very 120k.
Owned 2015 altima, 2015 sentra. Both had cvt failures in under 80k. Morale of the story, stay away from any nissan with a cvt transmission like the plague.
Yup 2014 sentra transmission failure at 60k miles. Was told that they did a recall that i missed by 2 months because they admitted notices were delayed because of covid. They covered 75% of it.
The problem with the transmission is that the fluid gets really thin in the summer, I think if it had a better cooler for the fluid it would have less problems.
I had a 91 Nissan Maxima that i bought brand new. My co-worker at the time kept saying Nissans didn't last many miles. That Maxima SE was the one of the smoothest and best driving cars that i have owned, but just as my old co-worker said, when it hit 90,000 miles,it went into self destruct mode. Transmission, oil leaks, electrical problems like windows, transmission interlock, etc, etc. That experience soured my affinity for anything Nissan except the small trucks. Every Mechanic report i have read says they are unreliable and give big problems when they get mileage.
@@saurin00 the car is awful, I agree. 47K miles and I already had to change the transmission. I’ve also have had constant MAF sensor problems, intake air duct vibration, and just driving in general is not that great. NEVER driving again
Nissan approved a 90% payment for the replacement of my 2014 Nissan Sentra that had 60K miles. I should be getting it back soon. Should I expect this problem to re-surface if I'm a great and controlled driver?
I enjoyed the video sir! Although I do not own a Nissan I brought this particular video up because it addresses some issues that I’m helping someone with! I follow A1 auto Because it is a great and reliable source of information for many vehicles! Thank you for all that you guys at a1 auto🇺🇸👍
My wife's sentra of this vintage only had the first 3 problem. 1st one we just cleaned the maf but we do have to change the pcv valve, cvt in ours was replaced by the dealer at the 42k mile mark and the new one is going strong at 97K miles. We replaced all struts and the front mounts twice. But the front mounts still make a pop noise on the first turn and it goes away. Other than that, it's been a rock solid reliable car.
I had a 1998 p11 primera with Nissans first gen cvt as far as I know. I changed the fluid every 30000kms and it finally gave out at 297000kms after 10years of ownership. Hyper cvt was def known to fail quicker than the modern xtronic so take it how ever you like but thrash a cvt and never service the transmission then don’t expect longevity.
I'm a Nissan Technician. Ecm update pretty much always fixes the P0101 code. Yes the Cvt's have issues. I've never seen any strut issues with them, I've never had an abs code on one, and I have never had to replace a coil on one. Just my 2 cents for working on them for 5 years.
What would cause my 2016 sentra to buck and rpms jump when traveling on an incline between 90km and 100km? It dont always do it, mainly after driving for a while, seems to be fine for the first hour of driving.
The only problem is the Nissan Front-Wheel Drive Transmission. Do not buy any Nissan with a CVT. Last November, Nissan admitted in court that their Jatco CVTs are defective! And they are still using the same defective design for all of their CVTs. DO NOT BUY ANY NISSAN WITH A JATCO CVT! You have been warned!
Put a larger aftermarket transmission cooler on the cvt no problems they have an inadequate transmission cooler from the factory or buy a manual nissan you will have no problems
I have a 2014 Sentra. I am always trying to keep up with maintenance on it. I have a lot of service records on it. I had to have it towed to the repair shop several times. First was the PCV valve throwing MAF codes. Car would start and then shut off immediately after. Second was the rear wheel brake cylinders exploded leaving a pool of brake fluid under the car, had no brakes. Had to tow it to the shop in a hurry. The third time what happened was when I got to the shop for routine maintenance, the mechanics found both control arms cracked, had them replaced for $1500. Been in a minor accident twice with this car and total repair bill for this car was over $9000. Aside from other problems like AC completely failing, had to replace an HVAC hose and the compressor for $1350. Both struts and shocks were replaced costing around $1100. New all 4 tires around $750 all season. Needed snows for winter, paid around $900 for 4. Multiple suspension components failing - creaking, clunking, rattling when going over small bumps and potholes. I guess it’s cheap? Uh uh, nope. I am no mechanic, but stuff braking down on this car is unbelievable. Every time transmission fluid is replaced on it, it smells like burnt wires. Have to open windows to let the smell out of the car. When it’s something simple like air filter, I do it myself to save some money, but speaking about the cabin air filter, it is in one of the stupidest places. Its on the left passenger side near the feet, behind the glove box. You basically have to remove the entire glovebox assembly to get access to it. For some simple repairs, I do it myself, with some instructions - replacing the MAF sensor, checking the fluids, replacing the headlight or taillight bulbs, checking tire pressure, changing the air filters, replacing a flat tire… I am also planning to replace the ignition coils on it too in another 10000 miles, on my own. It currently has 110500 miles. I would not recommend owning a Sentra, but it’s just my opinion. If you’re struggling financially like me, get a Toyota Corolla, much better choice, or any other Toyota or Honda. Nissan quality has gone down the drain. I don’t know what happened to them, but they need to return that quality work for cars they make. Because personally, I don’t want to see another Nissan again, until they bring that back.
ALSO, if the Sentra won't go past 40 mph or it seems like you have reduced acceleration (with the exterior lights switch to on) check the taillight assembly for moisture accumulating along the inside! If so, you are going to need to replace the entire assembly to correct this issue. From what I was told, it shorts out the LED panel which misleads the computer in translation that the brakes are being applied while accelerating which why you have reduced power. I found this to be TRUE! I replaced my rear passenger assembly and I haven't had any issues since. . .I also believe NISSAN was cognitive of this because the next model that came out (along with the Altima) no longer have LED taillight assemblys.
I just looked into this problem for my vehicle (2015 Nissan Sentra S), and you were right. My right tail light had moisture, I unplugged it, and it solved the acceleration issue. I was able to disable the brake light for now while I order a whole new tail light. Thanks for the advice because I was having trouble finding out why my car would not accelerate quickly when my headlights were on.
2015 Sentra bought new: 30K - transmission replaced (under warranty). Would fail to go above 40mph. Happened to me on the highway. NOT SAFE. 40K - Airfilter and intake vibration 50K - Air Compressor failed 70K - EVAP issues. Tube coming out of fuel tank leaking, mpg went down a lot. Replaced gas cap and then it was still complaining after that. Always taken to dealership and maintained as suggested. Shittiest car ever.
Nissan recommends 60k mile Interval to replace the transmission oil, if you wait that much the transmission won't make it to the second oil change. I'd do every 20k mile. In addition of install an additional cooler for the cvt.
I didn’t read this in the manual but I’ve just kind of felt it intuitively? Lol but I don’t like to push my car too hard on the rpms and can’t stand I just cringe when anyone else drives my car because they allllll hit 4k when initially accelerating and it’s just so unnecessary. Drives me nuts
Nissan Sentra 60k miles, no rough driving or heavy loads. Seems a LOT like transmission issues…. But, im hopeful that this tune up will correct the issues.
Manual trans is always the way to go over a CVT.(junk) I sold my '02 Sentra with 260k miles on it with the stock clutch still in it! And i know for a fact that it made it at least 300k with it because I know who I sold it to
Still driving my 16 with 247,800. 5 trans services, normal oil/filter changes. Struts & Shocks and ball joints. Two sets of plugs. Just replaced the serpentine belt ..I wanted way to long at that one but I got it before it broke 🤠👍🏻
Right now am having a issue with the transmission 🤦🏾♂️. My first visit to the dealership told me that the transmission wasn't a problem, but my second visit told me it was. So am getting a second opinion. Wish me luck
I totally regret buying my 2017 Sentra. The transmission started failing a little after 100K miles. Nissan refused to give me a new transmission. Two Nissan dealers near me confirmed that the transmission was failing and quoted me $4,450 for replacing. I’m mad as hell. I’ll never buy another Nissan and I tell everyone I know to never buy one. I should have bought a Corolla instead as I was initially planning to do.
That is crazy. I was planning to buy a used 2009 Nissan versa hatchback for $4k. I've been searching a lot of reviewers about Nissans transmission reliability. this just sucks.
Reading a lot of the comments, I must be extremely lucky. i have a 2016 nissan sentra SV that i bought at 40k almost 5 years ago, now at 123k miles. It has been incredibly reliable, and has not been trouble at all. Struts finally went out(damn small town railroad tracks with deceptively large bumps leading to the tracks), but other than changing the brake pads and routine engine oil changes, nothing has failed me yet. The transmission seems to not wanna catch right away anymore when coming to stop signs and rolling off, but reverse and everything else are still tight, i just slowly apply the accelerator when coming out of stop which seems to help slow whatever degradation that is happening in the cvt til i can afford to do something about it. I must have the miracle sentra, considering the apparent nightmares other people seem to have with theirs. i guess morale of the story is, its not a hot rod, and treating it like such will be your own downfall.
My dad says his 2017 cvt fluid is leaking. I’m going to check it for him this weekend. Probably just gonna get new fluid for him. A pan gasket and the 2 filters and hope that will solve the leak
After carefully watching this guy in the video, I still have no clue what he did other than remove the battery and point the lousy camera at a hose while his hand wrestled with something beneath the battery stand. Bravo man. Time for me to go look for another repair video. 🤨😡🤬
Lol hahaha the car barely has any miles on it lol reply back at 115,000 miles when your CVT transmission fails; then you join the class action lawsuit against Nissian trying to get them to replace the trans. If they don't its about $4,300 and only a 12 month 12,000 miles lol
From all the comments I just ask two questions. First is whose really telling the truth, Second question is,.if you take proper care of the car such as do good servicing and replace parts will the car actually last for long especially with the CVT transmission
Bought my 2015 Nissan Sentra brand new. Around 30k miles car would jerk and shake a bit during acceleration and if I hit 80 mph on the freeway the RPM’s would go up and down. Pretty scary. I had the transmission fluid entirely changed at 60k miles and all the problems went away. I’m at 100k miles now and I have a motor boat sound in the front now that gets loud at 30 mph up to 60 mph. Some are telling me it’s a leaking exhaust or flex pipe and others telling me could be the trans again.
I had to replace the air diaphragm in mine because CarMax tried to replace it with a cheap aftermarket one. Got an OEM and it's been driving fine at 58k miles. Also I have it with a 6speed manual. It feels like Fisher price garbage with the electric throttle body, but it's way better than a CVT
Don’t forget the P0183 Fuel Temperature Sensor issue. My 2019 Sentra started to have this issue after 46,000 miles in addition to the Mass airflow sensor.
Thanks guys, yet not sure why you would even think we consumers would or even could tackle these repairs. Next, are these problems frequent? I have a 2016 Sentra that is not exhibiting any of these issues, yet going on a road trip in July from Florida to Maine and back. Suggestions? Thanks.
Hi! Hoping to get some advice? I have a 2013 sentra, 62k owned by one person. Recently when I turn, I feel a hard vibration in my gas pedal as well as hearing it. Any advice on what it could be? Thanks in advance!

I have a 2015 Nissan Sentra S trim level... I hear a knock when I remove my foot from the gas and I hear it again I touch the gas even at around 20-30km. The sound comes from the axle area. There isn't any click when turning. Any suggestions?
Good day, I own a 2018 Nissan Sentra (Thailand) with over 227,000 km on with minor wear and tear issues. The vehicle is regularly maintained and serviced. However, I would like to know if there is a manual transmission for this particular model of Sentras as I don't want to encounter the common CVT transmission issue seen on UA-cam videos.
These are the worst cars car rental companies have gotten in the 2010s CVT issues and throttle body issues All types of problems with these cars 🚘 Thanks for sharing
I got lucky with my 2013 Nissan Sentra. The CVT Transmission went out at 70,000 miles and they wanted $4800 for it. They said they would go in half with me to replace it. I found out there was a class action lawsuit and ended up getting into it and got my money back.
If you suspect that you have bad spark plug coils the reader will tell you which one. Mines just got coded for number 4 and I was able to replaced it along with all my spark plugs.
I’m having an issue that sounds similar to the ctv portion of your video. Around 40-50, it will stop accelerating and cruise, but the rpms will continue to go up even too red line with no speed increase. Could that be the CVT transmission? I’ve read as well about possibly the ctv idle air sensor causing this problem as well.
I've had this problem since I've owned my sentra. If I'm going up and down on a hilly road, or interstate. My car will randomly loose power, and I'll have to floor it to accelerate.. it will also be almost 700 rpms higher to maintain the same speed it was just doing. Then an hour or so, it will fix itself. Worst road trip car ever
Any videos on 2019 nissan sentra sv manifold exhaust replacement i haven't seen one anywhere and need to replace one but I'm trying to figure out the best way to get to it
Great video mate. I have Sentra 2016 almost 3 years , I had one MAF sensor and cleaned, also I had problem with top strunt and replaced it. So far I'm happy with this vehicle as spare parts are cheap
The cylinder head is new and I changed the radiator too...for a few days water was pouring out of the thermos after turning it off, then I changed the radiator lid and it was fixed, but now my water pipes are swollen.
Got issues with the cvt its throwing three codes U3000 U3400 and P2859 any idea on what that could be and cost to fix? 105k miles and serviced regularly every 30k miles it slips in and out of gear around 35-40 mph. They told me the jerking was the lower torque mount but i replaced it and it did the jerking after it im just trying to wait on replacing the cvt unless its necessary please help me

I have a 2019 and am worried because of the transmission. but I've noticed that a lot of people who have trouble with the transmission also don't do the maintenance. Then again some people say they have done the regular maintenance but they don't specifically say if they have done the transmission maintenance and they still have had transmissions fail.
There was a class action lawsuit with Nissan regarding the transmissions. Do a Google search for class action suit Nissan Cvt transmission. There was a settlement done where they extended the warranty or reimbursed you for the repair on certain vehicles like these. The settlement was finalized 01/2020. I think this may be something you should look into. topclassactions.com/lawsuit-settlements/closed-settlements/931402-nissan-transmission-class-action-settlement/
Have 2015 Sentra. Car wouldn’t start @59351 miles it was a bad fuel pump. Was using chevron then switched to Mobil gas. That mite have been the problem. Change the front struts @63600 miles and rear shocks at the same time. Other than that car has been good. Every 30000 got the transmission fluid changed.
I just replaced a 2014 nissan sentra evaporative core and the car is it blowing cold at its fullest i recharged ac so everything should work. Yet MAX ac button does not turn on. Pls HELP
So the A/C works but its just the MAX a/c button that is not working? did you plug all the connectors back into the HVAC controller? also the MAX a/c button just places the vents to face setting and activates in-cabin recirculation so you dont really need that button to work as you could just manually do that by pressing the buttons.
I have a Sentra 2015 model year which had sludge issue and did flushing already. But i feel the pick up speed is less while accelerating than before. Would it be affect engine life in near feature? what could be the solution to increase pickup speed capacity. Secondly A/c switch having issues while turn it on. when we put 1 till 3 it's not working at beginning when it moved to 4 air-conditioner starts... what could be the problem. does it required to change switch knob or full set of switch. Please assist me to know.
+Ahmed Aslam Thanks for checking us out! If there is a build up of sludge that can definitely effect the engine down the road. We would recommend having a mechanic look into this issue and get it taken care of before damaging the engine. You may have a bad resistor causing the AC not to work on lower speeds. This is also something that may have other causes as well so troubleshooting this would let you know if you need a new resistor or the AC switch assembly replaced.

I had a MAF code pop up on mine, but after changing the sensor the car still will not start.
Have you gone through something similar?
My 2015 sentra had a transmission replacement at 45000 miles lucky it was still under warranty. No other problems yet and it is almost at 95000 miles.
If your sentra model 2015 how still under warranty!
How many years have warranty the Nissan sentra

My 2017 sentra has 159,000 miles, bought it new, and I've only replaced the fuel pump at 159,000 miles. I think the suspension is very noisy even since new and it has some electrical issues. But it runs smoothly and no CVT issues so far.
@@mca2642 every 30k, mine just hit 169k
Yes the suspension makes a lot of noise.
same here, no issues at all. trans fluid changed and still strong at 153k
I have 190k. only plugs and shocks replaced. Excellent car.

1) Clear coat failure
yep, that's it
Dude my eg and ek civics were always my most reliable cars. Great cars, great gas mileage and CHEAP to fix anything. Hell, you can find replacement single cams for 400 bucks.
I had a 99 Honda Civic Coupe. Car would shake and vibrate once I accelerated from a stop. Ended up being the starter clutch kit. Problem solved.
Catalytic Converter!
My Nissan Sentra 2015 100k miles was always slow to accelerate, but during a trip in the hills of Pennsylvania it broke. It wouldn't go past 60 MPH. I think it was sold to me with a bad catalytic converter. Here is my story:
I had the MAF sensor P0101, changed the sensor.
Read the contract thoroughly...these companies aren't in it to lose money.
My 97 pathfinder still running like a champ. 23 yrs old nissan!

+A Guy and His Projects Thanks for checking us out and the feedback!
Im at around 80k with my 2014 right now. How much did it cost to replace the struts? Hoping to keep this bad boy for at least 5 more years, no issues so far.
Check out partsgeek for the shocks and struts. They have the whole assembly pretty cheap from kyb and they ride well
How much did the OEM nissan struts cost each? I just went to the dealership yesterday and he quoted me $965.00 for one strut ? This is for 2013 Sentra with only 39, 120 miles.
@@mca2642 I usually change it every 30k or so miles just cause these cvt transmissions run hot and burn up the fluid fast compared to regular automatic transmissions. If you just take care of it it will probably be alright
You probably were the best student in your class, you are extremely knowledgeable...I must subscribe , thank you
The number one thing to avoid problems in these cars is to buy one with a manual transmission. I bought a '16 with 32k miles and she's at 168k miles. Just standard maintenance and one time I cleaned the maf sensor.
If Nissan doesn't do something about those terrible Jatco transmissions they are not going to survive.

Renault has killed Nissan.
Honestly I am surrounded by CVTs in the middle east and no issues.... there are more problems with Magna altimax transfer cases on BMWs than the CVTs
I think Nissan would rather go down with the ship than make changes to the transmissions.

Sell it and run away as fast as you can before the transmission fails.
Lol I get that same noise too!
Do you know why that is?
My 2015 Nissan Sentra SV transmission just blew at 45k miles in the middle of the freeway and almost caused a terrible terrible accident that could’ve ended mine and my sisters life. Seriously wanting to trade it in and get a Toyota/Honda.
Toyota an Honda use the jatco cvt transmission as well. Not all cars but some of them.o

My 2007 Altima was probably the most reliable car I had. No major problems whatsoever and had the car for almost 13 years!

Yeah, having owned one before, I won't be buying another.
They're not from the same category!!!! Camry VS Altima
I have the same car , 😭
How did you trade it in?
Hello. I need some positive comments like this. I just bought one Sentra 2014.
Did you ever change the fluid?
Ive had a 2013 6 speed brand new till now and its been an amazing car! I'm really thinking of getting the nismo edition.

how many miles?
I have the sr turbo fun car got the CVT as well tho
I have a 2014 Sentra and I’ll make sure to keep a eye out for these
The problem with the transmission is that the fluid gets really thin in the summer, I think if it had a better cooler for the fluid it would have less problems.
Worst car I've ever bought, but awesome video and explanation! Thank you!

Totally disagree with you!!!!
Strongly Agreed. So far I've replaced transmission, struts and the AC system. Will never buy a Nissan again for LIFE.

Does it tend to happen on a lot of 2016s? Or unless you keep the maintenance you’ll be fine?

Just bought a 2015 Nissan Sentra with almost 80k miles. Hope I don’t get a transmission problem!!
+Emily Linda Thanks for the feedback!
Thank you - yes I like all the information I can get before I take my car for repairs or replacements.
I wish I would've seen this before I bought mine..now I'm nervous to have my grandparents even drive it long distance
Would have been great if i had Seen your warning before i've bought one lol😂
My transmission blew up at 66k all regular services performed, what a piece of junk.
What year?
How many times did you have the cvt fluid changed before it blew?
this just happened to me
maybe you treat it like race car
Mine blew up at 20k you lucky duck.
2015 Sentra bought new:
30K - transmission replaced (under warranty). Would fail to go above 40mph. Happened to me on the highway. NOT SAFE.
40K - Airfilter and intake vibration
50K - Air Compressor failed
70K - EVAP issues. Tube coming out of fuel tank leaking, mpg went down a lot. Replaced gas cap and then it was still complaining after that.
Always taken to dealership and maintained as suggested. Shittiest car ever.
You expert missed it:
Wheel seed sensor codes can be created by low brake pads in the rear!!
Don’t ask me why. I just observed, checked and LEARNED!
+pepeshopping Thanks for the tip! We'll pass this info along to our production team.
I wanna ask why so bad tho
Nissan recommends 60k mile Interval to replace the transmission oil, if you wait that much the transmission won't make it to the second oil change. I'd do every 20k mile. In addition of install an additional cooler for the cvt.

The manual tells you not to go over 3k rpm for a reason. 80k still no issues just bought a 2019. Do not go over 3k rpm and you will be fine
Why would you buy a car that limits how much you can use it
Thank you, we have in our family and have replaced the mass airflow sensor already so this video is very helpful !!
The problematic CTV and the plasticky interiors are what's ruining Nissan in my opinion.
Its CVT!😁
Nissan Sentra 60k miles, no rough driving or heavy loads. Seems a LOT like transmission issues…. But, im hopeful that this tune up will correct the issues.
One you didn't mention is the tail light fuse usually need changing too seen many sentra with this issue
My 2013 sentra is the best car ever. Full manual transmission. But the rear brakes and hand brake sucks after 165k miles
Hell yah! I own the same car, any problems with it so far? I’m only at 80k
I have a 2017 sentra also and constant issues.
This car had a class action lawsuit for this issue. I would investigate further
The CVT does fail after 90k but only if youre using the sports mode on and off. If u take good care of it it will last for a while
Reading a lot of the comments, I must be extremely lucky. i have a 2016 nissan sentra SV that i bought at 40k almost 5 years ago, now at 123k miles.

Key word: "yet".
Lol hahaha the car barely has any miles on it lol reply back at 115,000 miles when your CVT transmission fails; then you join the class action lawsuit against Nissian trying to get them to replace the trans. If they don't its about $4,300 and only a 12 month 12,000 miles lol
Sell while you can, friend has a 2013 one , 102,000 miles and his transmission went out. A lot of money to replace it.
From all the comments I just ask two questions. First is whose really telling the truth,
Second question is,.if you take proper care of the car such as do good servicing and replace parts will the car actually last for long especially with the CVT transmission
2017 Nissan Sentra. 145,000 miles. No problems. Do plan to have transmission fluid replaced, etc.

The only issue I had with my 2017 was bad o2 sensor at around 1.5k miles. Now I have 30k not a lot but I drive it every day no other issue

Well I helped myself on the transmission front I suppose I bought the 6 speed manual version. 🙂
I have one as well. The only problem I've experienced so far is the mass air flow sensor.
For all the issues the Nissan CVT era has had since 2007, their manual transmissions have apparently stayed solid throughout.
I got a manual too!
This is well made and informative
I got lucky with my 2013 Nissan Sentra. The CVT Transmission went out at 70,000 miles and they wanted $4800 for it. They said they would go in half with me to replace it. I found out there was a class action lawsuit and ended up getting into it and got my money back.
Nice video. Don't forget the fusible link and general connections to the battery.
Also front windshield ... I had it replaced three times within a month...went over a pot hole and it cracked

I got a 2015 Nissan Sentra i just replaced my transmission 2 weeks ago because of the cvt
Was the transmission replaced under the warranty?
how many miles ? did you do the 30,000 mile transmission fluid change/ maintenance?
I have a 2019 and am worried because of the transmission. but I've noticed that a lot of people who have trouble with the transmission also don't do the maintenance. Then again some people say they have done the regular maintenance but they don't specifically say if they have done the transmission maintenance and they still have had transmissions fail.
There was a class action lawsuit with Nissan regarding the transmissions. Do a Google search for class action suit Nissan Cvt transmission. There was a settlement done where they extended the warranty or reimbursed you for the repair on certain vehicles like these. The settlement was finalized 01/2020. I think this may be something you should look into. topclassactions.com/lawsuit-settlements/closed-settlements/931402-nissan-transmission-class-action-settlement/
how much did that cost?
Have 2015 Sentra. Car wouldn’t start @59351 miles it was a bad fuel pump. Was using chevron then switched to Mobil gas. That mite have been the problem. Change the front struts @63600 miles and rear shocks at the same time. Other than that car has been good. Every 30000 got the transmission fluid changed.
+nameurchannel Thanks for the feedback!
Transmissions are garbage. Have a 2018 and two years later had to have transmission replaced, and struts replaced. Thank god I have a warranty.
+Robert Ramos Thanks for the feedback!
Hopefully you figured it out by now, but this sounds like your blower motor resistor is blown out. Pretty cheap and easy fix. Hope it helps!
