Nice demo Ali! Excellent showcase of features that many people are missing when they have done their videos! I love seeing how this performs beyond a simple playing of the piano sound - BORING! But your demo was fascinating!
@Simbor Nabor MODX has 1GB for samples, or maybe it is 2GB, I forgot, and it was easy to tell in the beginning that Yamaha was expecting to ditch the workstation keyboard concept, but outcry has shown them that they shouldn't, and Roland will pound that in harder, LOL! Not smoking anything, MODX has already taken over the market, it is the best selling rompler, followed by the Juno-DS, all for good reasons, and I would go for a Fantom-0 without hesitation if I didn't already have the older, similar FA-06 as well as an MC-707. Gotta also take into account keyboardists' strong Yamaha bias these days when it comes to midrange stuff like MODX, Krome, MOXF, etc. And MODX has had more time to entrench itself in the market. Those Roland acoustic pianos sound great, but MODX is a bit better at that, which will hurt. Still, anything's possible, but I don't see this beast taking over. A good thing I am hearing in the Fantom-0 demos is the lack of the mild dullness inherent in the bigger Fantom's sound, I didn't notice it until I tried out Fantoms locally. Strange, they probably botched the sound output circuitry a bit as the FA-06, MC grooveboxes, and Fantom-0 all lack that dullness that gets on my nerves every time.
@Simbor Nabor I'm getting an MODX to record directly into my DAW, I don't want sampling or sequencing in my keyboards. I just want great acoustic sounds I can load instantly to compose with.
They aren't quite sitting in the same spots. For what it offers (weight, engine, preset, and more) moDX will remain a staple. Because it's primary use isn't as a mainboard. It's why the 88 key is a product I never see as a tech. There is always a better option there. Much like the smaller montages however (for similar reasons) - there is a 'well established' place for the more compact offerings. As said in the comment above. This Roland is far more of a do-all gigging board with the versatility of Zencore at a good price with an attractive bed. People are going to be looking at the cheaper Korg's and seeing this as a far better option (more so if they have other Roland fleet products). It slips nicely into that line up and shares the portable and feature rich quality Modx has; with a quickly accessible gig worthy set of options. Modx is notoriously more awkward on the fly (unless you've pre-programmed) to get the most out of its deep features. If you know the engines; and you should if you bought it! Then you'll know what I mean. It's almost like saying 'Kronos had it all' - so why don't I bring that instead of my dedicated EP and Organ. Modularity. Vs a huge anchor that may not excell 'quite enough' in the areas you need at the time. Don't just see a product in isolation. Specs are important - more so the use.
First time as a Daw / GrooveBox / Synth person I'm interested in a Workstation Keyboard. I had this prejudice that these only had boring sounds, but Zen core makes a huge difference to me
Please tell Roland to add class-compliant drivers for this, please. It would make such a difference to play iPhone/iPad synths with just one cable to the iOS device and out through the mains or even to the subs.
Cool, this looks like the 'so easy a caveman could do it` music production solution l've been waiting for. Looks like it starts shipping in April, can't wait for the user reviews.
Isn't that ALWAYS the way things happen with keyboards & synths !!?! -- Murphy's Law as applied to new musical gear, huh ? I WAS going to buy a Korg Kronos but they just stopped production. So my thinking is that if I brought one now they'll introduce a better replacement, better than the Kronos, OASIS and Nautilus a week after I brought a Kronos. BUT if I wait, nothing new from Korg in the near future. This one from Roland looks really promising so I'm going to put it on my wish list and wait a few months to see if the price drops a little...Yea, Right (ha, ha)
When the regular Fantom was released in 2019, that was pretty much the announcement of Fantom-0 eventually happening. The difference between Fantom-0 and FA-06 is less than what you think. Get to know the FA, there is no rush, and you will better appreciate the difference using Fantom-0.
@@samueladams7 Maybe for the fantom line. I got a Juno DS, and I wouldn't even trade it for a fantom/fantom-0. However, I'm still buying a fantom-0. The Juno is still a beast though. If I got it in 88 keys I probably wouldn't be buying a fantom
FA will remain a live staple. Linear, beam, axial, doesn't hit poly wall easily (which is just flat irritating on ZC architecture unless you have the flagship to offset the weight). Prefer the keybed but that's entirely subjective. SN is simply a better fit and the lack of clutter makes it brilliant on stage. I understand people want lots of features in a single product at a great price - but that will always be fraught with compromise. Compromises you could avoid (at home especially) with a laptop and vastly more powerful software. All which (aside from perhaps needing the computer - and most have one these days ) won't set you back half as much in money. Keep in mind that although Fantom-0 is a well made/price point item, it's still limited by its hardware. Thus I find the real potential of Zen wasted in the unit vs the flagship. It simply harnesses the potential more fully. You will also have to pay for the expansions, which isn't the case on the more expensive model. FA is a dedicated device. And for what it lacks, it makes up for in playability and simplicity. As it was meant to.
can you make a video how the vibes and guitars sound in your next video? I love the Phantom 5 and 7 but I prefer the lighter one of the Phantom 6 which soes everything like the 7 and 8.
The problem with this piano is that it doesn't have V piano sounds and it doesn't have after touch. I was going to buy it but I decided on montage 6 which has better piano sounds than Fantom 0.
Consiguete el Zenology Pro en el sitio de Roland si nomás quieres los sonidos, o busca un FA-06, MC-707, o Integra-7 Para sampler, es mejor conseguirte un Akai MPC One o tal
@@itsAliStone hahaha, I love this Fantom-0 recreation a lot better after looking up the original on your channel (sorry!) How did you do that kick? I can make such easily on my JD-Xi and FA-06, but on my MC-707 (which runs the same Zen-Core engine as this new Fantom-0) I cannot make kicks that sound that good, I have to sample my other gear.
@@itsAliStone My gripe with the Jupiter X/XM are all those beautiful vintage drum tones but the inability to edit them. Can the O Fantom’s drum tones be edited…….

Thanks for having me showcase the Fantom-0!
They should be thanking you. Great performance and you're beautiful to boot! - These are going to sell like crazy no doubt at all.

Best demo so far...great job Ali
Most reviewers create generic workstation music. This demo showcases how a young person would use this. Congratulations!
Others discuss the many features. You demonstrate them. Thanks for showing off some of the more obscure and creative features
I hope she puts out an album of music with that fantom. Crazy good!
This will SELL like CRAZY !! Well Done Roland !
MODX is well-established, can't see this beating it or the lighter and cheaper Juno-DS
still, anything is possible
