One of the best demo/walkthroughs I've seen In a long time. Calm voice , perfect pace going through features not too fast or slow ,
and not overly talkitive. This guy Is the example everyone needs to follow on here.
100% -- the thing I loved most was instead of the regulation "Hey guys, what's up?!?!" he started with just "Hi".
I couldn't have said it better. He seems to run through so many features, but never felt rushed or like he skipped through anything. He answered so many questions I had in just this one demo .
I bought the 08 recently, and haven't even begun to scratch the surface with this thing. The sounds are phenomenal, and the layering is deep and endless.
Roland needs to hire a product naming strategist. It was bad enough when the Fantom 6/7/8 line came out and people thought you were talking about the G6/7/8 or X6/X7/X8, or even the original Fantom. But this product line adds yet another layer of confusion because saying "No, the new Fantom Seven" is now ambiguous. And if that's not bad enough, I just saw someone abbrevitate Fantom-07 in the comments as "FA-07", apparently unaware that there is already a Roland keyboard workstation with that exact name.
Seriously, the naming scheme is quite bad and _will_ absolutely generate confusion.
I said the same thing! Haha
What annoys me more is the "O" reference.....it's a ZERO...NOT an "O"
Literally bought the wrong “Fantom” board because of this 🤣
@@justaname1862 Well, the way things are going, we can expect a Fantom-O7 any day now XD
This is really impressive! The sequencer is really impressive too! This is one of the best explanation/demo's I've seen so far! Well done!
Just ordered me the 61 key due to my passion for sound design! Thank you 🙏 Andy and Roland for this overview!
Andy has such a gentle presentation it hooks you
I met him in Pmt Cardiff and he was a really nice guy
Well done
Great to see you again Andy, and what a great demo. Definitely interested.
Great, GREAT little brother of the Fantom! Cheers for making it accessible for people.
This is definitely going to be my new, first workstation synth! Can't wait to buy this 😍
This is the best presentation of an instrument I've ever seen! Other companies - watch and learn...
I like what they have done with sampling by eliminating manual process. What a great idea.
Amazing. The sky is the limit as far as what this keyboard offers. Amazing.
I’m impressed at how intuitive the controls are laid out and how easy it looks to work with. This makes composition effortless.
Looks like it copys alot from the NEW MPCs.
@@HOLLASOUNDS And?
@@benediktamrhein5639 And nothing.
Absolutely Fantabulous! Although I've thoroughly enjoyed the FA-06, this seems like the perfect remedy in terms of now being able to put together your song sections with ease - a big well done to all those involved!
I was waiting for the Fantom 06! This guy knows how to work with it!
The MainStage add on, makes me buy one immediately!
This is great!! 👌🏾 I’m impressed with the Ableton integration
You really sold me on the Fantom-0 series there. Great demo =)
fantom always looked cool, glad this is affordable-ish. This videos et looks cool, nice seeing other roland gear back there
What an amazing synth and superb demo! Ordering one now!
Nice work mate! A very thorough, interesting, practical and most importantly, musical demo.
Also, it's great to hear a fellow Northerner on Roland :)
I've been searching the web for an affordable synth/workhorse/sound source & I think I've found it in the Fantom O.
ha yes!
I'm guessing he's a North West native. Wirral-ish.
Well done Roland. Excellent choice of cutbacks from the Fantom to get a much more wallet friendly keyboard. I posted the need for this keyboard a while back. I am glad that your choices have been wise and really make the Fantom series probably the best value for money out there. Again, well done Roland. A Fantom I can finally afford without risk of a divorce!
This is literally the perfect bridge between my modular setup and the DAW! I cant wait to get one of these!! :D Throwing out my midi keyboard controller with pleasure
Definitely a beautiful sounding machine, I want the 06
This synth looks freakin' awesome and this demo is mint. may have to pick up a Fantom after this.
I just got my Fantom-06. 🎹🤗
This is what I've been waiting for from Roland. Just taken delivery today and I have to say, I'm really impressed... so much so that my RD2000 and Jupiter-XM are going to be looking for new homes now. Solid piece of kit, great sounding and most importantly, gig-friendly.
are the pianos the same as RD2000? or better or worse...
@@matthewhutchinson7366 no they are not the same. The Fantom does not have the vpiano from the RD2000. Although the Supernatural pianos In the Fantom I prefer over the RD2000. If you want purely a stage piano then RD2000 plays arguably better. But the Fantom has so many other benefits over the RD2000 for my use.
@@foreverelton3633 A lot of those benefits overlap with FA-08, why'd you get an RD-2000 over an FA-08?
@@Jason75913 when I tried the FA08 many years ago, it didn't work for me. It was more workstatiom than piano. So then I went for the RD2000. Keybed action on the Fantom08 is pretty good now too, even compared to RD2000. Can't remember thinking that when I tried the FA08. But it doesn't really matter what I think, everyone needs to try out these boards for themselves to see which suits their needs. The RD2000 is up there for me as a great keybed action and VPiano is great too. However, the Fantom08 being lighter, still great sounding, decent keybed, many more features means the Fantom08 currently works best for me both on the road and in the studio. YMMV
@@foreverelton3633 Just to let you know, Fantom-08 revolves around "Studio Sets" just the same (Roland is calling them "Scenes" instead this time) and being a piano is a small fraction of the machine, also just the same.
This is the best Fa you guys made finally
Beautiful synth
Very cool! 👍 loved working with the fantom.

Great sounds and synthesizer ! 🎹
Great Sounds and Great Playing
Had the fantom 6 and sold it but was just about to buy it again, now I'll save 1500 and buy this.
Nice video Andy. I'd be really interested to see a new synth focused model released, with the core stuff this unit has. Even more hands on control and screen. It's nice that the designers have modelled on-screen which sound design elements can be sculpted when model expansions are enable/installed. This is really useful, as this was clunky with even the Jup-X & XM at present IMHO. If a new synth used this as a base, and focused more on synthesis and sound mangling at a price point under $1,000 it would be an interesting tool. I hope you expand the series of videos to include more sound-sculpting too. I can see it has a motional pad feature too. The expansions are a great way to cover more sounds as well. With a more "traditional" synth features in place of workstation type features, I'd really be excited what Roland could bring out next as a pure synth model next. Hope you expand the series too for this synth.
I have recently talked to a friend about how much I would like a more compact and lightweight FANTOM. Once again, just like with the introduction of the organ, Roland has read my mind. FANTOM-06 order has been placed ;D
those FA keyboards are getting old and they can't stick to the JV/Fantom-X synth engine forever, a midrange keyboard with Zen-Core was inevitable, now we're just missing a Zen-Core-based upgrade to the Juno-DS
I can see that out presenter loves synth pop !! NICE !
Should we expect further integration with Zenbeats as well😁
Happy Anniversary Roland! Feels more like my birthday with this one😁🎶🎹🎶
love this synth
thank you for this video performance

this keyboard roland Fantom ,its the only in market place for all evolution artistique

yeah! i already purchased 08! really nice
FA-06 replacement vastly improved for only a bit more money. Beautiful keyboard, well done. 👏
hope they put in more reliable encoders this time.
hope they also improved the lifetime of the encoders then.
@Simbor Nabor techno is the way to go: ua-cam.com/video/yxAC6ZdZ9OU/v-deo.html
I was about to comment that! My FA-07 is cool and all but this thing is at another level.
@Simbor Nabor As an American I agree. A lot of America demos are done by classic rock fans who seem to have no clue of Roland impact post 1960s 😀
Two things I was hoping for: Velocity Sensitive Pads, and the ability to load in a sample loop and sync it to the tempo of the sequencer. My old Fantom X has these features...
AGREE 100%...Both the newer Fantoms just can't replace my Fantom X7...missing to many functions
So the pads are basically just a trigger?
I really like that Ableton integration....
Thank you Andy
You guys should take the opportunity to create a groovebox version of Fantom, focused for beatmakers. I love classic and new generation Fantom.
I would call it the Fantom Groove and do it as something similar to a verselab, but with all the controls on this Fantom 0 range, it's just an idea, a musician's dreamer. 🤩
💯 Je préfère mon Roland Fantom 7 de l'année 2019.
C'est un vrai tueur. ⚡
Avec lui, je fait la différence totale sur scène. 💥
That part at 14:30 regarding how the keyboard can quickly create a multisample based on a few imported waveforms is heavy. You can't do that on a Kronos; you CAN import multiple waves at once but you still have to manually set upper and lower pitch limits for each sample, name the multisample, and then Convert To Program. This is really impressive. I'm so glad that I decided to order an 07 as I needed a lightweight but capable keyboard with more than 61 keys.
Looks like a home run to me!
My powerful Roland FATHOM-06 has arrived 🤗 This puppy is the real McCoy!
Excellent video, impressive integration with DAWs and especially Mainstage
Roland really is taking an ecosystem approach to music these days. I have been tempted buy some other brands but they are definitely evolving with zen core approach. 😃
I have a Yamaha MODX and I love it. However this new keyboard is supreme and the guy in this video makes it look easy. He is way smarter then I am.
This isn't _that_ different from the FA-06, if you tried that one out before.
Great Demo!
Finally an awesome keyboard in a fabulous price range.
FA-06 wasn't? 😕
@@Jason75913 I have an Fa07 and while it is a good keyboard it doesn’t have all the options this one has at a great price. It doesn’t have faders, it doesn’t have touch screen and more.
@@alancummings5651 But the same can be said for the MODX and Krome, relatively (they each have their varying advantages and disadvantages), the only other really comparable keyboards are at very different price ranges (Kronos, Kross2) versus the FA. For me, the Fantom-0 sharing some of the same bells and whistles as the FA is the plus, along with Zen-Core. I already have an MC-707, though, so I don't care for this new keyboard (unless I can get it relatively cheap). For keyboardists wanting a killer performance instrument and don't already have an FA or Kross2, the Fantom-0 looks like a badass option, and it will no doubt replace the FA anyway.
The FA was an incredibly popular gigging board and we tend to undervalue our luck in a modern world. Millions of people would love to own an FA, even today. So lets not undersell that reality simply because new and shiny comes along that a few of us are lucky enough to be able to own/afford.
Today is March 26, 2022. I was told "late fall or later" on a shipping date, with "unknown" being the true answer. I'm really looking forward to this instrument. In reality, however, I'll probably see it in a store and remember back to when I wanted it and forgot about it and bought other things. I have a Yamaha MODX-8 and I'm not fond of some of the pianos, brass. I have a Jupiter X but I'm not taking that onto outdoor stages with moisture and condensation.
Good walkthrough
Totally getting the Roland Fantom-06! Super excited!
I cannot figure out this whole Z-core stuff :-)
@@EBMZEQUENZER zencore is different synth engines that are compatable with other zen core stuff
@@EBMZEQUENZER - ZenCore merges the PCM synthesis of the XP/JV series with the SuperNatural virtual analog synthesis of the FA/Integra/JP80/Gaia within a single 4 oscillator patch. It adds new osc cross modulation options and has hi-res filters for smooth sweeps.
@@EBMZEQUENZER Not sure either but I like it. 😃
@xp50player Thanks! Not sure why I still prefer the JV sound. Could be sentimental or something with my ears..(?)
Does it also have a Step Rec sequencer?
Very nice to see the fantom o. But would love to know about the upcoming arranger keyboards from Roland.Any news?
A friend of mine have been trying to buy an 06 for a while now, but had to send it back four times now, because it was bent so that the center would touch the desk surface. Some was so bent that the controls and/or display didn't function properly. I wonder if it's a bad batch or is something to expect. I've never seen this on other keyboards.
Nice keyboards, I like them.
Does this have Key/Scale mode in it?
So talented
Fantom 08. Very nice. Style. Very good looking to. Must understand . because very modern. Keyboard
Definitely buying this one, as it seems more user friendly while being extremely dynamic for someone like me with experience in music but not so much with DAWs or workstations. Really good demo, looking forward to this over the Korg Kronos
The best keyboard in the moment
wow good work, SOLD
This is one of those take my money situations!
Can’t wait for @Ed Diaz to jump on this one! 🔥🔥🔥
Это мечта любого пианиста
I gotta say these are tempting and I already own a gorgeous Fantom 8. :)
You know what I really want though Roland, is a synth chassis with dedicated knobs like the System 8 but runs ZenCore engine so I can use it as a controller for soft synths in my DAW which are just SO convenient because they remember all the song-specific settings. I love my Fantom but tbh I find the interface a real challenge. I just want knobs for everything, it doesn't even have to have a synth engine if the margins arent good enough with all the knobs. I love the sound and the endless upgradability of the ZenCore, its really brilliant, but programming is not nearly as fun as my old knobby analog synths. Gimme that and I will buy it instantly!
Oh yeah one more suggestion. Fantom sequencer pattern utility - please remove the timeout on the "DONE!" display. Unnecessary slow down.
Totally agree. I guess you sort of get that with the MC-101 / MC-707?
The “O” (Oh) series is the best value for money synth Roland have in 2022.
The Juno-X, Jupiter X and Xm are way overpriced and don’t have as many features as the Baby Fantoms.
The new Digital Juno and Jupiters should be no more than €1500.
Well done Roland with the Fantom 0 synths. 🎹⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
It seems to have all of the synth power of the Juno and Jupiter X too, just in a different configuration.
While it has many features sounds demoed all were extremely old. From this demo it sounds like instrument for cover bands of 80's music (Madonna, OMD, Italo disco). I'm pretty sure Fantom_O has more under the hood sounds wise, though.
Finally, affordable for hobbyists that don't have $3K+ for Roland Fantom grade features. I can combine with my fully weighted 88 key controller too. A desktop/rack version would be a hit too for those who already have controllers.
They may bust out a Zen-Core version of the Integra-7 at some point. "Integra-9" or "Integra-Z", I'll bet.
Agree! I was seriously on the cusp of purchasing the Fantom 8, but wasn't excited about that price tag. This is much more reasonable for as you said, a Hobbyist synth and keyboard lover. Stoked to see what else this thing features but I have to admit that I am already kind of sold one it ;-P - Cheers!
How much is the 08?
@@ihzu123 looks like it will be 1999 USD
@@C2daF thanks! If true I'll buy it no doubts
this is awesome. does it have a built in looper something like the boss rc-505? also, can you record audio into? i.e. guitar?
Okay...THAT'S IT!!!!! I'm buying one! The heck with my budget! :)
Great! I hope this will knock the price down on the flagship Fantom
of course not, lol
but this is a cheaper version with a lot less features for a more reasonable price and physical weight
I was researching the Jupiter Xm, but the sequencer on this seems so much more user friendly for what i want to do...compose full songs without a PC.
I have to say this was well done. Wonderful board. Fa sho
Excellent product!!! TRANSPOSE function should be designed to be able to be accessed during LIVE setting though. Kurzweil k2700 has dedicated buttons for that. Yamaha had menu that can remain open to access it during live. I think Roland should add this feature as well.
Good point...although all my transpose functions are programmed into my song patchs
Kurzweil k2700 is only in one size.. correct?
Damn I wish I worked for them. What a amazing piece of hardware
The haircut comes with the job. 😁
@Simbor Nabor I would love to make a preamp tube driver for them
Thank you for this great demo! Please, how can I tune the Fantom 0 to 432 Hz instead of 440 Hz?
Hi Andy from Roland. Ypur videos are really helpful. You are very good at explaining things. I’m wondering if you do private lessons as I am looking to buy a fantom 08 and I’d really like to talk to someone like you who really understands the keyboards. I have a project in mind but am finding it very difficult to find all the information I need online. Would appreciate some advice if you could as I would love to be able to get the best out of it. Be happy to do a course if that’s what you recommend. Thanks
This seems like a perfect live keyboard for me :) if only odd time signatures wouldn't demand a weird workaround in the sequencer
I prefer my Fantom G6. Wish I had a Fantom G7.
@@pcuimac what is it about the Fantom G6 that you prefer? :) I saw a used Fantom G8 for sale recently but don't know much about that model
You can use any complex time signature in the FANTOM-0. No workarounds.
@@ablesam cool! I didn't know that, just assumed it was the same as Fantom and heard that one requires a workaround
@@thefrozensea9314 It used to. All fixed now.
Can you make a power/speaker bar/block for the verselab so it becomes a great portable device. Where the lower part is for power and the higher part are the speakers if you can you click in the back or something close to that.
Cool! Are there also the same performance possibilities like in MC707? Scatter etc? And how does it look like with chopping samples? Working and performin with audio loops ?
I would like to know this too! is it a 707 with a keyboard and more? ( no live loop time limit?)
I wouldn't count on it.

Good morning ,i would like to ask about roland fantom zero if it is possible to connect fl studio in the sam way with ableton? Can i see the notes while i write with roland in the fl studio scree? Furthermore, is it possible to delete roland' s default sound to make space to some new sound that i download? I hope for an answer, thank you.
How about ProTools… And how good is the keybed on the 88 version?
I like the style of this dude. Very beautiful. Could you please provide pages where his music is available?
Looks like an improvement on the last model that I struggled with.
FA-06?
This is FA-06 with a touchscreen and slightly more sampling capability (both are still less than basic). Even the manuals are near-identical. FA-06 has the much better sequencer, in my opinion.
But with Zen-core products, Roland eats more of people's money through avoidable micro-transactions, pffhahahaha
It's of course more modern - in line with it's release date. But FA still has plenty to offer and that's more so in the 7/8 series, which even now; many are reluctant to part with.
You now live in an era with many competitive options. Indeed some may have little use for the 0 series along side their other boards. They may not have access to Zencore and want a lightweight board that gives them a broad amount of features, in which case the opposite is true. However personally I don't see the FA as replaced, more of a 'side-grade' with Zencore compatibility. As many note they still share a lot of similarities.
How well would this work through FL Studio? I love everything about it, but I don't know what to expect from it as a MIDI controller. Thanks
Good ways Roland take with this new release of Fantoms model Series. It's a Little Bit Less Flagship than the Fantom-6-7-8 (Less Flagship (Painted) Surface, no After touch keys on the Fantom-07, no Synths Knobs section), limited to 2Gb, but excellent for this price range.
Can my Fantom 6 do everything this one can do?
I want to buy one,how much will it cost me from dollars to PNG currency??please reply asap,..
@@Rightly_Divided The Fantom 6 have many functions of more than the 06. You have access to all ZenCores banks. The 06, is limited to 2Gb and you have to paid an extra for have more patches.

Does this enhanched my verselab in combo setup, like memory, zenology, same app, midi, life playing, wave data files via stick swapable, looping, clock options?
In regards to the model expansions is there a limit to how many can be loaded or active ? Can you load as many as there are parts / polyphony to be had ? Also will N/zyme be compatible and will it get the Zenology Pro expansion treatment as well ?
Seems like all can be downloaded stored and used simultaneously. I don't know how about enzyme compatibility. If you know please give me a reply.
No nzyme
I'm thinking about buying the Fantom-0. But I am wondering about this: I have Roland Cloud Ultimate. Can I add the software synths like the Jupiter/Juno to the Fantom-0, like I can in my DAW? Or does the subscription not cover that, and will I need to buy those separately for use in the Fantom-0 (At 150 bucks each)?
