Yeah, I'm pretty sure Adam is using a volume pedal. Although, using the knob would probably sound a lot better on an actual Les Paul, as I'm presuming the pickups and kneck are way better so you'd get a lot more volume with better sound just hammering on. Don't get me wrong, this sounds really good, but it's not quite right. The sound on the swells seems a little bit dampened, and it also seems like Adam might have a tiny amount of reverb going too.

The thing that surprises me here is that you can actually play this on a Epiphone. I know the knob layout is the same but it doesn't have the same feeling on the neck... therein it just changes the whole vibe of the song..the feel and playability of a certain neck on a certain guitar can affect the way a song sounds man. You definitely got your ducks in a row to make this sound right

So I was trying to learn the pre-chorus (3:36) through the chorus (4:39). I slowed the UA-cam settings playback speed to 0.5 and watched it. That part sounds WICKED DOPE at half speed. Thanks for sharing this Max.
It's crazy that there are so many guitar covers so soon. I feel that I personally have not quite digested this song enough for me to have fully understood its overall meaning, purpose and placement amongst the rest of the up coming album. A part of me feels that this song might very well be a combination of every song in the album, or that it was meant (in it's release) to throw the fans off track, by not actually being in the album. Yes, I agree on the digestive part. I've listened to this song at work without end, but actually digesting a Tool song takes hell of a lot of time! I very often find myself listening to Tool and still discovering new ideas - as well music-wise as other things. I really like this song and the overall feel of the material we've heard. Not sure if it's the natural sustain of an lp or because this is my first guitar with humbuckers, but even single notes sound full and rich. Also, I think the epiphone custom pro might be better quality then low level gibsons. I have a Gibson sg with p90s and I hate it.

Awesome work, this is the first video/tab i've seen of Fear Inoculum that actually plays the 3:35 riff correctly (at least it sounds correct), well done. Only thing differently I (me personally) would do is play the C on the 3rd fret of the A string instead of the 10th fret of the (low) D string.

The experience is something I am fond of, but this is so much better. You really have a talent not just your playing ability but this whole presentation is top notch.

Great job man. The only thing that I've noticed is I think the part starting at 8:27, instead of playing a full open D, try just using the open A and upper D string. By upper I mean tonally, like 3rd from the top. Seems to give it a more dissonant sound like what is heard during the chorus.

Great job man. The only thing that I've noticed is I think the part starting at 8:27, instead of playing a full open D, try just using the open A and upper D string. By upper I mean tonally, like 3rd from the top. Seems to give it a more dissonant sound like what is heard during the chorus.
