I took my time with this song to be honest, really wanted to get it right. This is a very emotional track and I absolutely love it. After Pneuma and Descending, this might be my third favourite song.

Beautiful. Very well done. I am pretty sure the part that enters at 1:38 and all similar parts are Justin using an octave/whammy pedal, though. Regardless, you nailed it!

The buildup in this song is one of the best Tool's ever written
lol no. Some of the best vocals on the album, but they're wasted on an otherwise weak and repetitive track.

Haha yes, it's so groovy :) I started learning songs by ear after about 6 years of playing guitar. After learning a lot from very inaccurate tabs on UG and alike I decided to learn them by ear or at least with professional tab books from the artists themselves. I urge you to practice your ear as much as you can, as early as you can. Not necessarily learning the whole thing by ear, but questioning the tabs you are using. It is hard to say how long you would have to be playing to be able to do this, but it takes a lot of practice and repetition, knowing the intervals and which patterns to use etc.

I agree though, I have already come across tabs which sound weird when played, So far I have been learning from some quality lessons and covers on youtube (people like you and Cameron are angels for doing this). @@shreyaspai3791 Absolutely. Cameron, Max and Axe of Creation are the best for TOOL songs. My ear is... how do I put this... pathetic at this point in time, but it has helped me once or twice in terms of tab discrepancies and just generally playing the songs.
