The air cleaner kit you put on came stock on my 17 CVO Ultra, and I love it! I did find a wider filter that allows even more airflow by just changing the filter element.

Just an FYI: When I did the 114-to-117 Stage-4 build on my '20 SGS, I upgraded from the SE Ventilator Air Cleaner (stock on my bike) to the SE Extreme Ventilator Air Cleaner, along with the SE High-Flow Exhaust System (cats in mufflers, as opposed to 1 cat in the headpipe), and added the second SE Tuner with 18mm wideband O2 sensors. Bike runs excellent. I also ventilate the crankcase with a Trask M8 Checkvent (metal trans. topside cover, replaces the OE plastic non ventilated POS).

I surely thought the stock CVO air cleaner had the “ram effect” of forcing air the front but that’s not the case. I’m surprised that the front of the stock CVO air cleaner is cover by metal, that’s crazy. The new air cleaner looks awesome and it appears to match the push rod covers. Great install and I’m sure better air flow👍🏾💯✌🏾👍🏾

I have a ‘22 low rider S, do I need to get the OE breather screws? Or can I use the stock ones like you showed?

Looking to get that new air cleaner as well! But do i need to get bike retuned?
If you have a heavy breather already you won’t need to however, if you have a regular air cleaner it does need a retune. Hope that helps.
A year later, how would you compare the performance of these two air cleaners?

Since my 21 RGS came with an oval air filter . , I’m assuming I shouldn’t have an issue with the breather screws ?
I wouldn’t think you would but check with dealer just in case

I need the breather bolts. Did you get a part #? I think it may be HD-29465-O8B. Not sure though. I am doing the exact same thing but on a 2022 Low Rider S.

I'm thinking the biggest difference besides aesthetics, may be the ability to not suck in rain water. Did you ever have issues with water in the gooseneck-style intake?
Good point. Never really had an issue but never really rode in a downpour

The heavy breather isn't for me. At 6'4" tall I bang my knee on it. So I always go with what you're installing. Btw, love the red rocker on the motor! Great job! Eric

Regarding leg clearance, does either one keep you from fully hugging the tank with your leg or allowing your leg to move around?
The prior one did prevent the hugging but not the flatter one.

Just did the same thing to my 22 Road Glide ST. At 50 miles, couldn't stand the Heavy Breather. At 6'3" it was killing my shin. Did you notice any difference . I know that a recalibration isn't necessary cause they're both high flow. The bike is a joy to ride now.

Only issue with the ventilator on Touring models is it always looks crooked because the M8 is rotated forward
