I very much appreciated this video for how you handled the cables and eyes. Some of your color choices like Esshin Gray was so neat for the cables or the highlighting for the leather details helped me out a ton.
The gradient on that space cowboys cloak is absolutely wild.
Sadly not feedback for the video because I absolutely loved the end product, but a question I’ve been asking lately is
“What’s the current focus you’re working on to take your painting up to the next level / skill set you’re actively working on to improve your toolkit?”
For me, I’m hammering wet blending at every opportunity.
I’d love to know what someone at your calibre does next.
This was great, it's such a struggle to paint admech in a timely manner
One thing I think that would be good for you videos like this is if you put a list of paints used in the description. Will make it easier when going back to review the video a second time 😊👍🏻
@@christopherharrington1031 thanks man
All descriptions already have a complete list of the paints used grouped by paint brand. Thanks 👍
You know what I love in your videos? There is no unnecessary drama, weird or childish behavior. Just strick into the point with useful tips. Keep going man.
I like this guy too. But who are you watching that’s painting miniatures involving drama and childish behavior? That seems hyperbolic.
And a wonderful taste and volume to the background music. Bravo
Its difficult to think of any other painter who consistently puts out such accessible, helpful content
Thank you 🙏
I really appreciate that 🙂
I love how you are the first that made a video about how thin should a paint be. Clear, easy and straight to the point. Amazing.
I’m a WW2 hobbyist myself, but really enjoyed seeing the basing and detail work on this video.
Man, I don't know what it is about your painting videos, but they are such a joy to watch. The vibe is calm, relaxed, and encouraging. Nothing is too drawn out, but there aren't any "now draw the owl" moments either. I love watching your process and especially how are you attack a complex model like this one. Keep up the great work, the stuff is top shelf.
Thank you so much.
I do my best to avoid those "now draw the owl" moments, so it's good to hear I'm achieving that.
I try and strike a balance between demonstrating the step and keeping the pace moving so as to not bore people. It's often quite tricky to say the least :)
Thanks for watching, really glad to hear you enjoyed
I love your guides, cause you can relax, while you paint through a miniature.
Would love to see some Leviathan stuff in the next video. Maybe a cute tyranid?! :)
I don't own a single AdMech model but Brushstroke made another video so I'm excited!
Haha that’s what I like to hear!
To be fair, I always try to put useful tips and recipes in my videos which should apply to all minis not just the topic mini.
In this case, it’s worth it to almost see me throw a whole tub of weathering powder over my studio.
Even now I hold my breath watching it 🤣
Its always impressive to me when you look at professionnals how fluid and smooth their movements are
I love seeing admech get some love! You paint with such a unique but familliar style, everything is broken down in these videos so concisely, keep up the fantastic work
Edit: Potentially you could in a future video paint different admech forge worlds using skitarii miniatures, although if you're looking at different schemes in one video it may potentially not fit that well in your style
It's so beautiful
Thank you 🙏
I've just recently started getting into warhammer, and I've been eyeing the adeptus mechanicus for a while, and this video definitely helped me figure out where to get started! All your videos have been great for helping me build up steam in my painting, and I appreciate you making this kind of content for people like me! And the model looks amazing man!!
Thanks so much for supporting the channel and taking the time to add this comment. It’s really great to hear my videos are having such a positive effect on your confidence and enjoyment of the hobby.
Happy painting 👍
Most channels just tell me how to do things. I love how you educate me on the process of what should be going on so I can better understand why it doesn't work on my end
The sand pushed by Cerberis' foots just look so nice.
Amazing job on this model! The brightness of your colors and how clean the paint flowed for you. No heavy chalky highlights, no stippling to blend from one color to the next, just good color choices, excellently applied. As someone else stated, your videos have such a nice calm positive energy, it is great to watch.
Thanks very much 🙏
Really appreciate your comments
Amazing work !
Thanks very much 👍
I like the punch of blue, it is so vibrant.😊
You mentioned your "how to thin paint video". I have something to say about that.
I've been hobbying with miniature wargames for almost 20 years. Until I watched that video, thinning paint was always magic to me. Sometimes it would go perfectly. More often than not, I'd go from clumpy paint to a glaze. Now I understand the mechanics and the results are repeatable.
Please keep up the quality videos. They are great.
Amazing job, this was such a great model to watch you paint. Your videos have helped teach me a lot about mini painting and have definitely improved my confidence about painting. I absolutely loved your Ultramarine that you did about a year ago, and was wondering if you could paint the new terminator captain or ballistus dreadnought for Leviathan !
Thank you 🙏
It’s so great to hear my videos are having such a positive effect on you.
I will be painting models from the new Leviathan boxset for sure.
What chapter were you thinking would make for a good video topic?
@@BrushstrokePaintingGuides I was honestly hoping to see the Ultramarines again. Your scheme and color selection for them was the best I've ever seen and I plan on tackling it myself! Would love an end product to reference haha
i waited that tutorial video a lot :-) thx
Thanks for watching, sorry for the wait. I hope it was worth waiting for?
@@BrushstrokePaintingGuides no need to give any excuses. The wait is far less that the pleasure of seeing your tutorial. All aspect of it are perfect in my point of vue, and i expect to reach a higher level of painting thx to you 🙂
It's surprising how useful seeing the pots is, I've often watched a video, decided I should grab one of the paints, walked into the store and failed to find it. Being able to picture what I'm looking for helps more than I thought it would.
So I heard recently that the sulphurhound is actually made up of two dismembered human servitors in a pantomime horse configuration, in case you weren't finding it creepy enough.
Fantastic work. Watched while prepping some Skitarii.
Ugh! Yeah, the darkness that is the AdMech is so damn creepy. 💀
@@BrushstrokePaintingGuides it turns out it's an animal that the admech likes to use, it's basically a really big dog(cybercanid) that is brain linked to the rider.
@@thee_pyro3590 cool, thanks for the info. Doesn’t make it any less creepy though 🤣
I swear you’re single handedly converting the community to Scale 75, would definitely like to see some sort of Xenos in the future! Amazing job
Its so nice to see a non GW painting video that folk who haven't got an airbrush can follow.
Nice tutorial. I like that you made a mistake and remedied the mistake. Often online tutorials don't address this and I feel it makes a newer painter feel a little intimidated when they make a mistake. Nicely done!
Thank you.
I agree. I think it’s easy for beginner painters to be fooled into thinking everything should go perfectly all the time and if it doesn’t they’ve done something wrong.
Whereas, painting is in fact a process of constant refinement and correction. 🙂
Shows that even a complex very detailed mini can look good with a nice neat scheme
You videos were the first ones I watched when I got into the hobby and still the ones I go back to figure stuff out when I need help or ideas
Found your channel recently. My son and I are brand new to the hobby. Channels like yours really help us appreciate the painting even more. Thank you
A solid foundation, explaining all the steps clearly, and ending with something fancier in the way of the dust cloud - neat!
I'm getting back into minis and tabletop gaming after 20 years. Your videos are bringing back lost knowledge and adding things I wish I'd known all those years ago. Great explanations and great painting! Nice work with this model.
Got recommended by many of my wargaming friends to this channel, love the general painting guides like thinning your paints
It's great to see something other than space marines. Appreciate your focused well paced tutorials
Love the way you call out the specific brushes as well as the paints being used for each step. Also that the channel has a mix of technique focused and model focused videos.
Whilst painting isn’t generally something easy to listen to in the back ground with your video however I find it quite relaxing
I love how straightforward and easy to follow your videos are.
Adding that dust cloud was geniuse!
Since I have discovered your channel, it is my first place to look at painting tutorials, tips and techniques.
I don't even like the ad mech models that much, but your paint scheme makes it look amazing. Especially the smoothnes and cleanliness, has always, great work!
Honestly i love how grim the mechanicus are, whilst also having a sort of classic scifi aesthetic similar to something you’d see in a 50s b-movie or something, they’re really cool.
I really appreciate your descriptions on why you select a specific brush size for the area you are working on. That helps me get to grips with my brush selections.
As someone who is considering starting a WH40K collection, this tutorial is great! I always loved the look of the AM!
I just went back and rewatched your first video before watching this - amazing how much your video-making has progressed since then while still keeping the quality of the tutorials!
Thank you.
I’m the first to admit I have no real clue what I’m doing when it comes to video making etc, but I’ve tried to improve with each video I make.
I did know from the start though, I didn’t want this channel to be wacky and gimmicky.
I wanted it to just be about the love of painting and the relaxation that brings.
Hopefully, I’ve managed to keep that? 👍
@@BrushstrokePaintingGuides absolutely! Keep up the great work!
@@bamshark thank you 🙏
There are lots of tutorials out there that, at least for me, do more harm than good. They present these amazing minis and sadly a lot of the time all that I feel is that I will never be able to reach that level or get those results.
I love your videos because although it's clear that a great deal of talent is needed I also get the feeling that it is something achievable. My painting has increased a lot since I found by chance your thinning paint video and your channel.
Thank you very much and keep the great work!
I actually really like the Matt finishes of scale colours, the red shows it off perfectly!
Such a joy to see some vibrant adeptus rather than the grim dark. Would love to see sisters next 🙌
it was such a pleasure to see and chat a bit to you are Golden Demon this year, and most see some minis in person! You have managed to master this smoothness especially with the S75 paints!
Hey 🙂 you too.
Thank you
Your one of the best at breaking down realistic paint layering.
I love the robopony glowing eyes, it adds a real menace to an already scary looking cyber-nasty
Really like the way you show all the steps, barring any technical malfunctions, so we see the errors and the experimenting. I tend to enjoy the experimenting part myself and finding things that just work through a bit of trial and error. Keep up the good work.
I’ve really appreciate your way of teaching. You explain from the most basic of knowledge, without talking down to us. Inspiring in and out of mini painting!
I just came to thank you for your videos. As a beginner in the hobby, your work has helped me tons, firstly: to learn how to paint minis, and secondly: to gain the courage to trust my gut and try different paint schemes.
I hope you continue finding success!
You have the best painting guides! Please paint more Admech! Their only saving grace is their super cool models.
Your videos are like guided meditation to me, honestly
I'm always amazed at how flat a finish you get from your paints. Not just how smoothe you make them with water but the finish they end up with. Just solid matte. For your next vid, I'd like to see just how this accomplished.
Came for the crisp, smooth and mat paint eye candy but stayed for the lesson. A clever approach to the hoof prints not being on the base, I'm glad your experiment worked out! Inspired to paint something now, thank you for showing us how you work!
Thanks for watching, glad you found it interesting and has inspired you to paint.
That’s the best feedback I could ever get 😀
I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone point out the horse skull. That was a neat detail to accentuate!
I just started with a friend of mine 40k. He with Astra Militarum and I have the pleasure with the black templars. Your videos about thinning paint and colouring will be a great help for the two of us. Keep going with your great work❤❤❤
Ironically, I am starting to paint a technoarcheologist for my buddy at the moment and never done Ad Mech before and this is really helpful. Thank you.
I absolutely love how your minis always end up looking perfectly clean with a matte finish, and after seeing your colour test 2 post on IG, I'd love to see some heresy white scars. Would love to see how you tackle the crisp white armour and the red designs
Your videos are the best background entertainment to painting up my white scars 👍
Amazing idea with that cotton wool dust cloud! I’ll need to keep that in mind. Nurgle poison clouds jumps into my head straight away!
You paint so smooth it breaks my mind. I hope eventually I can paint like this.
I've been seeing your updates this for a minute now. Part of what got me to start really whatching anything from you, aside from random videos that autoplayed. It turned out beautifully!
I really like that you take the time to show each step. Could you do a video on painting camouflage on models?
I just recently got into mini painting and your guides have been very eye opening and inspiring to me!!! You always do a great job when painting your models while being clear on how to paint them!! I would love to see more videos based off of Star Wars legions!!! Keep up the good content!!
Trial and error are how new techniques are discovered. Definitely think the cotton dust clouds helped set the scene with the model.
Greetings from Lübeck (northern Germany) ❤
I do want to thank you for your very to the point videos. Your tutorials are very clear, better than any I've seen elsewhere
A have watched a lot of tutorials, i like yours because you explain what you are doing and also show everything, not just skip it like a lot of folks.
Admech have such a cool style - I don't have room for another army right now, but videos like this make me want to pick up a couple of models just to paint
Would love to see a Tyrannid video in the future to give me some ideas for Leviathan!!
I think my favorite thing about your models are the cloth parts, they look so great!
I just want to say I really appreciate your videos. You've made a few guides for noodles and it's been a big help !
I really love the break down of the steps here. I think I’ll actually be able to manage a set of these raiders!
That red and gold on the cyber horsey looks so great! Thanks for the scheme!
Never seen anyone use so many paints from different manufacturers. Kind of impressive tbh. End result sure was.
Thanks for watching man.
Haha yeah, I do enjoy trying different brands of paints and as a result I like the particular results different brands give. Scale75 for example gives amazing matte results, which contrast lovely against Darkstar metallics.
I try and keep the majority of the paints I use in my videos to Citadel or Army painter, as they tend to be one people have easy access to. But if I can’t get the result I want with them I’ll go with the other brand and hopefully encourage people to explore those brands and benefit from some amazing paints.
👍
even considering how many of your videos I've watched, it still baffles me how you get your paints not only so smooth, but the finish after
You're clearly just a wizard...
Haha
I assure you there’s no wizardry. It’s all just down to getting good basecoat colours on.
Once you have a smooth base to work from, everything looks good 👍
Appreciate you supporting my channel though. So maybe I should be saying, keep watching and see if you can see how I do it 😉
Great video. Starting a Dark Angels army in 10th so a painting guide video featuring that chapter would be awesome.
Thank you
It’s from a little while ago now, but I do have a Dark Angels paint guide
ua-cam.com/video/1sSZGYfBb1Q/v-deo.html
Feel like I've got into painting at the right time, meaning I can build my army ( smurfs for my first army ) how I want and not have to adapt/change everything. I love your videos then were a huge inspiration for painting and my models, thank you again for all your work and effort you put into your videos the quality and effort shines through. Praise The Emperor! 🎨🖌
I really like how the horse's armor turned out. I've been searching for the perfect red for my Custodes and that may be it
Ridiculously smooth paint work again.
Your paints are so smooth and the bruh control is immaculate. Love to see these videos.
I’ve always wanted to get into Adeptus Mechanicus!! Their designs always stuck out to me, so this is just great!!
Even though I found this video because of the ad for the contest, I'm glad I did, really enjoy these type of videos. It's nice to see someone who is good at their craft and is willing to take time to help others to improve their's.
I'd be interested in seeing some Astra Militarium, Black Templar, or maybe Tao.
The paint jobs are always stellar, you gave me a good hand in my Dark Angels, thanks a bunch.
Definitely going to be rewatching this a few times as I start my AdMech
I’ve just started my foray into painting minis and your videos have been a joy to watch. It’s calming and rather relaxing.
You're videos are very concise and to the point. You provide info from rudimentary to advanced, meaning anyone can follow it based on the concepts you provide.
This was really enjoyable to watch. Happy to see Ad-Mech get some attention, and with such a cool model to boot! It’s videos like these that make me want to start collecting another faction.
The red is absolutely amazing, im 100% gonna use this technique, your colors are so smooth and clean man!
Man that's the cleanest black I've ever seen
I really like your videos. It has given me confidence to just grab my brushes again after a big painting pause. Little things like painting models allows me to calm my anxiety and gives me an focus to forget some worries. Thank you.
Love this build and paint!
Love the step by step breakdown to make the painting process less intimidating. Appreciate it! 😊
I just want to say thank you for this video. I recently started my first 40K army and it just so happens to be ad mech (yes, I’m a masochist). This is an amazingly helpful video. Everything is straight to the point and informational. Well done!
You’re very welcome, I’m really glad you found it useful.
Best of luck with your army 👍
Great guide, thank you!
So clean! I love the base!
Started this hobby this year and now hooked
Sure, I’ll throw my hat in the ring. I recently got my brother back into Warhammer after a big hiatus. He has been going through a lot and it’d be sick to give him a boost to his Dark Angels.
Love your painting tutorials!
Love the colours!!❤
