I've tried this challenge many times and I always die to the Collector... have watched so many videos like this to see how successful players did it, and have also watched the best speedrunner of all-bindings, and I still can't do it! Anyway, congrats on this great achievement - I wonder how many people have done it... (EDIT: Completed it in April 2022, 31 of 93 attempts died to Collector)

i’ve been watching your videos for about a year, maybe close to two now. when i found your highlights channel it made me get back into hollow knight after never beating the game the first time around. it was a 40+ hour save (on switch so you can imagine the extra suffering i was going through lol) where I was sitting right outside the entrance to HK fight and had just put it down and never came back after trying again and again. i picked it up and beat it on the third try after over 2 years of it sitting there unbeaten. needless to say, i bought the game on steam after that and realized i’d learned a lot by watching how you play and by basically playing through the game with training weights on the first time 😅 it’s always been (and always will be) one of my absolute most favorite games, but it was you that gave me a better understanding of it! this is the first time i’ve watched this run and it’s truly incredible and i’m glad you’re a part of this community skurry

41:03, wow that was pretty messed up, I would’ve totally gotten hit there. But what happened was during a balloon spawning attack, a balloon will be delayed if the player is already in its spawning radius, and you happened to leave that radius as it was doing the a different attack, resulting in that balloon to spawn like that.
Useful fact: by using descending dark or desolate dive you can knock dung defender out of the ground and hell also be in a stagger state for a while this DOES NOT work on white defender tho
I always thought Marcoth is saying something like "Meo Mai" which I belive can be translated from Japanese as "Dark King's Dance" (yes I Love anime), but know I don't even know which theory is cooler
The nail bindings reduce your nail strength to only 80% of its power, or simply set to 13 if your nail is a Pure Nail. Fragile/Unbreakable Strength still strengthen your nail though.
I have finally done it, I finally finished P5AB, it was a very loong grind but I've finally done it, fortunately I recorded it all, but it is too heavy, I will see how to upload it later. Some pointers for people out there trying: - Just bc u did P1-4AB it doesn't mean that you are just gonna breeze through P5AB and only strugge with AbsRad, since many fights are still very scary. In your journey to conquer P5AB you will eventually lose a run to each and every single boss in the game at least once, so no shame in losing to Gorb. - Your goal is to make the first 10 fights as fast as possible, after that, your goal is to take care of your lifeblood. - In order to beat The Collector, you MUST get good at Hive Knight so you can have at least 5 lifeblood cores when you get into the fight. I'm thinking of making a full on comprehensive guide on each and every single boss in P5AB, since I think the resources aren't really that available, just a couple videos by Slinky and Remto. I have many other tips that I can share to make each and every single fight both easier and faster, so let me know if you are interested in me making a guide or giving specific tips for each boss.
Hey, I'm right now grinding for P5AB by using bindings mod and segmented P5AB. Suprisingly I've gotten consistent at collector to the point where I consistently only take 1-2 mask of damage, sometimes even hitless if I'm in a good mood. The cost of this is of course other bosses which I now struggle agianst(Marmu, Watcher Knights(Radiant), Sly(Radiant), Hornet Sentinel, Traitor Lord(Radiant), Zote, Pure Vessel(Radiant), Absrad) Radiant means I struggle to do the fights hitless in even HoG with All Bindings
@@fun1692 @Fu N For Marmu what I usually do is camp in a corner of the arena and DDark every time Marmu teleports, since its speed is way too unpredictable. For the Watcher knights what I do is to spam DDark. Get your normal 3 hits with the nail and DDark over them, preferably when they are close to each other so you get max damage. For Sly what I do is to play from really far away and I play that fight exclusively with Nail Arts, both phases, it takes some time but it is effective. I also prioritize dashing through Sly's nail arts since attempting to jump over them results in some seriously janky hitboxes and his great slash can deal two masks of damage, leaving you in a very scary position. For Hornet Sentinel my best tip is to not get nervous and plan each and every attack. I also recommend practicing the healing timings in the HoG. What I mean is that there are several attacks Hornet does so that if you react quickly enough you can get a free heal. Such spots are when she does the attack where she jumps and stops in midair and when she summons those spiky things into the arena. If you notice that she is starting to do those animations early enough you can get a free heal. Another tip for hornet sentinel is that, if you finish the fight with sly with low masks you can dream nail him while he is doing his bow animation and get up to 2 heals if you are fast enough. I usually play the Traitor Lord fight relatively risky, I usually just dash through its attacks a little before they occur so I have shade cloak ready for the next one and abyss shriek when he does his vertical attack, but my best tip for the Traitor Lord fight is to get really good at the Lost Kin and No eyes fights so you can get there while still having lifeblood cores. For Lost kin you can practically stunlock him if you achieve a first stagger animation and while he is staggered do a DDark over him and he well be 2-3 hits away from the next stagger and so on. For the No Eyes fight i use Nail arts a lot. There are two main playstyles against Zote, offensive and defensive. The offensive one consists of using Nail Arts (Cyclone slash) after he teleports through the floor, and the deffensive one is to DDark a lot and abuse the few i-frames it provides. For Pure Vessel and AbsRad you will have to wait for a follow up comment lol

@@fun1692 Yeah, its tough to give specific advice through a youtube comment, that is the reason why I was thinking of making a video series explaining each boss on an AB setting. But believe that what you describe is totally normal, it also happened to me, I also lost several runs to Pure Vessel just bc I got nervous and choked the fight. What I did to counter both of those things was to have the game run in two consoles or systems in parallel. I have HK on both Xbox Series S connected to a 165 Hz monitor and also on PC, where I trained in HoG with the Toggeable Bindings and Godseeker + mods, and what I did was playing through the P5AB run on my xbox and right before an important fight (Such as The Collector, Markoth, Pure Vessel or Absrad) started, I switched to my PC and practiced that specific boss in HoG until I could achieve at least two or three consecutive succesful attempts at the boss, only then I switched to my xbox and continued with the P5AB run. That way I could go into each important fight having my muscle memory trained for the specific boss I was about to face and it got rid of my nervousness. Some other tips that should increase your consistensy are: 1) In case you arent, I highly recommend switching to a 120Hz or above display. 2) Getting a controller with a "Retro" layout, such as the 8-Bit Do Pro 2 wired controller, it has reduced latency due to it being wired and the D-Pad and buttons layout make playing HK really comfortable.

Man, whenever i attempt this, i die to the collector or markoth (because Markoth is harder than absolute radiance, change my mind). I can honestly pretty consistently beat nkg, pure vessel and radiance hitless, but the collector literally always overwhelms me, but i learned a lot from your fight, maybe ill try again another time and see how it goes :)
