Some people said Gary couldn’t really sing or play. That his father Jerry and others just made a studio band and nothing more. Obviously they’re wrong. He is and was a good singer and guitarist. Always enjoyed his songs. Thanks for the video.

@@shuroom57 Let's see, "Double tracking" a nasal strident voice that cannot carry a tune ??? No, he was "Overdubbed" by Ron Hicklin. Double tracking merely enriches a voice that is ok to start with. Over dubbing disguises the flaws in someone who cannot sing.

#1. "Mrs. Brown You've Got A Lovely Daughter" by Herman’s Hermits
#2. "Count Me In" by Gary Lewis and the Playboys
#3. "Ticket To Ride" by The Beatles
#4. "Game of Love" by Wayne Fontana and the Mindbenders

#6. "I Know A Place" by Petula Clark
    #7. "Silhouettes" by Herman’s Hermits
#8. "I'm Telling You Now" by Freddie and the Dreamers (Tower)-9 (1)
#9. "The Last Time" by The Rolling Stones
#10. "Cast Your Fate To The Wind" by Sounds Orchestral
But the Yanks recovered the following week when The Beach Boys, Marvin Gaye, the Righteous Brothers, and Sam the Sham & the Pharaohs moved into the Top 10, making it five American, four British, and one Australian act occupying the Top 10 positions...

Check out "Everyone Loves a Clown", looks entirely diferent. He is singing it on his fathers TV Show. He is the ultimate group singer, he never went out on his own, as far as I remember. By the way, he did have a fabulous, not many rock bands, had such an excellent keyboard player. This group probably made as many good hits as any band from that era, except maybe the Beatles.

I suppose they didn't think it sounded good enough. Not sure. There was a lot of overdubs which seems unnecessary to me also. I guess back then you had to sound a certain way. I suppose they didn't know who Bob Dylan was yet. Lol.

Snuff Garrett felt he had a nasally sound while singing.. The ghost singer went on to record all of Gary’s albums with him

They only brought a session singer to sing with Gary on the first album and a little bit of the second, after that there was no ghost vocalist singing with Gary

@@melgillum6611 Yes, Ron Hicklin overdubbed all of Gary Lewis vocals in the 1960's and "The Wrecking Company" did the instrumental music..
