- DougDoug recently crossed all of Tears of the Kingdom in a straight line -- against all odds. He challenged me to find a different line to attempt, a feat he thought was near impossible. So, I decided to not only find another possible line, but a more difficult one -- and STRAIGHTER.

There's a term for travelling in a direct line from one place to another... "As the crow flies." There could only ever be one true master of the line.
When you think about it, a portion of your line that intersects with Dougdoug's line really is just a portion of his line that intersects with yours. So you cannot hate it, for then you hate yourself.

OK but how exactly would they track that they're still on the line? They wouldn't be able to use the map coordinates on a diagonal.

The fact that EVERYTHING had to go right for this line(the 2 arrows exactly, the shield to surf, the pyro chuchus, the food along the way, the perfect pockets of shade, etc) just shows that the holy line is truly blessed.

I'll be honest, when I completed watching DougDoug's video, my first thought on completion was: "Is it really not possible to do it with less margin of error?" Good to see that I wasn't alone in thinking that and somebody picking up that challenge.

If there are other who also tried to outdo the straightness of the original line, I apologize. And of course I wasn’t the only one thinking about it, that was poor phrasing on my part.
FYI: Curtomatic performed a different vertical line to DougDoug, as well as a line in the Depths.

I watched a UA-cam video of people doing this IRL across the Isle of Man where they did it as a race with time penalties for straying from the line - would be fun to see you and DougDoug race against each other with something like that.
Alternatively, blind line challenge: get the straightest line without being able to see your coordinates.

This might just be my fav PC video. The fact that he had the items ready for a summoning circle is hilarious.
The stream of this was probably my favorite stream of Pointcrow's ever. I watched it on a day when I was home sick from work and it was so entertaining. The chat comments were so good, and I found myself cheering when the line giveth and groaning when the line taketh. So so so fun. Down with the Vurch, long live Horsizontal, hamen.

I think for me the most difficult thing in this challenge would be not to turn in the wrong direction.
And not because I want to get around something, but because I'm lost

24:24 I mean believing in the vertical wasn't wrong, the line still succeded, so it couldn't have been a false prophet because it delivered exactly as promised It made it to the other side. It was just a slightly less impressive profit. Also, why can't I believe in both lines because believing in the first one worked, so my faith wasn't in the wrong place.
The Vertical Line declared itself the only one possible, not only is this false, but the Horizontal Line was even straighter. In this sense it *is* a False Prophet

This got recommended, idk why I watched it. But I was invested from the get go and was rooting for the holy line to be crossed! 10/10 would see it crossed again. 👍
Without verticality, a horizontal line has no width, and vice versa, without one, the other is infinitely thin, non-existent. This is why i believe that the Vurch and the Hurch must learn to coexist, bring a new dimension of understanding to both sides, make each intersection between rows and columns not a blasphemous stain, but a symbol of unity, a lattice of acceptance.
The church of the area will not be silenced.
Genuinely an emotionally stirring and narratively inspiring saga, one I will be telling my children and grandchildren for years, nay DECADES to come. May you ever walk on the Holy Line, and may the grace of the Hurch bless you ever more. Hamen!
