Thanks for the top down view of both filters. Was trying to decide on both of those filters for my Fat Bob, but will be going with the low profile ventilator after seeing the clearance issues. Red Beards Unite!

I love these arm chair quarterbacks who has all the right moves and answer's , Man you will never learn anything unless you make mistakes and grow from it , some times it cost us in many ways to move forward and achieve our ultimate goals so don't sweat the small stuff and never put your self down in learning , I would have gone with the Screening Eagle Heavy breather and put a sock on so bugs don't get suck in . Looks good bud .

I agree the screaming eagle heavy breather looks great but I've heard on the Facebook street bob group that the positioning of it is no good with forward controls.
I'm 6ft 1 and I had it on my Street Bob and had no issues . Consult with Harley Davidson for the real facts and forget FBookers , not all are true .

I have a 2019 softail breakout over in Fremantle WA, and follow your channel with interest. I like the mods you choose, and am definitely copying a couple such as the fork wrap. My bike came with that ventilator air cleaner as standard, and until I watched your video I thought it looked like a pie tin and hated it. Now it’s kind of grown on me more. I was going to replace it with an Arlen Ness Big Sucker, but I’d have the same issue you did. I think I’ll buy the different front plate and filter element and adapt my standard Ventilator into the SE Ventilator Extreme. Also, a really good bang for buck mod to go with your cam is the SE high flow intake manifold. It makes a definite noticeable difference in performance. Keep up the great vids, I’m almost inspired to make a few of the mods I’ve done to my ride...

thanks for the install and review. i was actually considering that one you removed but didn't realize it was still in the way of your leg. i do agree its prob slightly less airflow than the one you took off but comfort trumps that small performance loss. i'm def going with this one!
I ended up turning this air cleaner into an extreme flow ventilator air cleaner with a different filter. I did a vid on it. Of course you can save the hassle and just buy the extreme flow ventilator air cleaner instead of modding this one.

I want to add ventilator to my 2017 road glide but I am adding cams. And all the videos with cammed m8s have the bigg ugly bulky awkward cleaners like the one u took off.

Been looking at a 2017 Dyna... just looks a bit meaner, the tank is better in my opinion.. took the 2019 soft tail for a spin and the power response is better for sure, feels more nimble. It will probably mean I’m gonna be spending 17k on a pretty clean stock 2017 and 12ish on customisation and performance. Gotta bro blacked out stage two and I’m down with the club style. Parting with so much cash will hurt a bit, taking the jump to flick the sporty and commit to the new bike is harder than I thought! Great vids bruz, keep up the good work!

I just bought a 2022 Street Bob I like the look of the stock air cleaner what’s the difference with the screaming eagle ventilator?
The screaming eagle ventilator air cleaner allows for more air volume which in turn adds performance when doing a stage 1 or stage 2 performance upgrade.
Nice vid. Any blow by issues from the breather system?
I havnt experienced any blow by, however I run my oil on the dipstick a little lower than the full line as recommended by lots of m8 owners who have suffered blow by.

I would think the tune you had from harley would be the same tune for the ventilator?
The standard ventilator air cleaner does not breath as well as the screaming eagle extreme flow so it may be running a little rich.Its always best to have your bike tuned for the specific air cleaner you have installed.
It's a sweet looking air cleaner, but far more restrictive than the round Extreme Breather. This will require retuning your fuel to air mixture.
I've since upgraded this air cleaner to the extreme glow ventilator by using the different style air filter with the open face
What are your thoughts on the ventilator vs the heavy breather? Just didn’t like the look? I was also thinking about maintenance. Probably bad if you get caught in the rain.
I prefer the look and positioning of the ventilator air cleaner however the extreme flow air cleaner let the bike breath better. I still have to get around to having my bike tuned to suit the ventilator air cleaner though

@@patricio5717 I haven't had the bike on a dyno so I won't know if there is any difference in numbers. However the bike is a little more responsive and wnt run lean 👍
Did you ever do the catch can fix on the ventilator air cleaner? That video was great.
Yes I did a video on attaching a catch can, just check out my channel and you should be able to find it. I would recommend a pod filter over the catch can though. Catch can rusted badly inside the thread on the lid after only 1000kms

Crap... I made the same mistake you did. I haven’t installed my aftermarket one yet. I do have forward controls also... I’m going to have to think about this one.
The other air cleaner wasn't so bad but my leg did rest on it. Depending on your height you might get away with your leg not touching it. I'm 5 foot 9
Do you need to upgrade the exhaust as well. I went to Harley today and they said I had to upgrade my exhaust?
You don't have to change your exhaust but you would need to tune the bike to suit this air cleaner.

The stock street bob air cleaner doesn't look the same as this. Difference is it breaths better.
@@TheGingybeardMan oh got ya, my fat bob air cleaner looks just like that except it just says 114. I’m going to go for the extreme air cleaner, looks pretty cool and has an open face to let more air in
@@MarvFitBikesKicks yep now I follow, yes it looks like the air cleaners which come stock on the 114 cubic inch engines. The stock 107 street bob air cleaner is different to this one Ive done an updated vid of this air cleaner on my channel turning it into a high flow filter.

You're not wrong at all, it's pays to shop around and not race into buying parts. I messed up and should have bought this air cleaner first.
