I just picked up a 15 Wide Glide with a filter that sticks out a lot just like the one you were talking about, and I have the exact same problem with hitting my shin. I think this is what I'm gonna go with to fix that issue.
Thats the air cleaner i want on my 17 street glide , i have the fuel pack 3 , good job looking forward to you riding on it.

That SE heavy breather I hear will still rub your leg right on the edge and it can be uncomfortable but everyone's stance is different
I run a 883 iron air cleaner on my 2019 streetglide special cause “sleeper” and a velocity stack on my dad’s 06 springer cause power

I had the same rubbing issue on my fatbob w. The stock exhaust. Best upgrade to as screaming eagle breather but I have the cone as they dont make the angled filter for 2015

can you put the 2019 117 CVO Roadglide trim on this filter assembly? I want mine to say 117
I'd like to see how your leg goes around it because I have a Fat Bob 114 and it has a similar leg position. My right knee hits the stock oval air cleaner and I'm afraid that this one would pretty much make my right leg feel awkward as hell with how far my leg would be kiltered outwards just to reach the front peg/brake.

Wish it has the shroud over it like the CVO's do....even though you dont have a 117...it would be cool if you could add it...
You can buy it with that, I think it's the same price even, but I went for the more minimal version.
If you want a good cam get a redshift cam from Zippers Performance and a D&D exhaust from them or an S&S gear drive cam and pipe plus Zippers Performance has an excellent fuel management system to ditch the Harley speed governor system.
Cam and more in depth mods won't take place on this bike for awhile. That's what I keep telling myself anyways, lol
BLOCKHEAD personally I would go with Zippers Performance and they can set you up with an S&S gear drive setup with the Zippers redshift cam . They’ve been building Harley hi performance stuff for decades.
So when you decide to step up performance that’s the way to go . 120hp and torque in the neighborhood if not more. Plus they have an excellent tuning system. There stuff is designed and proven to work together. I’m sure there must be a shop in Florida that uses their stuff.
I wish Harley’s screamin Eagle CAI like the one you have were a little longer tube to almost push the filter past the rocker box. I’m personally dealing with replacing my Screaming Eagle Bell Filter because of oil from a rocker box gasket blowing out. Sucked oil straight into the carb! I was touring when it happened, sucks.. I would have made it if my filter was more forward like the one you put on your other bike (Wife’s?).
hey block, what attracted you to the Roland Sands to begin with? Reputation company wise or just pure looks? And was the factory breather High Flow?

How does the screamin eagle heavy breather air intake work when you use the Vance and Hines FP3 tuner instead of the screamin eagle pro street tuner?
Any big difference on the heavy breather elite vs just the heavy breather?
I ride in the rain to.much to be able to safely use one of those style breathers which sucks cause they look awesome
I live in FL, it rains all the time (it's raining as I type this.) Just use the rain sock, keeps the water off of it.

Are these filters with the cone shape reusable after a simple clean and re oil or the filter has to be replaced? I dont have the manual for the filter. .
Do you have to buy an aftermarket tuner to install that air cleaner
Really wonder if that solved your problem. Looks like the new one is getting even more in the way of your leg than the previous one. I'm getting delivery of mine in a couple of weeks with the SE round extreme flow. That one looks a bit smaller than the one you had, but more intrusive than the original, which looks like it's designed to avoid that problem. Keep us posted man! Great videos.
It solved my problem, not near as in the way as the last one, doesn't dig into my leg like the Roland Sands one did.

When I got my fxdr the dealer was trying to get me to get the one they already put a heavy breather on buttttt I HAD to have black the red is cool and all but not my style
Bro I have the same air intake. I noticed the top left breather bolt is spewing oil from the back. Is that normal? It’s odd to me that there is oil finding its way out of that specific bolt.
I had to get my brake pedal bent on my 48 Sportster because air filter forced my leg out and couldn't reach the brake properly.

BLOCKHEAD I have a 2018 Street Bob with a bung king crash bar. I have the problem with the stock filter digging my leg when I move to the bar. I have a Heavy Breather on the way. Did the Heavy breather give you the clearance you were looking for?

I need an external breather, I have a lot of carbon build up but, I don't want to drill holes. I have a Stage 1 K&N filter and assembly already but, DK says I still have to drill holes? Please help.
Looks like it sets out just as far. Mine has Screamin Eagle breather leg still hits it
Sets out as far but it doesn't set out as far, as far back, which was the issue with the RSD.
Can someone help me, I have a XG500 and am wanting to get the Extreme Heavy breather filter instead of the K&N filter, does anybody know if the heavy breather will fit my Street500?

BLOCKHEAD!!! I noticed you left on the mounting bracket for the original intake and mounted the new one to it. Does it say to keep that on in the instructions? I did this with my extreme round SE intake and got a check engine and high idle had to remove it and re-flash ECU.
The bracket that goes over the top of the throttle body? Didn't seem to get in the way. Didn't say to keep it in instructions but also didn't say to remove it. I'll have to double check when back in the garage.
Yeah I installed mine and that top bracket created a gap between the housing and throttle body so I took it off and it fit flush
What is the zip tie for?
Can the rain sock stay on to cover the meh filter paper color dry or wet without compromising the airflow?
The color of the filter will turn to gray after a few cycles, and after being out in the sun a bit. But yes, you can use the rain sock over it without impeding airflow or performance at all.
What air cleaner would Mrs Block get if she didn’t get yours? Just curious.

Hi, I am from India. I lost the rain sock. Is there a part number to order?
Did you remove the bracket off the top of the throttle body? if not, you are not going to get a good seal and the bike will run like crap. That's what's the zip tie with the retaining progs is for - holding the wiring that is clipped to the bracket that needs to be removed.
Are you talking about the arm that goes over the top of it? It doesn't seem to get in the way. I'll have to take a second look at it and make sure all is sealed up but seems to be fine thus far.
at 2:14 - the support bracket holding the throttle body and sandwiches at the breather bolts. There should be a step in the instructions that states " Remove and discard induction module support bracket. Secure throttle control wire to throttle body with supplied cable strap (A)." That's the bracket it's talking about. The new intake supports the throttle body and that bracket should be removed to ensure a good seal on the throttle body.

Looks so much better, Blockhead :-D I installed the K&N forward filter for my FXDX this summer. And had to oil it up. Why didn´t you do that to the SE filter? Disclaimer: I´m a fresh rider from the summer of 2018 :-P
Filter comes pre-oiled, that's why it's red'ish in color.

So you can just add it to your bike without dyno testing or fuel packing your bike?
As noted in video, whenever changing the intake or exhaust, a fuel management system should be done. That is an incoming video.

The breather bolts had openings into channels that go back into the throttle body I believe. It's been awhile since I made this video, I'd have to double check

I can not believe that designed that stock air cleaner the way they did. My right leg was now being pushed out is a super awkward position.
You never took off intake bracket, which can make it not aligned and act up.
I test rode this a few weeks back.
the air cleaner gets in the way on my right leg, kinda annoying

I've done that before. Not comfortable, especially when it's hot and there's little to no air movement. Also, it picks up breathing sounds way more, lol

if I remember correctly in a previous video he said he was planning on using the FP3
@@matthewmorris7729 I know he used one before, on the dyna I believe? And I believe he was having some mapping issues, but I never heard if they were corrected, or if the unit was as great and user friendly as V&H wants everyone to believe.

When I look up this part, the image is a little different then what you installed. Even your thumbnail is different than what you installed. The one in the thumbnail has a weird casing that says “screaming eagle”. Thought?

You're talking about attaching a fuel mapping system, something like an FP3 or Dyno Jet tuner. Yes, it is recommended. That video incoming.
BLOCKHEAD exactly, when you fitted the RDS did you feel that you immediately needed the, fp3 or could you just install and run off the stock map? Now that it’s on Mrs Blockheads bike is she just running in the rds with the stock map?
