Emma, your such a lovely lady and u have been through so much since your teens, my god being a female really is no joke, seriously. Your hair looks so good and u have a beautiful face and beautiful presence too. Glad this product is helping you.
Nadine Baggott, I think you need to read these comments! I’m not being disrespectful but people are saying they turned off because you keep interrupting! So, stop interrupting please, let your guest talk.
I’ve been losing hair since I was in my teens related to under active thyroid function and PCOS. So my hair loss was bad! Tried mostly everything and then 6 months ago I started myself on oral minoxidil 5mg at night (initially was made for reducing BP, but the main side effect of the medication was that it caused hair growth). Topical minoxidil didn’t do much for me but after I started oral minoxidil all my telogen (resting phase) hairs fell out - which scared me even more but after 2 months my hair is growing back so quickly!!! I’m so happy with the result. Only issue is hair is growing all over my body!! But that’s nothing a little laser hair removal hasn’t been able to fix. My hair was so thin you could see my scalp and now i have so much new hair growth that is thick and minimal hair loss. I’m a general practitioner so was able to see a dermatologist and make the decision together of trying that dose. Most dermatologists say you only need 1mg minoxidil or less to see results. I’m also on the oral contraceptive pill. Note: you can’t take minoxidil when you’re pregnant. Hope this helps someone who was feeling hopeless like I was 6 months ago.
I just saw this video of yours (have followed you for years) and you said have your thyroid and IRON checked. I have(had) tons of fine hair. I'm 75 and my hair has been thinning, however, not alarmingly. In March 2020 I was diagnosed with massive amount of blood clots in my lungs and spend 8 days in hospital on a blood thinner. Sent home with instructions to self isolate as my lungs were compromised (the beginning of Coronavirus 19 here in the US). I've been on a blood thinner now for 6 months. My blood tests have been coming back with hardly any iron and I have had two iron IV's in the last 14 days. LIGHT BULB!!!!!! No iron no hair, sister. Thank you so much, Nadine. I will be discussing this with my doctor on my next visit. You are always my girl for clinical information and the most fun ever. You would be a dinner invitation for my dream table. Hugs, and thank you again. Tela Long
I have Hypothyroidism I can always tell when my Medications need to be adjusted, I leave hairs everywhere! I’m also shifting towards peri menopause so now the real fun starts! Thank you ladies for this.
After having a portion of my thyroid removed, I started experiencing hair thinning around my hairline through the crown. Even though my blood testing revealed no issues with hormone levels, my Endocrinologist prescribed Spironolactone(a testosterone blocker). I take 50mg 2/day. It has helped immensely. I had lots of new growth and much less shedding. I’ve been on it for over 3 years, and still have good results. And in a strange twist have much less body hair to contend with. It’s so nice not to have that emotional battle on a daily basis. Good luck, Emma!
Also check your folate levels!!! Low folate levels can cause significant hair loss. I just wanted to add that eating a healthy diet sometimes doesn’t correlate with deficiency as I have found!! It can also be down to issues with absorption and inability to metabolise.
I've had thinning hair since being pregnant with my third child 35 years ago, but the last few years has been getting much worse , I've been back and fore the doctors who gives me all the sad facial expressions and comments such as oh yes it must be terrible having hair loss etc but not doing anything about it. I've tried a lot of different hair thickening shampoos etc & different vitamins but nothing has worked. I've looked up things such as Nioxin etc ... but I'm on a tight budget and it would be too expensive to use this on a regular basis. I agree with Emma thinning hair is a very emotional thing to deal with , its strips you of confidence and takes up a lot of your time worrying and wondering how your hair looks, when the time should be taken on better things and just enjoying your life. Thank you for this video.
I think the video was a great idea as so many women suffer. However, I feel Emma would be better making her own video about her hair loss so she could have the opportunity to explain her experience, i for one would be very interested. 😊
Dear Emma, I’ve gone through the same thing with the front part of my hair. I have dealt with hair loss on the top and front of my hairline. Until I was 18, I had beautiful long thick hair past my boobs. When I was 13 I also developed body hair and at 16 a hormone change cause facial hair so my mom took me to Electrolysist. Apparently on both side of my Eastern European Jewish genes, I got the hairy genes. My mom’s first cousin in her 30’s started losing her hair and saw the top doctors in NYC. She was diagnosed with Female Pattern Baldness and eventually started weaving hair pieces on top of her head. She noticed my hair was thinning and my mom at first was in denial but I noticed it. So she finally took me to a dermatologist for the first time, never for my pimples, but for my hair. I went to ever hair loss specialist in NYC for 12 years. I didn’t have good donor hair for a transplant. I originally went to an endocrinologist who tested my so for 2 years I was diagnosed with Adrenal Hyper Plasia for my hair loss. I was on a sterioid for 2 years, was a special mix on minoxidil combined with another ingredient from my specialist for maintaining my hair but never got it thicker. I even used Nioxin when it came out on the market in the 90’s, that didn’t work. I went to the best hair specialist in NYC in 1999 who said not to use weaves. He said to wait, because in 10 years they will be regrowing hair on heads and they had been testing on rats. Unfortunately, that was a huge failure. He is now doing robotic transplants. His name is Dr. Bernstein in NYC. I went on the birth control pill hoping that would help. I have tried every topical prescription, otc hair loss products as well as Nioxin and similar products like Nioxin. Nothing really has worked. I was able to camouflage, but not anymore. Ended up buying a clip in hair topper and a wig that costs more than my car. I’ve had to accept there is no cure, but it still sucks having female pattern baldness. If I forgot to say, was tested for everything. Even worse, I break out on my scalp with pimples due to micro-organisms going into the shaft/pore. I’ve been using prescription anti-fungal shampoo for two years and a topical antibiotic foam on the break outs. I’ve suffered with this issue from 18-43 years old. I think it is genetic in my family because the cousin who got it first, her daughters hair started to thin too as well as my older sister’s hair. Thank you for making this informative video Nadine and Emma. Women feel shame about this issue. It’s okay for men to go bald but not women.
Thanks for sharing ladies. I’m 52 this year, no other signs of the menopause yet, but my hair has gone quite thin on top at the front, and I honestly hadn’t even considered going to the doctors about it. Think I will book an appointment for a blood test. Good luck with everything Emma, and btw, you’re blooming gorgeous! x
Dear Emma, thank you for sharing your story! Your story is mine. I first noticed my hair loss in my early 20's, which was confirmed by my dermatologist at the time. It was devastating as my hair had always been the first thing people commented on. It was my crowning glory . Like you, as a little girl, I had the fringe! I would stand in front of the mirror with a hand held mirror and just cry as I looked at my widening part. Saw an endocrinologist for six years before seeing Philip Kingsley in NYC and having him suggest I may have something more going on. Saw another very renowned endo when I was 32 who diagnosed me with PCOS. Have been on Sprinolactone for over 20 years now but my hair never regained the thickness I had when I was young, and there were times that you could see my scalp right through my hair in regular lighting. I would always get stressed on a super windy days, or riding the subway (sitting down with people standing over me...). I tried different products with little success. The laser comb helped thicken the strands but didn't really help my density. I finally tried Rogaine 2%. It took me over 20 years to finally try it because I was afraid I would have the shedding but not the regrowth...The "dread shed" was hard but it turned out to be worth it. For me, it's been amazing. I am now on Rogaine 5% (only have to use it 1x a day) and love it even more. My hair will never be as thick as it was when I was a child, but I am much more confident than I was prior to using it. I just want to wish you all the best in your hair loss journey!
Emma and I have been on the same trip. Although, my loss started when I was 40. I have done every test, tried all sorts of products. I went to my dermatologist to discuss I have started a serious skin regiment and it had really worked but I wanted a professional opinion. I discussed with her that I had noticed a slight change in my hair/balding near where I was smearing my serums, etc. She put me on Finasteride (low dose) and I now smear my under the balding spots. I have been doing this for 2 months. I am praying for a miracle but seems to be working. I found new hair growth. I do understand how valuable the four hairs are LOL. Thanks for addressing this. You are right, hair is not important to the doctors. Ugh.
I don't have this issue myself, but Nadine, I would like to thank you for making such informative videos. We never know when we might experience an issue, so knowing about it beforehand really helps. Plus, we can inform friends who suffer from certain conditions. Again, thank you :)
You know, you really have to wonder why it is that SO MANY people are having thinning hair. Like is it something in our food or air? Just seems odd that there seems to be a massive rise with this problem. And it used to just be older men having crown thinning. Now we see it in both sexes and a lot are in their early twenties too.
Hormonal shifts. When Emma said she got her period late at 11 or 12 (Can't remember) - that's definitely not late. I am in my 30s and got it at 13 and that was avg. at that time. I know girls now getting their period much younger. It's hormones in dairy, birth control (side effects), environment, our food (pesticides) etc etc. Unfortunately not as much women's health research as there should be and lots of research and testing is done on men and men's health. Subtle hormonal shifts can have huge impacts on a woman - bad testing doesn't always show that...
Blake L I was reading this interesting thing the other day that we get our periods when we have a certain level of body fat and the reason why it’s starting earlier for this generation is simply because children are a bit bigger these days.
Definitely - kids are getting fatter due to inactivity, food choices and the hormones in their food. The increase in hormones in foods has created a situation where gr. 4s are getting their periods!!! I went to an endocrinologist (took forever) she basically just told me to take Rogaine vs. getting to the root of my hair loss, period issues etc. Unfortunately, I have had to spend tons of money on really clean food and naturopaths and other alternative health providers bc the medical community hasn't dealt with hormonal health properly. Btw - I work in the medical/healthcare community so please no one @ on being anti-science. There is not enough research on certain things and you really need to nag your provider for testing and the more specific testing. You have to be an advocate. Also, I think when it gets really bad, to just pay for testing and find out what's happening and forgo spending money on other things - I know this is a resource issue though.
The best way to have your hair (when it's fine) is short with no layering. I know, as I have very fine hair and it looks thicker shoulder length or shorter.
Thank you so much for sharing Emma, there’s so many topics women avoid talking about and sharing your experiences is a huge help to others going through a similar experience. Great topic Nadine, love your channel!
I noticed my hair was thinning around the front a few months ago, I’m 47 so assumed it was because the dreaded menopause is around the corner. A friend recommended Nioxin and it has completely changed the quality and condition of my hair. Fantastic stuff! Also noticed it helped to remove remains of patchy spray tan in the shower. Love your videos Nadine, been a life saver (ok skin saver!) since I discovered you recently x
Jo Chamberlain i am thinking of trying the nioxin system. How oftern do tou wash your hair with it? The third product the foam you must use iit every day?
Titina73 I wash my hair every day, I sometimes miss out the 3rd step and my hair still feels thicker. I buy the big bottles of shampoo & conditioner from txmaxx but I’d recommend buying the smaller trial system to start with
MINOXIDIL all the way really does work for me, plus Nadine testosterone itself is not bad for your hair, only his very potent DHT form dihydrotestosterone, if high level of DHT accumulates in your follicles or you have genetic sensitivity to it, it will cause hair loss due to miniaturisation of hair hair due to restricting blood supply and ultimately nutrition to your hair.
Do you mind me asking if you noticed any negative side effects to minoxidil. A lot of people say that they lost a lot of hair initially. I have a fear of starting it, even though I know that ultimately it might be the only thing to help.
Lindsey Kate Dolbear initial hair shedding after starting minoxidil is a sign of it working however I have not experienced it nor have I encountered any other side effect listed.
I have used nioxin but what has worked the best for my hair growth is apple cider vinegar. After I wash my hair, I pour some onto my scalp and let it sit while I shave and wash. I then rinse it out and towel dry. Like you said, it is like a toner (I have also used it on my face) and strips excess product and neutralizes the PH balance among other things. It is so much cheaper than nioxin. I use it every time I wash my hair. I always get compliments on how shiny my hair is. My balding is hereditary. You wouldn't know it anymore. Also, STAY AWAY FROM SUGAR. Even with the vinegar, if you consume too much sugar, it will fall out. As soon as it starts falling out more than usual, I get more on keto diet.
Interesting about the sugar.... is that really true? I have been starting to lose since in 30’s. I consider myself addict d to sugar - I have to have sweets every night. ... so hard to quit.
@@Awalkingmuse - me too. Totally addicted to sugar and my hair thinning. You're not alone - I'm going to try and reduce my sugar intake - Just want you to know you're not alone. 😊
Karin Froch Thank you! It is reassuring to know I’m not alone- not that I wish it on anyone!! Going to cut down on sugar and exercise more. I’m curious about my iron.... going to get checked. I have good days and bad. It is crazy how hair can affect you so much! ( a lot of it is images we are used to seeing as ideal of beauty, so much emphasis on beautiful flowing hair etc...) Thanks a lot ! Xo
@@Awalkingmuse - ahhh you're welcome. Yes you're right, we are bombarded with images of "perfect women". I'm going to try the same as you. Like you say, you wouldn't wish it on anyone, but it's good to know we're not alone. Best wishes. 💖
Finasteride and Spironolactone have been used and certainly helps with hair loss. Minoxidil is the gold standard drug now. It does work. You can also take Viviscal Professional. It helps tremendously in slowing down hair loss and making what you have, stronger. The other thing that really makes a difference and thickens each strand is Dermmatch. It comes in all shades and goes on wet with foam pad. I use it along the part and the difference is astounding. It thickens it up so I have no thinned out areas or bald spots. It does not come off in the rain or on your pillow. You have to wash it off with shampoo. I have use it for years and no one knows that you can see straight through to my scalp without it.
Im convinced our water plays a part. We moved a year ago and I started to get sensitised skin and rashes on my neck. I also had extremely dry, itchy skin. My hair became brittle and was falling out a lot. The water was stripping my skin and I think my hair too. I recently put a filter on my shower and my skin is SO much better. I started Nioxin 3 step regime and bought a silk pillow. I don’t find hair in the bed anymore and although I do lose quite a bit when I wash it, my hair isn’t falling out as much the rest of the time.
My hair has been thinning for over years. It’s devastating and you feel like everyone notices it. As someone who has dark hair and a very pale scalp it is more noticeable. Like Emma my hair is the thinnest at the crown, at the sides and at my parting. My doctor wasn’t particularly helpful. I went to see a brilliant trichologist and I’ve been on minoxidil even since and it has made a difference. I had all my hormone, ferritin and thyroid levels checked and they allwere within the normal range. I tried all the shampoos, treatments etc. I also tried nioxin once but the scalp treatment brought me out in hives almost immediately. My trichologist recommend what supplements to take, how often to wash my hair, which type of hair brush to use and it’s all made a big difference. I won’t ever have a lions mane of hair but it is getting better gradually.
Titina73 my trichologist prescribed minoxidil. I use that once a day, she also prescribed a Philip Kingsley scalp mask that I use once a week, use a hairbrush like a wet brush that won’t rip your hair out, I wash my hair every other day at a minimum. Hope that helps!
So love you two. Can't wait for the facial hair video! I have thinning hair as well. Nioxin now in my shopping cart. Emma, you are beautiful with any hair! I have noticed the last couple of months it does look thicker! Thanks so much for doing this!!!
Watermans 'grow me' shampoo, conditioner and serum..it's made the world of difference to my menopausal, thinning hair. It's now in fantastic condition, it feels thicker and is growing really well.
Hi, I have had the same journey as Emma, I had pcos and I've tried all sorts. It knocked my confidence so much that I stopped going out for a long time. I tried nioxin and found that my hair became so dry it snapped. I'm now using some vitamins and label m rejuvenate shampoo and conditioner and I feel that the condition is getting better. I also dermaroll my scalp before applying the lotion and I can see a little bit of regrowth. I'm 57 and I've had this since I was about 14. My gp laughed and said "really Debra!" That was all I ever got! Thanks for doing this video, I really appreciate it xx
PRP helped regrow loss from alopecia, but hairline is still thinning. Going to seek dermatology appointment and steroid treatment. Used minoxidil for about 2 years. Didn’t notice much difference. However, been using The Ordinary hair serum for almost 3 months and noticed huge difference in hairline. Loads of new hairs, baby hairs, less shedding. Noticed new hairs within weeks of daily use.
Thank you Emma and Nadine , very interesting and informative , I now take biotin and have found that my hair is so much thicker ! I have an under active thyroid and was starting getting thinner so I’m happy 😃.
At one time hairdressers offered scalp massage treatments, using Wella Kolestral and a heat cap as a way to combat thinning. I was lucky to find someone who did this. It stopped the thinning at my crown. Unfortunately, 30 years later there is nobody out there who does this.
Gorgeous Emma you are brave!! and thank you. like you this has been my struggle since my teens and have never met anyone who has shared this publically. Though i dont have PCOS, my body and hair follicles are more sensitised to testosterone. I am one of the rare individuals who loves being on the combined pill. I love the oestrogen! I would highly recommend teenagers who have similar problems to not shy away from the pill if they have these problems ( btw i am also an obstetrician and gynaecologist). It was a game changer for both my acne and hair. I wished my asian parents allowed me this option in my teens. i waited till my twenties when i was in uni. When I came off the pill to start my family combined with a health phase of doing 5:2 diet, the hair loss came back again and my husband started noticing. it was difficult living through those emotions of insecurity again as a teenager especially when you thought you had left it behind and managed to get someone to find you attractive. I went to see philip kingsley clinic. I love their approach being and i had blood tests done( low and behold my iron stores were so low despite a normal range of red blood cells). though the consultantion was expensive the blood test only cost 60 pounds. so maybe people could explore private phelbotomists. As i was trying for a pregnancy, I did not do the antitestosterone minoxidil topical solutions. They had so many variants. But they educated me on hair growth diet more protein based and if you have low iron stores, it is important to not go beyond 3 to 4 hours without a small protein based snack which was why 5:2 diet was horrible for me and interestingly how anything you eat after 4pm does very little for hair growth. I then fell pregnant and all was good again cos of the oestrogen boost my body got. then my hair fell out in clumps like running down my back i then discovered NIOXIN. it was great. except i found that it made the rest of my hair dry. any suggestions on how to counteract this? you can also use it in pregnancy which is good to.maintain your scalp condition for after. just had my second baby and having similar problems again. and being a mum of two it is near impossible to have a shower in peace much less do the 3 step system religiously. my hair.journey has been a painful and difficult journey along with my skin. it did however stregthened me in other areas aka i became a super nerd in school and am where i am now. but i wished someone who had been through this had spoken to me as a teen. so shout out emma! you are so brave and nadine i love love your posts. as a doctor i absolutely love your scientific approach to things. been back watching all you videos on you tube whilst breastfeeding my 4 month old in the middle of the night!!!
Nisha Hutchinson What a lovely and inspiring comment. Congrats on your beautiful babies. Lucky with your medical training you can access (interpret) the latest research papers. Good luck!
I'm an Australian doctor and I specialise in treating PCOS, irregular periods, PMS, hair loss, facial hair etc as well as menopause. It's sad that most doctors don't know how to treat PCOS except by prescribing the combined oral contraceptive pill. Everyone with PCOS has insulin resistance (almost). They are low in progesterone and high in testosterone and oestrogen. High levels of insulin drive the ovarian testosterone production which causes acne, facial hair, body hair and thinning scalp hair. EVERYONE with PCOS should be taking metformin and reducing their refined carbohydrate intake. The best scalp lotion which I prescribe for everyone with thinning hair is a topical solution of minoxidil, finasteride and tretinoin - this stuff works miracles. I'm happy to send you the research papers re this treatment. You should check Jeanhailes.org.au which is an Australian Government website (so no WHOOOOO here.)
Minoxidil has no effect on testosterone. It's thought to work by increasing the blood supply to the scalp, increasing the size of miniaturised hair follicles and getting follicles that have stopped producing hairs to start producing again. Finasteride (combined with minoxidil in a lotion) is the drug that prevents the formation of dihydrotestostone (which makes your hair fall out).
Brilliant video Nadine, it's so nice to hear from someone else who suffers from hair loss and I've picked up some tips from the comments on here too. I'll share my story: I've always had an abundance of fine hair, in fact I'm sure I've said in the past that I have too much hair. 2 years ago I was on holiday and the bright lights in the bathroom drew my attention to what looked thinning hair on my scalp. I freaked but tried to convince myself that it was just the lighting playing tricks on me. However when I got home I checked again and it was clear that my hair was thinning. I mentioned it to a friend and she had a rummage for any obvious bald patches and said my scalp was horrifically dry, even though I was using PK Itchy Flaky Scalp. So 1st stop new shampoo, I switched to Kerestase Specifique and I've recently started using Vichy Dercos Energising which is also kind to my scalp. I tried Viviscal last year, I think it worked a bit but I'm rubbish at remembering to take supplements and these aren't cheap so I didn't buy again. Someone also recommended taking vitamin D which had worked for the so I started taking that too. I read that Lysine is a DHT blocker so took that for a while but the pills are huge and I struggled to swallow them. I went to see a GP earlier this year and she was really sweet and said they'd do blood tests and check "everything" so I booked in for the blood test a few weeks later and booked a follow up appointment with a GP. I was disappointed to discover that they hadn't checked much. They checked my thyroid and that came back normal, ferritin (iron stores) was deemed normal at 64 ug/L however I know from research it needs to be at least 70, preferably 100 for regrowth. They also ran a full blood count but nothing else, no vitamin D/B, no zinc, no other hormones. The GP said only thyroid was necessary. She then proceeded to Google female hair loss and read everything I'd already read myself! So I've started taking iron but I need to introduce them gradually as they're upsetting my stomach. I also started using Grow Gorgeous intensive serum, not sure if it's coincidence but the hair loss has since doubled! I realised that when my vitamin D ran out I didn't replace it so I'm back on that again too. So I've tried a million and one things, probably not given anything long enough to work but like everyone else I'm looking for the wonder treatment that produces an instant result. In the meantime I'll continue to take regular photos and compare against previous months (I use an app called Layout for producing side by side pictures), I will continue to think that everyone I meet is looking at my receding hairline 😔
Great video. Very informative. Thank you both. I'm 42 and have had two instances of hair loss due to stress/shock; the first was after a serious car crash four years ago and the second was this year after being in intensive care with flu and pneumonia. Both times, my hair would shed a lot when brushed and washed, to the extent where I've lost about 2/3 of my hair each time. After the crash I didn't do anything and it slowly regrew but this time I've used Philip Kingsley's vitamin and protein supplements internally and thickening shampoo, conditioner, drops and spray topically as it really upset me and knocked my confidence. The hair loss now is practically zero and I'm waiting to see regrowth which I hope will be next. The topical products definitely make it look fuller. Emma, I think your hair looks great and hope the regime continues to work. I may try it should my hair not grow back. Thank you xx
I had chronic tellogen effluvium for past 2years and thought I was going to get bald - I tried everything from minoxidil to hair growth serums and nothing worked But! The one thing that brought everything back was PRP after my first session they stopped falling and by my sixth session I had my full set of hair back and it’s been a year now since my last session -everything seems to be normal .
Yusra a 2 years ago, when you thought you were going bald, was it seeable? Did your friends and family notice your hair loss? When you went to work did you wore a cap or what kind of hairstyle?
Yusra a since its 2 years you got your PRP done i wanted to know how is your growth now? The tricho suggested PRP for my daughter..she has FPHL, but i am wary after reading some negative things about prp. Please do let me know soon. Time is crucial here.
And to answer your final questions, I have tried SO many things, including Nioxin which did nothing for me. However; I discovered a less expensive brand that promises similar results called Nutri Ox and am having some success there. I use the shampoo, conditioner and serum of the brand but am convinced that the serum is the secret sauce that helps. Like Emma, with thinning, fine hair, I hesitate to use much conditioner on my scalp, but I do use a little. I was from a brunette in my youth with incredibly thick gorgeous hair and it all went south after menopause. But I've used supplements too and think they have helped. I use biotin and saw palmetto and drink gelatin in the form of home made bone broth (started for gut issues but noticed it helped my hair too). The final thing I've been doing is something I tried from a couple of youtubers which is to derma roll my scalp before putting my serum on; I only do this once a week but use the serum every day or almost anyway. I have ordered the new hair serum from The Ordinary and am looking forward to giving that a go because I'm in Canada and can no longer get the Nutri Ox serum here, though we can get the shampoo and conditioner. I will say it has taken patience but eventually my blitzkrieg approach is having some small (it's all relative!) results and my crown is no longer so bare and I have some new regrowth in places where hair had stopped altogether. Oh, one more little tip for people, because it's really easy and inexpensive, is to try adding some tea tree oil and some rosemary essential oils to your shampoo and leave it to sit for a couple of minutes. Stimulates the scalp. Oh, and one more, niacin, with the flush, has been proven to help stimulate hair follicles. Thanks Emma and Nadine!
Nadine I appreciate you mentioning low thyroid and low ferritin levels can cause massive hair shedding. I have had massive hair shedding the last couple of years. I finally had a doctor order a ferritin test which was on the very low side of normal at 14. The office person told me "it's okay". I said "really?" because I read that levels should be above 90 for people with thyroid disease". That person just said "well it's within the normal range". I cancelled any further appointments with that doctor and I called my GP and I am now on iron supplementation and increased thyroid meds. You really have to be your own advocate when it comes to your own healthcare. Thanks for highlighting these very real issues.
I've had thinning hair since I was 13 years old. I also have PCOS, but I've been going to a gynaecologist in Mexico where she put me under medication that is helping me out. Thanks to the medication I have been able to lose weight faster andI've noticed some baby hair coming out. I've been taking birth control pills to help me get my menstrual cycle every month and I think it's helping a lot.
I've had thinking hair for à hor 20 years. Two years ago, I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and started on Synthroid. It has helped. I was surprised to hear low iron levels can contribute as well. I have chronic iron deficient anemia and have a hard time tolerating oral iron supplements. I take several different supplements and use topicals. I will now begin searching for an iron supplement I can take.
Oh my gosh my hair is absolutely exactly like Emma's. That could have been a picture of the top of my head. I recently went to a naturopath and she did some testing. My thyroid was good but my testosterone was high. I am 63 and I stopped coloring my hair and stopped using a blow dryer. I don't know I guess you start with the blow dryer about the same time your hair would start thinning because of the hormones anyway but I had been using a blow dryer for so many years I just thought I would see what happened if I stop cooking my hair follicles. I only use the Remington CB65A458 Keratin Protect Heated Volume Hair Brush. It's basically a very large curling iron with bristles that don't get stuck in your hair. I love it. I can't get it here in the States so I order from the UK. Not sure how it works on very long hair. I have shoulder length hair. I have started getting a lot of new growth. I'm very excited about it. Emma is young so she may not want to go the natural color route (although here it's getting very popular) but it's really made a difference for me. I'm going to try the products that Emma suggested too. Best wishes!!
Damaris Rodriguez Research Ayurvedic or DHT blocking hair oils and herbs for weekly oil massages. I make my own. Combination of natural and medical products externally and of course internal nutrients all helps. I find anyway. I have been attacking it from all sides. I’ve seen results.
vickytime yes! It has excellent reviews , i just bought it and used it yesterday, it felt wonderful, like, invigorating, I’m going to continue its use..l fingers crossed...
I started taking a grass-fed collagen peptide powder into my coffee, along with a bit of butter - after 7 weeks, I noticed my eyelashes (that were coming out in patches, yikes!), had tons of baby lashes coming in. Then my hairdresser, who before taking this, had suggested I get extension for the top - wth? Anyway, THAT started oming in big time too. I have taken thyroid for ten years, and had upped it 6 months prior, so it wasnt it - it has to be that peptide stuff (amazon has different brands, do your research for the best for YOU)... and my nails too. Thick and they don't bend, split or peel anymore..... Im thrilled! (Im 64 in that photo btw - and am 2 yrs older now!) Thanks ladies!
I have an underactive thyroid and B12 deficiency and ever since I was diagnosed a good 15 yrs now my hair gotten thinner and thinner, I've tried all hair products except for nioxin which I only recently heard about and will definitely try, thank you
I have to take methotrexate injections for arthritis. It’s a chemotherapy drug which has hair loss side effects. I take prescription folic acid to help counter act the hair loss and I take magnesium and biotin supplements as well and it’s really helping. I love percy and reed products especially their hair balm and volumising mousse. I use a tangle teeze brush when it’s wet so I don’t damage it.
I have the same problem... methotrexate. I also take a lot of folic acid and biotin (5,000 mcg/day) Also so have genetic alopecia. Have not seen Percy and Reed in the US.
Anyone that has mild or moderate thinning that wants a quick fix while looking for a permanent solution, if you've got dark hair and a light scalp or vice versa try dying your hair to match the color of your scalp. Use semi or demi permanent if you're worried about causing unnecessary damage. Even making the contrast between the two a bit lessened makes a huge difference in the look of scalp coverage. It really helped me feel more confident while I was trying both Rogaine and Nioxin. Nioxin worked quite well compared to nothing but I still keep my hair lighter to create that illusion.
Thanks Nadine! I was sooo waiting for this! I've been having terrible thinning issues with my hair for the last 2 to 3 years. I'm 42 and can't really cope. I think I have 1/3 of the hairs I used to have. The good thing is that it's curly hair. I'm on the Hair Molecule by Deciem's Fountain and have noticed a tiny change, second bottle so let's hope. I've been using the L'Oréal Elvive Fibrology shamp/condt. for the last 3 months but it works only on appearance which is not bad for some self-confidence boost. After your info I shall get my blood checked as I didn't think it could be as a consequence of thyroid imbalance or low levels of iron.
Did see three different trichologists since I did start shedding my hair in my 30s (hormones+ genetic) . They all said the same thing. Nothing works apart from massive doses of iron - supplements- and minoxidil. Which, both, will have to be used for..ever!
She reminds me of me. Look wise. Before I got my short hair cut. I never had nice full hair. Runs in the family. After 4 years of short hair I am regrowing mine and as soon as my budget allows I will start with the Briogio Scalp treatment. Nioxin would be a second option to consider so thank you, Nadine.
The lack of knowledge in my profession regarding treating PCOS is very sad. My daughter is currently in GP training and thankfully (in Australia) at least things are changing. I specialise in hormones and probably half my patients have PCOS. PCOS can be treated and SHOULD be treated. Its an indictment of my profession that doctors don't check your hormones, your insulin, your iron levels, your cholesterol etc. Why should you have to pay for these blood tests? You don't have to pay for screening tests in Australia and neither should you.
Hi Nadine and Emma - I really appreciate this video and thought I’d throw in my two cents. Where female pattern baldness is concerned, Minoxidil really helps. I don’t know why it it isn’t recommended more strongly. Maybe the suggested regime puts a lot of people off - you can’t go out after putting Minoxidil on in the morning, unless you’re happy to go around with wet hair. Minoxidil only needs to be applied once a day, so evening is best - in fact my derm says that every second day is enough. You mentioned the pill (it helps with hormonal acne so it also helps with hormonal hair loss) but people could try avoiding dairy too, for the same reason, it’s a trigger for hormonal acne so it might not be good for hormonal hair loss either.
I have very fine thin hair (runs in the family) to the point I have to check all bald spots are covered if I wear a ponytail. I use Philip Kingsley shampoo & conditioner which has helped. I also use babyliss big hair for styling which is great, unfortunately after one nights sleep its flat on my head again. It’s so frustrating and upsetting when your kids point out your bald spots, I feel guilty for doing the same to my mum when I was young.
Funny to me when folks from the U.K. complain about paying for a dermatologist or blood test from a specialist, etc. I get that the health care there is not perfect and has funding issues, but here in the states I pay out of pocket for everything. Getting my hormone levels checked costs over $300 with insurance. My deductible is over $2,000 annually and a co-pay is $75 before I can even see a doctor live. All that and I pay $400 a month in premiums. You all need to fight to keep that healthcare. Look at the US as a cautionary tale. People literally die here for lack of financial resources.
Heather Dean That is expensive. Not sure if you are aware but we do pay taxes to cover the NHS, it isn't free. As time goes by they simply cut what they cover. They appear to only be doing the essentials. It is great not to have to worry about costs if you need to see a doctor. My Thyroid medication is covered which I appreciate is fantastic. You can imagine what is like when you need treatment and blood tests ie for t3 and it isn't covered. I will certainly seek private medical but I will have paid twice. Hope this explains it a little better.
Heather Dean i haven't experienced any problems with our NHS. Our test and medications are free as well as anything else you need. We do pay taxes out of our wages towards our healthcare. Some people like to pay private for treatment that isn't available on the NHS but that is up to them.
It drives me mad when Americans don't understand all other industrialized countries have public health care systems - that we pay into. In some cases can be half of a jurisdiction's budget. So when we are paying into the system - and get refused by a physician to not grant a hormonal panel (because they have been told to not over-test due to cost) it can get frustrating to get the appropriate tests and see what's happening (if it's not covered or a physician does not think it's needed - you have to pay out of pocket). Even more, ranges regulated can be quite broad (like TSH - why thyroid is not caught properly) - so it is better to take those results to a naturopath or someone else to further investigate (who will also do additional tests). As an American, you are not taxed as much - but pay a premium (or not covered). I have a lot of other thoughts on the American system - but we have less money to work with (taxes for social security) and sometimes can't get what we want sometimes within our system. That being said - we are super grateful for not having to worry about a surgery, accident, major chronic disease we have to deal with - as we know we will be covered (even with pre-existing conditions - which looks like it's on the chopping block again in the US). Women's health is a struggle. Some thyroid tests (not TSH but other more specific ones that give a better picture, or other tests that may be deemed medically unnecessary will not be covered - these are rarer - but unfortunately fall into some hormonal stuff. I have only found certain lab work I have to fight for - with gynos and endocrinologists. I do think though, Emma should just go to a new doctor, exacerbate her symptoms (it seems the only way to get some checks on the requisition forms and get a new work up. Take it to a naturopath or functional medicine woman and figure out other options. Or pay for some to see what's happening. A naturopath/functional medicine doctor who can offer supplement options, prescribe bio-idential hormone creams, and prescribe natural thyroid - if it's an issue. Unfortunately endocrinologists are not well versed in thyroid, adrenals and female hormonal imbalances as they should be - even subtle shifts can wreck havoc!
I totally agree people in the uk do moan about paying for things health related the nhs is amazing but not a bottomless pit and taxes we pay are minimal to what we expect back to be fair !!
andrea hutton I agree, I live in Switzerland now and it’s a lot like US, we pay hundreds per month then the first 1500 of any appointments/bills. I didn’t appreciate the NHS when I lived in the UK. Yes people pay taxes in the U.K. but let’s face it, it’s minimal.
I suffer from thinning hair just like Emma does. And the GP hasn’t confirmed but i believe i have PCOS. I have irregular periods which i believe is because of weight gain, and the thinning hair issue is very annoying. Im definately going to give Nioxin and yhe wet brush a try. Thanks Nadine and Emma !
Metformin itself causes the reduction of hair growth...therefore hair will start thinning out...and it also Interferes with your body’s ability to absorb certain B vitamins and coq10.
Thanks for this video ladies. I have alopecia areata which I believe is mostly stress related. I take hair burst vitamins which have helped me grow a lot of new hair all over my scalp (not specifically the bald patches) and I’m also using the Watermans shampoo. Hair loss is very emotional and unfortunately the NHS are unable to do much to help. I paid to see a dermatologist privately who prescribed me steroid lotion to try. Alopecia areata is an autoimmune condition so treated slightly differently. Thank you so much for doing this video, I’m a big fan of both you ladies and it’s lovely to see Emma on UA-cam xxx
I appreciate the information, and I was wondering if you can use Rogaine at the same time? I just started the Rogaine a month ago, and do se some hair growth. I just started using Hydrolyzed Gelatin Beef Collagen, and Trace Minerals. I will be ordering DHT soon. I’ll let you know how it all works. And Toppik is a decent hair filler, and I purchased that at Sally’s beauty supply.
It's crazy how this country's nhs supposed to be so forward but yet for the blood test you mentioned we pay pennies in my country Poland this is where I get my test done. I loose hair but my thyroid is on point and also my iron that's when it gets annoying. The effect of minoxil stopped once you use it. The new hair will fall out. I get mezotherapy done on my scalp. Once a month for 6 months and then maintenance every so often. I also believe looking at what is happening inside of your body first and then helping it externally x good luck
My hair loss is at the top section also. Mine happened 6 months after I stopped taking HRT pills!!! Many ladies have benefitted greatly by taking an oral BIOTIN Tabley daily.
I'm 26 and this year I noticed thinning in my crown. In certain light I can easily see my scalp and especially along the side I part on. My mother has thin hair and thyroid problems, my sister just told me she has thinning hair and thyroid problems after I told her I was thinning, and my maternal grandmother has thinned out hair. I think inevitably there are genetics at play but also my diet hasn't been the best recently, maybe that and always wearing hair styles that pull on my crown, that kicked off my hair shed. I didn't even notice shedding more because my hair is quite long (along my ribs) and I've always shed a lot in the shower etc. I'm thinking I'm going to try minoxidil and I'm also considering cutting my hair very very very short, like a crew cut so I can take better care of my scalp. I really enjoyed this video!
I had the same problem with hormone and stress hair loss. I did an experiment. I tried Keranique hair loss treatment as well as john masters organic scalp and follical treatment. One on one side of my head the other with the other. After the bottles were empty the results were exactly the same so I have continued with the organic product. I have great results tons of new hairs growing in around my face it is fixing my hairline. Love it!
Just curious as to whether anyone's tried PRP - Platelet Rich Plasma. When that's mixed with minoxdil and laser it's meant to have wonderful results. I've had PCOS and still have auto immune issues. The biggest things that have helped was switching to natural shampoos, conditioners, styling products and hair dye. My scalp is not clogged as my hair is free of sulphates, silicones and chemicals. I also have an anti-inflammatory diet, due acupuncture and take collagen and MSM. I agree your iron levels and thyroid must be checked regularly by an expert. I'm currently experimenting with CBD oil for my auto immune issues and it's helping.
I used Nioxin for years and Rogaine. I had very dry hair with nioxin. I recently started using Kevin Murphy products and my hair looks and feels better and I see regrowth. I think it is just it’s natural nature? I don’t know. It’s still not as thick as I’d like but seems healthier than with Nioxin
I have a under active thyroid since 2005 and only in the last few years I have noticed my hair is falling out and my crown is very thin. All products mentioned sound expensive. I have stopped straightening my hair as much to hardly ever now and drying my hair I don’t use the hairdryer. I also don’t colour my hair as much as I used too only once a year. All this does seem to have helped me but I guess the damage had been done.
My hair started dropping out when i was 17, which really hit my confidence hard at the time. I can only imagine how hard it must be for a woman, as hair just seems so bound up with notions of youth, beauty and femininity in society.
Omg! Thank you for this....I was diagnosed with PCOS from a similar age and have the same problem now. Definitely will try this. I could cry knowing there are others out there suffering with this and products that work! Xx
Thanks for this one. It’s worth mentioning that if you get your bloods checked to also have vit D levels checked. My hair was falling out in clumps and my gp discovered I had a deficiency. Within a few days of taking a supplement my hair stopped falling out. Unfortunately it’s taken it’s time to recover and I don’t feel like I have my old head of hair back yet.
Thank you both for doing this - I can completely relate to Emma - I bought the Nioxin when I saw Emma recommend it before (havn't tried it yet) but I do use Furterer products which seem to be helping - not a cheap route because, as Emma says, once you start you dont want to have to stop. Like alot of these products the results only last while you are using the products.
Super video girls. Emma thank u for coming unto Baggors video and sharing. U will definitely see huge difference with Nioxin. Having just turned 60 I'm going to go on a few courses of Nioxi to boost growth. Feel so awful for beautiful women that have to go through significant hair loss. I'm not talking about chemo treatments but more of the aging. Have to bring our testosterone levels down so they say. Thank u girls. U r indeed fabulous xx
Oral saw palmetto brought on major hot flashes for me! So be aware ladies. I’m near menopause and apparently while blocking DHT it also blocked what estrogen I’m producing. Haven’t looked into topical saw palmetto for the scalp but I’d be leary! Just an FYI. Preventing hair loss is a very complex journey and that is sad. Is it really like finding a cure for cancer?! Seems like it should be easier to come up with a cure.
Great video beautiful ladies. I have recently been losing alot ofvmy hair from the root. I have been hospitalized for 3 months. Doctor thinks its my new medication. But I'm devastated 🤧 Been growing my hair for years. I also can't get it coloured atm. Because I'm too scared it will make the hair loss worse. I'm only 47 but already got grey roots. Can anyone recommend any products. I could use to dye my hair. Ive thought about vegetable dyes. Do they work r they safe to use. While I'm losing my hair. I'm being referred to see a dermatologist. But with covid pandemic. It could take months to get seen. Any help will be gratefully appreciated thank you 🙏🙏🙏
Hydrogen peroxide. I pour a little in my hands and rub it in to my roots. It works for my fine thin pale brown hair as I get older it doesn't cover the very grayest hair but at least takes the edge off. Kind of looks like highlights, I just rub it into the top roots and bang area, then wash off after a few hours. 0nce a week I use an apple cider vinegar rinse to help get the shine back, as others have said, due to using products my hair gets dull.
Nadine, again very interesting topic,🙌🏻I struggle with my hair too, not to the point Emma is or was but first visit to dermatologist and straight away got sent to check TSH and testosteron. It cost about 15£ to have it checked privately in Poland where I live.. So much less then the shampoo I use yet so important. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us💕
Great video, Nadine! I can do relate to hair thinning and the emotions involved. I’ve pretty much tried everything to help my thinning. Unfortunately, I’m allergic to ALL minoxidil products so that treatment option is out, but I’ve started on Spironolactone, which blocks DHT in the hair follicles and I’ve been using a Hair specific supplement called Nutrafol. I live in San Francisco and it’s easy to find here in the States, but I’m sure you can find it in the UK too. I’m also starting PRP (platelet rich plasma) injections. PRP has been shown to be a promising treatment, but of course, it’s all at a huge monetary commitment. Crossing fingers I see some improvement. I’m going out to get Nioxin now:)
Did PRP help you? Did the Nutrafol? Please let us know. I tried Spiro and it didn't help. I'm now on Finasteride 2.5mg for about 6mo, hoping to see some results.
I don't know if this is related but my hair was falling out, every time I ran my fingers through it a good 20 hairs would fall out. They were everywhere. I've started taking b12 after a blood test showed i was at the lower end of UK recommended level. I have to say my hair loss is so much less now. B12 or cyclic? 🤷🏻♀️
This is very traumatic. I’m loosing hair due to low thyroid and adrenal dysfunction. Just started the meds a few days ago for that and nioxion as well. Loved this video!
For women it's so awful losing your hair but what is worse is if you suffer from any form of alopecia!!! I've lost my brows and all my front hairline and it's the type that will never grow back! I too always had extremely thick hair esp in the fringe department and it's absolutely heartbreaking but to be totally honest I think cancer suffers are obviously suffering more than you and me!! xo
I have always had very fine hair and very thin hair (thanks, Mum). Nothing I've tried so far has worked (oral supplements). I tried Minoxidil for about three days but it meant having to wash my hair every day and I felt that was making the problem worse, in addition to having to use a ton of product and blow drying it every time it was washed. I really thought the whole deal was counterproductive. I live in Australia so, if Nioxin is even available here, it's going to cost a bomb. But i'm going to give it a go. What do I have to lose?
You should try Loma products in addition to your nioxin routine. Loma is awesome and my hair is like yours. They are a natural hair line but awesome in the hair including the styling aids. I use Nioxin system 5 every other day with Lomas conditioner for extra conditioning. Works great.
I hear you ! I also have pcos ! I am losing hair by the handfulls ..but its super bad now !! I'm 41 ..i have always have baby fine thin hair ..so any hair loss is devastating to me !! Ughh i don't know wtf to do ! I feel hopeless !! I have to shave my face like daily !! The only thing my doc. Wants to put me on is metformin .but i've heard sooo many bad reviews !! Wondering if biotin capsules would help ?!also my thyroid and iron are fine
Thanks for the video xx I suffer from hair loss and thinning. I started using Nioxin system 4 which did work but I felt my hair was slightly dry with it. My hairdresser introduced me to watermans grow shampoo and conditioner and I find it much better than the nioxin. I still use the nioxin dermabrasion treatment every 3 months or so which I find brilliant xx
Yep my period started at 15 and that's when I started to get a widows peak! That's when I decided to get haircuts with bangs (fringe) to hide it. And I won't even get into the patches of chin hair and mustache. I pluck about a hundred hairs almost every night! I've always just been embarrassed by it and covered it up but now maybe I should see a doctor to see if there is some medical help I can get! THANK YOU!
Thank you! I'll give Nioxin a try. It does make sense. I've been using an Alterna scalp treatment and found that it has been helping. I do have hypothyroidism and recently my MD changed my prescription, and I'm sure that has helped.
Emma, you need to pester your GP for a referral to an endocrinologist! Nadine is absolutely right - you must have a thyroid test! Many women with PCOS also have an underactive thyroid. I had thinning hair, weight gain, fatigue etc for years and my GP just told me to go and lose weight. Then I moved to Germany and a routine blood test showed I had a severely underactive thyroid. Now I take thyroxine every day and after a few weeks my symptoms improved dramatically. My hair isn’t perfect but it’s much better than it used to be and although it’s fine there are no bald patches. All the very best to you- I’m a big fan! xxx
I've had thinning hair that won't grow past my shoulders. Very thin round the hairline and sides , but thick on the crown and at the back. I'm using Hair Fix shampoo and conditioner the leave in gel treatment. Also Deciem stemm hair density treatment . Both give volume and don't weigh the hair down. Had all my bloods done and they came back normal. But I am perimenopausal and have to take regular medication "Amitriptyline" for arthritis of the neck. I'm thinking this is the reason my hair is so thin. May try Nioxin. Thankyou ladies for highlighting a subject that really affects our confidence.xc
Titina73 well I use it every time I wash my hair but where I want thickness and density, and use the hairfix in the thinning areas around my hairline etc.
Great. Next, talk about brunettes (like Emma) who are going gray, but don't want to use permanent haircolor. What sort of demi color shades word to lightly tint the grays so that it blurs?
A natural version of covering greys is called Hairprint. It actually restores your existing colour. Google My Hair Print. I can't use artificial dyes and have one of those hair colours not easily duplicated in a bottle. I've found reasonable success with this Hair Print..
Anonom2012, there’s always henna. It’s natural dye and no side effects. It comes in dark brown or red. Or you could see about naturally getting melanin back into your hair. My mom (62 years old) has agreed to my experiment to see if her pale grey hair will regrow as the brunette she once was. We will start the experiment next week and conclude in 3-4 months time. We will see if the claims that onion juice, ginger juice, and garlic will not only thicken hair and regrow a receding line but also counteract the oxidants that interfere with melanin production, causing grey hair. She used to colour it with henna, but the upkeep with the roots was too high maintenance for her. She won’t touch chemical dyes due to sensitivities.
Emma, your such a lovely lady and u have been through so much since your teens, my god being a female really is no joke, seriously. Your hair looks so good and u have a beautiful face and beautiful presence too. Glad this product is helping you.
P Mc Intyre she has no idea how beautiful she is x
Tela Long
Nadie, you are always taking about very important topics that we all care about! Thanks ! 😘
omg i really wanted to hear what she had to say but nadine wouldnt stop talking!!
Let the woman answer the questions and speak - we want to hear her story!
You said it
Yes!
Totally
You invite an expert, well let her speak !
Kate Rimmer the woman did not let her speak!😡interrupting all the time😡
She does not let her guest speak. So frustrating!
Lil’Bingz Minder, you're so right... I remember growing up and not seeing women complain about thining hair ( I'm 60 years old )....
I think it is because we have so many chemicals in everything these days and we use hair colours all the time.
I buy the big bottles of shampoo & conditioner from txmaxx but I’d recommend buying the smaller trial system to start with
Jo Chamberlain Thank you !!
Jo do you use the same system - #4? Thank you for sharing!
MINOXIDIL all the way really does work for me, plus Nadine testosterone itself is not bad for your hair, only his very potent DHT form dihydrotestosterone, if high level of DHT accumulates in your follicles or you have genetic sensitivity to it, it will cause hair loss due to miniaturisation of hair hair due to restricting blood supply and ultimately nutrition to your hair.
lenka simekova Thank you, That’s good to know!
Thank you for your super fast response. That is reassuring to hear.
Lindsey Kate Dolbear good luck x
Arcy Young wow! I will try the acv....cheap and many benefits! Very interesting observation about the sugar!!
( a lot of it is images we are used to seeing as ideal of beauty, so much emphasis on beautiful flowing hair etc...)
Thanks a lot !
Catriona Hamilton can you please write what are you using to help you 😝
Titina73 my trichologist prescribed minoxidil. I use that once a day, she also prescribed a Philip Kingsley scalp mask that I use once a week, use a hairbrush like a wet brush that won’t rip your hair out, I wash my hair every other day at a minimum. Hope that helps!
Catriona Hamilton Thank you !!!
What is that Wella product?
@@romasplace1 it was called kolestral . it came in a tube and was a white paste.
Nisha Hutchinson wonderful post!
Nisha Hutchinson What a lovely and inspiring comment. Congrats on your beautiful babies. Lucky with your medical training you can access (interpret) the latest research papers. Good luck!
I really loved this post. It made me feel hopeful and not alone.
I'll share my story:
I've always had an abundance of fine hair, in fact I'm sure I've said in the past that I have too much hair.
I had chronic tellogen effluvium for past 2years and thought I was going to get bald - I tried everything from minoxidil to hair growth serums and nothing worked
But! The one thing that brought everything back was PRP after my first session they stopped falling and by my sixth session I had my full set of hair back and it’s been a year now since my last session -everything seems to be normal .
Yusra a
2 years ago, when you thought you were going bald, was it seeable? Did your friends and family notice your hair loss? When you went to work did you wore a cap or what kind of hairstyle?
Yusra a since its 2 years you got your PRP done i wanted to know how is your growth now? The tricho suggested PRP for my daughter..she has FPHL, but i am wary after reading some negative things about prp. Please do let me know soon. Time is crucial here.
What is PRP? TY for your words 💕
Nadine you need to let your guest speak without interrupting. Please.
yes my gosh I was thinking the same thing. I appreciate her videos but she interrupts so much.
I know she doesn’t even give her chance to reply to the question. It makes it harder to follow
😂😂😂😂😂
I believe I have age-related hair loss and it is a battle. I appreciate this video, so much. Thank you!!!!
Damaris Rodriguez Research Ayurvedic or DHT blocking hair oils and herbs for weekly oil massages. I make my own. Combination of natural and medical products externally and of course internal nutrients all helps. I find anyway. I have been attacking it from all sides. I’ve seen results.

Could you test out the new peptide serum from The Ordinary that's for hair density and let us know if it's good?? xx
vickytime yes! It has excellent reviews , i just bought it and used it yesterday, it felt wonderful, like, invigorating, I’m going to continue its use..l fingers crossed...
@@turena8745 hey... it's a year later now. did it work?!
Donna A hey I’d be interested to know which brand you were using of them peptide powder thanns 😊
Donna A you are lovely, I’m 50 and hope to look like you whenIm 64 .
I gave up methotrexate when I lost 50% of my hair. Rheumatolgist said that was enough, and I'm on other RA drugs

I curse my thick hair when I was a teen and now at 37 I’m loosing sleep over thinning hair😫
I’m 27 sigh
Cristina Risso same here. Those 2 are really the only 2 things that have made a small difference for me :(
She reminds me of me. Look wise. Before I got my short hair cut. I never had nice full hair. Runs in the family. After 4 years of short hair I am regrowing mine and as soon as my budget allows I will start with the Briogio Scalp treatment. Nioxin would be a second option to consider so thank you, Nadine.
Wonderful video! I thought I was the only person who colored in my scalp with eye shadows 😏. My loss began in my mid-thirties.
Can it be treated? How can I contact you?
Love your videos Nadine. Thoughtful, knowledgeable content. Not just selling. Thanks
To instantly cover use fibre hair powders... they work amazing!!! 💞
Regaine/Rogaine (for the last 2 years) improved my hairline from female pattern thinning. Took 6 months for a noticeable difference 💋
Lipstick Konniption did you get any side effects?
ursaminor - no side effects at all (just hair) 🙃
This subject hits hard.God help me!🤷🏾♀️
Isn't brushing wet hair bad? As in wet hair is more prone to breakage?
Laura Some Number yea
What is CBD oil?
Thank you for this info. How much spironolactone do you take. Did it affect your blood pressure? Did you notice any side effects?
Thank you so much for this information! Going through this and looking for answers. I know how it feels.
Can’t wait to see the next video!
Estelle Packer how often do you use the Deciem product?
Titina73 well I use it every time I wash my hair but where I want thickness and density, and use the hairfix in the thinning areas around my hairline etc.
Estelle Packer Thank you
Pi for breakfast research black sesame seeds. My Chinese acupuncturist has me taking 1 Tbs a day.
