I remember when I was young and in grade school, we'd have weekly "show and tell". My turn eventually comes and I decide to bring my Buzz Lightyear figure to class. I got in trouble because of the "laser weapon" that was on it's arm.

We used to play with toy guns at school. And in highschool (we had one school for grades 7-1) every single truck in the parking lot had loaded guns, especially during hunting season. In fact I know one guy who had his held for him in the office because he didn't want to leave it in his car.
I had an experience with uncommon sense once. I was playing in the junk yard of my dad's auto shop. I had a very distinct toy revolver in my hand and I was wearing woodland camo, mind you I was only 7 at the time and was around 3.5 ft tall. Some lady calls the police on me and before you know it, I had 6 police cars with roughly 7-10 officers pointing guns at me, one in particular with a shotgun. 1st off, toy gun, 2nd of all I'm a kid who's 3-4 ft tall, and 3rd, private property.
What has this world come to where that's the norm

A few months ago, I was at a Walmart at the gun counter just browsing. Then there's two ladies that approach the counter and ask to see one of the 12 gauges. The man behind the counter hands it to her, and the first thing she says to her friend is, "take a picture of me with it!" in my head is said to myself no big deal. Her friend points her camera phone at her ready to take a picture, then her friend aims the shotgun right at her. She's practically taking a picture of the inside of the barrel. I thought this couldn't get anymore unsafe, but I was wrong. She was looking at the gun and had it positioned in a way where the trigger guard was facing her, and the gun was horizontal, not knowing the barrel was pointing at the man behind the gun counter. Her friend told her that she was pointing the gun at him, then she said to her friend, "Shut up! I'll shoot YOU!" *points gun at her* you just don't do that. It's people like those two that give us pro gun people a bad name.
I've decided that the next time someone does that to me, I'm yanking the weapon out of their unsuspecting hands and smacking them in the face with the side of the buttstock.
If only you'd had the legal right to stand your ground and shoot her dead, right in her fat stomach! Actually in all seriousness, I think it should be a criminal infraction to sweep someone's body with an unloaded gun, equivalent to a traffic citation. I bet some local jurisdictions would go for that, maybe in Idaho or such.
I would have corrected her. If I was the clerk, I'd have taken the gun. If you, I'd have said "You're being extremely unsafe with that weapon. Please stop."

Was at a range when i was about 14, with my dad, he was teaching me how to shoot basic .22, working with a henry golden boy lever action, having a good old time.. This kid two stalls down was also working with his father, however it was his first time shooting, and instead of using something small like a .22, the kid was shooting a 12 gauge shotgun. The dad tries to tell the kid how to fire it, and the kid make an off hand remark about knowing what to do, hes done it in video games before. The kid holds it at his waist, and fires. The shotgun goes flying out of his hands, back, into his fathers crotch. I had to put my gun down, and put a hand over my mouth to keep from laughing at this scene.
thank you for bringing a smile to my face haha..my first gun to shoot was a 12 guage, but i shouldered it, and i was like 6 or 7, and had my grandpa there helping me so it wasent all bad, i loved it! my first gun was an sks, it was given to me at an early age but i never really shot it cause i really couldent handle it, now its one of my favorite guns haha!
Its so annoying when people play video games and because of this, think they're experts in firearms.

I play lots of video games, grew up with guns and my dad was in the army and taught me to handle fire arms. Second, I would like to clarify. The person I am talking about is the kind of person who spends hours on Call of Duty or Battlefield and because of this, thinks they know how to handle fire arms. Although these games are accurate in terms of reloading and actions, they don't teach you what it is actually like to fire a fire arm, this is not necessarily a bad thing, its good to know the theory first. Another issue is these games don't teach muzzle discipline and how to treat fire arms (I am referring to Call of Duty, etc. ). I don't doubt that you can learn a lot from games and sims.
Also the dad's fault. I would've taken the gun from the kid until he stfu and listened to instruction. I don't think the dad had any balls to begin with, so it probably didn't hurt too badly.
Made me smile! I learnt to shoot as a cadet at 13 with 22. Then straight up to No.4Lee Enfield in 303! That hurt!!
Then UK version of the FN FAL SLR In 7.62! Didn't hurt quite so much!
The 303 weighed more than I did soaking wet!! But they taught me to respect them all and use them safely!
I joined up and used the SLR in service alongside the Sterling SMG 9mm! Hated that SMG! Was always in trouble for trying to grab an SLR as my truck gun! My oldest son & daughter also learnt to shoot as cadets! (Had Daddy as an instructor! Lol!)
Up until 10 teach them "Don't touch, Tell" Then teach them an appropriate caliber to handle them safely!
Was at a range like 2 years back and when the range master said cease fire everyone did except one guy who fired a shot. And the range master like he had a fucking warp drive instantly appeared near that guy and told to to empty his weapon, put it on safe, than he packed it up and told the guy to get the fuck out.
They took the rules very very serious at that range but it was nice, knowing it was run by people who weren't idiots nor would allow idiots to be at the range.

When I was 17 (35 years ago) I went to El Paso TX to report to Ft Bliss. I noticed a gun and knife shop IN THE AIRPORT, and stopped in. I couldn't buy a handgun at that age, but they cheerfully sold me a replica .44 Old Army revolver and everything I needed to shoot it. That weekend, I took it out to the desert, loaded it up, cocked it, and decided it would be cool to twirl it on my finger. BAM! The weight of the pistol made it fire and the bullet sailed about 2 inches past my head while the unburnt powder set my hair on fire. Once you nearly shoot yourself in the skull while setting your head on fire, you quickly learn a little about firearms safety.
Obviously, you could buy a handgun at 17, in Texas. Otherwise, why did they sell you one?

So the door chime or whatever that they use in the shop is similar to the chime my alarm makes when a door is opened in my house. I was playing the video decently loud and when the chime rang I thought someone was coming through my front door. It was 11pm and I was home alone, so I jumped out of my seat and grabbed my gun, heh.
After searching the house and coming back here to realize what actually happened I feel dumb...
I work in military simulation and watch you guys regularly. Today as I was watching this video, one of my co-workers who makes AR's came by to chat and said "Oh Iraqveteran8888, I love these guys!" Just goes to show you how many people enjoy your channel. Keep up the great works guys!
Back in the mid 80's (when some common sense still existed) I brought my Dad's 1891 Argentine Mauser to my high school's history class, at the TEACHER'S REQUEST, to show the class what a WWI era German rifle looks like. Mom drove me to school and I left the rifle in the teacher's room until class, then Mom picked me up at the end of the day. During the class, the teacher held up the rifle and gave some details (yes, the bolt was in the receiver and the rifle was fully functional), then students got to go up and handle it for themselves. The teacher was so into it because his grandfather fought in WWI, for the Germans!
Try that scenario on for size these days. Let's see....SWAT team, local and national news, prison time for my parents, expulsion and juvenile court for me, teacher fired and forced into homelessness, other parents sue school district into oblivion...
P.S. I brought a few rounds of ball ammo to pass around class the next day, to complete the lesson.
You can do that in most schools as long as you tell the teachers and do it in the manner you said
I remember in elementary school (I think), my dad dropped me and another friend off at a different friend's house. We had been upstairs in his room playing with some Legos when his dad went outside. Me and my friend who I came with where both raised around guns and knew exactly how to behave around them. So he saw his dad had left and asked us "hey do you want to go look at my dad's pistol?" Of course we said no, so he said "No it's right in here in my dad's drawer, I'll go get it" and went into his dad's bedroom. Me and the friend I came with went downstairs because we didn't want any part of it, but he saw we were going downstairs and decided not to get it, he didn't want to get in trouble. That's why if you have guns in the house you NEED to teach your kids about them.
NEVER point a gun at anyone or anything that you aren't willing to destroy or kill regardless if the gun's loaded or not

My mother like to always have her finger on the trigger. At the range with a hot pistol, she will turn around and talk to people, finger still on the trigger. I have told her several times to keep the finger out of the trigger guard until shes aiming at the target..... She tells me to chill out... I decided I'm not shooting with my mother anymore because she doesn't feel the common sense rules of firearms are important.
That's way way too common with first time shooters
In my perfect world, when it comes voting on any firearms law, we would take all the members of the House out to a range, and set two metal plates out at 100 yards. One we'll paint with a 'Yes' on it, and a 'no' on the other. Every member of the house gets one shot at the targets to determine their vote. We tally up the bullet impacts to determine the actual total. At least this way politicians would have to learn how to use a gun before voting on how we handle them.
I'd vote for that too, and only Congress could do this, no more ATF, BATFE- I know it's the same-, FBI, CIA, NSA, SS what have you, would have any day in making gun laws, rules or regulations 👍

I went to visit the statue of liberty a year ago, on my keyring I had a multi tool, it has a couple allen heads, a phillips, and flathead. No blade, not even a corkscrew or nail file. They grabbed it out of the tray I put it in before the detector, passed it around examining it, opening the tools, and then they told me (rather rudely) they would have to take it. I felt a bit aw shocked, I told them it had no blade of any kind, so there response was "It doesn't matter, no tools". I was pissed, but had to keep my composure because they were acting like I had committed a crime. So I had to run back to the car (decent distance) and back within five minutes on an 85 degree day in jeans so I wouldn't lose my tool. What a great irony that what I was visiting was the statue of LIBERTY isn't it? I can't stand it anymore.

In grade 8 I believe, I drew a friend a picture of an AK-47, and labeled all the parts and whatnot. At the time, a substitute teacher was in, and she must have been some kind of anti-gun nut, 'cause she snatched up that picture from my desk, called the principle, and the next thing I knew I was being accused of terrorism to the school and everything else.
I have been suspended 4 times for having a journal of graph paper with gun drawings I did from studying blue prints and technical diagrams.

I have worked in firearms most of my life. Over the years of working in gun shops and ranges I have had many customers decide to pull a gun out of a pocket or holster. About 10 years ago I had a customer pull out a loaded firearm. He had a negligent discharge and shot me in my leg right on my shin.

one time I was in a gun shop looking at handguns and hunting rifles. as I was looking at a handgun I saw some guys (had to be 20-24) come in and start looking at the rifles on display. I didn't think much of it until I turned to look at them and realize one guy was pointing a rifle right at me, when I asked him to stop pointing the rifle at me his response was "what's your problem, it's not loaded" I'm not sure but I think it was that statement that got them thrown out of the shop
I got a good one. After I shoot my first deer when I was 12 I kept the empty .243 cartridge and drilled holes in two sides of it and put it on my key chain. Eight years later I went to an amusement park and when I went through security they made me remove it and leave it in my car. When I finally got in to the park and meet up with my group I noticed that they let a girl in our group keep a can of mace on her key chain. my only reaction was WOW.

I had a buddy of mine showing off a shotgun his friend let him borrow. He was acting like he was a swat officer clearing out room occasionally pointing it at me. I got pissed, called him an f ing asshole and took the shotgun from him. I pumped it oug of instict to check it and it was loaded with double 00, saftey was off the whole time. We looked at each other in silence for about 30 seconds, he then said I could of killed you man you could of been dead :(

Common Sense: So Rare it's a damn Superpower.
When people aren't brought up with guns and taught safety from a young age, they are far more predisposed to make some of these stupid mistakes. My girlfriend for example once jokingly aimed a Gamo pellet gun at me. Thankfully, it wasn't loaded, but I made very sure she understood the severity of doing it, that other people may not be so forgiving. Another time later, she was observing a pistol out of my safe, which I keep loaded with a magazine for emergencies. Pulled back the slide right beside me, pulled it out of her hand and she learned another thing not to do. She did not grow up with bb and pellet guns, never learned range etiquette, if she had, she would have never done those things, things I not to do I had drilled into me. So moral of the story is, the more common guns are, the less common mistakes are.

No, the moral is that you don't keep guns loaded anywhere because it is fair to assume that people believe stored guns aren't kept loaded. You were not drilled hard enough and make exceptions. The fault was yours, not your girlfriends. I grew up with guns. I learned that in civil society they are tools for getting meat on the table. As such you do not keep them loaded unless you are out hunting, and you don't need automatic fire. Deal with your paranoia and unload that gun. The likelihood of someone robbing your house with you in it, forcing you to open your safe and you turning the tables on them is astronomically small, and the chances of you exiting that situation unharmed probably greater if a loaded gun is not in your safe.

I went to the courthouse in Memphis, TN to show proof renewed car tags and avoid paying a fine. My brother had given me a magnesium block key chain with a flint and striker. When I emptied my pockets at the metal detector, the person who saw it asked what it was. When I explained that it was a flint he made me return it to my vehicle. He let all of the people, who were outside smoking, come in with their lighters, though!
One time I walked my cousin to my old elementary school, I hadnt been there in about 10 years. We walked to the class room and the teacher was scolding some kid over his call of duty hoodie. I dont like CoD, so I thought it was funny at first, but she really caught my attention when she said something about endangering "everyone in this room" over the logo for black ops 2, with the guy holding up a pistol. I asked her about it and she just said its safer if he takes the hoodie off.
The real kicker is that I decided to draw an AR-15 on the whiteboard (I have a decent drawing hand, so it looked uber real). All the kids were quiet, and the teacher was looking at me with extreme contempt, but she let me finish. After I made my point to her that its just some ink on a whiteboard, she told me to erase it, I told her to erase it if it was so important to do so. I left, but my cousin (4th grader, btw) told me that she was AFRAID of the expo marker picture of an AR-15 infront of the class room, the best part is that she called a janitor to clean it up. LOL

When I was taking my NRA Basic Pistol Instructor's Course last month, there was an older woman there who had never fired any gun before. On day two, we were doing a reaction time drill in which the instructor runs in the opposite direction of the shooter. (Obviously from behind the shooter.) When this woman took her turn, the other instructor said, the runner begins running, and the shooter attempts to get a shot off as quickly as possible. When she made her shot and the runner attempted to stop so we could measure how far he ran, he slipped and fell on the floor. The woman spun around and muzzled the 10 other people behind her with a still loaded gun (finger on the trigger) to ask if he was alright... classic example of uncommon sense...
In early 2011 (I had a GLOCK 23 & Springfield 1911 Loaded in my collection, my collection now includes an M1 Carbine that I bought BECAUSE of Eric.) Anyway I'm in the laundry room of my apt. bldg. & a woman came down & just said to me as she moved clothes from washer to dryer that she just cleaned her oven & had a hard time weashing her hands. I said buy surgical gloves to wear when cleaning the oven. & I told her when I clean my guns I wear surgical gloves b/c all the dirt, grime, mud & crap gets on my hands & wearing the gloves keeps my hands clean. At first she freaked out then I explained they were legal, my deakler was a police officer etc. My gun range is own ed by the city, located under the playground (no idea rthere was an underground range at the play ground. Even after I explained myself the next day she told the superintendant I was gonna kill everybody. I literally think she moved out after that.
I'm a victim of NO TOLERANCE and LACK OF COMMON SENSE by the school system. I come from a middle-upper class area here in northern California, I was EXPELLED for having a pocket knife at school during my junior year (some douchebag ratted on me). They cut short an important part of my youth, and may those cowards pay for it through karma.
I went shooting with a buddy of mine once, (once). He waved the barrel of his mossberg500 at me twice, once with one in the chamber! he also left the safety off whenever he was done. I still love the guy, but I'm never going shooting with him again if I can help it.
Technology can be a great thing for something like this, you guys reaching more people with tips and common sense. Instead of kids spending their lives on the Internet playing video games, keep up the great work!

The idea of everyone being a range safety is an amazing idea. Me and my cousin (I was 18 my cousin 14) went to the local range to have some fun. Some guys looking about my age were out their with their girlfriends and had an AK. They were HIp firing and dumping mags, (not illegal, but not too smart at our range as were already fighting to keep it.) The issue arose when they had a ton of hang fires. They would turn the gun to the back and rack the slide. Pointing it at all vehicles and sweeping the entire firing line. Before I could even blink on the subject my 14 year old cousin is over there giving them a lecture to be a little more safe. (keeping it pointed downrange and how hangfires can be unsafe). I know when I was 14 I would never have the courage to do that.
Love the videos guys, we had a friend blow a hole threw my uncles freezer. We were shooting some clays off the porch and he went inside to use the bathroom, ended up showing my uncle the gun in the kitchen round in the chamber safety off and what not I didn't know it at the time. I went to get some coffee and BOOM he blew a hole right threw the freezer with an 870.
We chewed him out pretty good, he ended up buying a new freezer and giving my uncle a deer later that year.
When i first started concealed carry when i was 21 i was at a friends house and i showed him my gun and first thing he did was pull the trigger... I was like you crazy! Luckly i just started to carry and i was scared to have a round in chamber.. Dumb idiot could have killed me or his mom in next room... Taught me to never give a gun to someone without slide pulled back and mag pulled out..

I work in a Pool and Snooker hall and a sign on the door says "All staff open carry on the premises at all times. You have been warned!". I wouldn't work anywhere that wanted me to disarm before starting my shift, especially when alcohol is mixed with the competitive spirit of sports that has led to a couple of customers drawing their gun in a fit of drunken anger but they always back down and apologise when every member of staff draws a gun and they KNOW we'll fire if we have to.
What ever happened to the days when a dude held up his fists & had a good beating but lived to fight another day? I have spent countless hours in pool halls & bars shooting pool.
Many fights ensued but none were fatal because no one had a fire arm. There was one instance that a drunk pulled a hand gun & pointed it to my forehead & of course I was scared shitless. He ultimately threw a cue ball at the display cabinet behind the bar & ran out the door. There were people in the pool hall that had hand guns on their person but were too stunned to do anything but duck behind the tables. They had guns, I didn't & I was confronted & they hid.
After the fact I thought I could have smashed him in the forehead with a pool ball but it was all too late. He was gone after his burst of anger. You think it's safe to carry weapons but it isn't. It would have escalated into a very serious situation & I would most likely be dead if some hero drew on him while he had his 9mm in my forehead. If nobody carried them, we would all be much safer & live to fight another day.
I happen to like guns & have owned them in the past & maybe will again in the future. I draw the line at carrying one in public. There is a place for everything & guns do not belong in public, populated areas. They belong in the country & wilderness or gun clubs.

i was taught how to shoot and handle a firearm by my uncle who used to be a DI for the marines. he taught respect for the weapon and showed me that these things are a lot of fun but they will end your life in the blink of an eye. your videos are great and im glad to see people wanting to help the gun owners and teach gun safety. i am teaching my girlfriend how to use and respect these guns and when i have her shoot a larger caliber handgun or anything at the range i try to be a little smart and just chamber one round and let her shoot just the one. something simple but it seems safer to me. once again thank you for the great videos
My gun gripe is people that grossly overestimate the performance of guns/cartridges. I was informed by a young man the other day that our local police department didn't need to purchase AR-15s because they could "shoot two miles" and innocent bystanders could be injured. Another gun gripe I have is people that overly estimate the range of shots they have pulled off. A 300 yard shot turns into 600 and a 400 turns into 800 yards.

My step father shot himself with a bersa .380 while trying to "clear the weapon". Instead of dropping the mag out he kept racking the slide back until one round went off and shot his index finger off. That god he isnt blood related to me.
On January 29th my gf along with a dumbass boy were accidentally shot by a Taurus g2 9mm the ammo was jhp +p, but dumbass guy was trying to field strip MY GF PISTOL didn't clear the chamber and shot himself through the palm through the couch and into my gf side but she is ok it didn't hit anything vital by some miracle

Here's a great example of "Uncommon Sense" with respect to milsurp rifles here in Canada. I purchased a 1941 Johnson Rifle a few weeks back, and paid a fair amount of money for it because they are rare to begin with and you don't seem them very often in Canada. Rifle was considered non-restricted, like my M1 Garand or Lee-Enfield.... but now i'm told that the 10-round rotary magazine is Prohibited here (could be a 5-10 year jail sentence to use it in its present state), so I have to get the magazine pinned to hold just 5 rounds, which will no doubt destroy any collectors value it once had. If an M-1 Garand can be considered non-restricted, whats the big deal about the Johnson?
I've just written a comment roughly about the same issue:)... In Italy for whatever reason it's illegal to shoot 9x19 from semiautos. To comply with that law they mangled every single collectible 9 luger they found. No need to mention that any gun now firing 9x21 instead of its original calibre is worth exactly nothing (despite shops trying to sell ridiculous 9x21 Lugers for 1000+ euros as "new from the arsenal")

Bought it from a reputable company online (JoeSalter) thats been buying and selling firearms for a long time, and they posted it as a non-restricted. An M-1 Garand holds 8 rounds and is semi-auto and is considered non-restricted in Canada, and other firearms have been "Grandfathered" in that hold more than 5 in its magazine, the Lee-Enfield being an example. My beef is that the magazine is rotary, how does one go about "pinning" a rotary magazine without destroying most of it?

In Canada a center fire semi-auto has a mag round limit of 5, a law that doesn't apply bolt action such as the Lee Enfield.

We had someone over at the shop/range pick up his 1911 from the armorer where it had been repaired and right in front of everyone loaded it and shot a round into the ground to "test" the repair.
His stupidity got him trespass papers and an arrest for negligent discharge.

It is not uncommon for people to use a 1911 for conceal carry. The armorer just thought he was loading up to put it into concealment.
A few years ago I went hunting with a cousin of mine and on my way home I stopped and got a motel room. When I went to bring my stuff in I brought my rifle in because I didn't want to leave it in the truck. It was in a soft rifle case. When I walked through the lobby heading towards the elevators the guy at the front desk stopped me and asked me if that was a gun. And without missing a beat I said nope! its a pool stick. And he said OK. And I was thinking here's your sign! But I didn't say anything because I wasn't going to leave it in the car!!!
In Canada the Ranch Hand is deemed (and sold) as a non restricted rifle, my .44 magnum is one of my favorite bush guns with a full Model 92 stock on! Also shotguns as long as they are manufactered with an OAL of 26.2" (before folding stocks) and are not semi automatic are also non restricted. We can't trim anything less than 18.5" barrel but we can buy shorter barrels if they are manufactered as such.

You kid is way more likely to kill itself riding a bike, crossing the street, commiting suicide... Its way more likely that you will go crazy and kill your child yourself, than it being killed in a school shooting.
NORML85 problem is the mental health issues in America, hard to ensure people that have PTSD are identified and given the treatment they need, allowing a bunch of veterans that are not verified as mentally healthy walking around with guns in schools that are struggling to pay to have teachers and keeping certain classes.

NORML85 That is a terrible idea. I met a vet, friend of my history teacher, who was terrified of going through the halls for fear of triggering his PTSD in a crowded, noisy hallway. American schools, or any school for that matter, are the worst working environment for war veterans coming back from combat zones, especially urban combat zones like those in Iraq and Afghanistan where its hard to distinguish green and red civilians. There's too much similarity between the two, as population density and traffic confusion is concerned, and too much room for a panic attack to escalate into someone getting choked out.

I tend to agree with the idea that it is not only about control and it's most definitely not about "safety". It is about trying to discourage law abiding citizens from purchasing and owning firearms. They know they cannot simply ban all firearms or confiscate them, so they are trying to reduce our numbers and destroy our culture.

And on uncommon sense I was at the range hear in amarillo a few years ago and the guy next to me on the firing line turns and points a 44m revolver at me. It's not about "common sense". It's all about discouraging (or entrapping) honest citizens who exercise their 2nd amendment rights. The price hike is government taxes, if anything, (considering inflation) it's cheaper now to produce munitions then it was 5 years ago.
DARPA is currently commissioning depleted uranium anti-personnel rounds. Australian mines have been selling to several ammunition companies.
Lead is also cheaply being smelted in portable refineries. It's cheaper to fly in the smelting platforms then it is to transport ore to a smelter.
Still, if you have the time, reloading can be profitable.
Warrior2200 I can't think of any recent regulations on ammunition manufacturers that would cuase a severe spike...The reason prices have skyrocketed since 2011 is simply the result of a massive spike in demand. The increase of prepper/hoarder types combined with all the unnecessary hysteria following Obama's reelection just overwhelmed manufacturer's current capacity, plain and simple. I heard that a lot of manufacturers are increasing their capacity just in case people start going nuts again flooding wal mart at midnight to buy out the entire shelf before the crates of ammo are even off the truck!

tommy gun Depends on the area it's used in..I wouldn't say,that MARPAT works it's best in Afghanistan for example..It's quite grey and doesn't work as good as the Flecktarn for example..But MARPAT is more flexible than the Flecktarn in desert,or original version..We also have Winter-camo,but it isn't in service..So if you mean the flexibility,you're right..But i didn't mean the effect of the MARPAT,which gets weaker,i mean the uniform-camos in principle,because this is a very small factor in today's combat..At least in urban-battles,it's not that important,because the ranges aren't that high..In open firefights it's still an important thing,of course..

Speking of Darwinism, my own uncle went back from hunting once with his breechloading shotgun still loaded, he grabbed it by the barrel, covering the muzzle with his thumb, and rested the buttplate against stone floor. The musket went off having no mechanical safety at all, and he had to get his thumb replanted. He still managed to graduate from medschool, but had to abandon his dreams about surgery :P

I came out of the liquor store one time with a buddy of mine when a car pulled up to us and the guy went out the window and said "hey boy give me your money." I had no idea who this person was. My first instinct couple steps away from him so I have room and then draw. Before I get the chance to draw my buddy says something to acknowledge he knows the guy in the car. it was a coworker of his that thought he was going to play a prank on my buddy. The only problem in this situation is there is a complete stranger caring 45. I found out later that both the guy that went out the window and the driver were both carrying also. It is mind numbingly stupid to pull a prank like that in the first place. It's even worse when there's a complete stranger in the mix. Sounds like a cop in Ca who shot and killed a kid carrying an airsoft rifle that looked like an AK and he turned in the direction of the officer (the cop) unloaded 8 rounds - 7 hitting the kid - We don't have all the info yet but I would say from what we do have, some cop should be in jail and awaiting trial for homicide. Simply attempt to see things from the kids eyes. He didnt know there was a cop hunkered behind his door, drawn down on him for no reason. When I went for my permit, the class was in the range everyone waiting their turn to shoot. A lady in the class rented a gun and while waiting she was flagging everybody. We all kept telling her to put the gun down; she kept waving it. I ran over forced her arm down so the gun would be pointed down range, then grabbed it away and unloaded it.
I'm thankful for the years I was able to watch video's Barry was in. He always made me laugh❤

Two weeks ago at Cabella's, I brought in my Chiappa to see what trade in value was. Gave gun to gun library staff, came back about half hour later, sat down across from him. He looked it over, pointed it straight at me and pulled the trigger several times. Freaked me out bad!!! Probably because it was not re-checked when pointed at me! Long time watcher, first time poster. Just wanted to let you guys know you continue to educate and share the wealth of knowledge whlie continuing your service for the public mass to gain the appropriate common/uncommon sense.
2008- My uncommon sense story is when I cought a person attempting to disassemble a M249 with the rear stock released yet the bolt charged to the rear. I cought em just as he was pushing as hard as he could on the spring rod tring to wedge it out with a multi-tool with his face right behind the weapon. I yeld at em, "Stop your going to bust your teeth out the back of your skull" and explained how to properly assemble/disassemble by the numbers. Later he told me that it was the first time anyone showed him that the spring couldn't have tension and the last time he had taken it apart he had busted his lip when the spring launch out forcing his knockles to punch himself in the face. I just laughed and explained he was lucky thats all that had happened.
was at our gun range, had a guy shooting a .45 and it jammed, i took it from him, had it pointing offf to my left, he stepped up, and the gun was pointing at him, i was shocked at that, everyone else was standing somewhat behind me, out of the way, then he got onto me for pointing it at him, i was upset by that because HE stepped up in the way of a malfunctioning firearm, i did drop the mag and was working on getting the round clear, but still the nerve, then later he sets a loaded gun on the table and walks away, i shook my head and disarmed it, it was a little .22 short pistol that looked basically like a toy gun, you had to pretty much take it apart to load it, so what did i do? i took it apart and handed it to him, he got onto me but when he stopped me again i told him that there are kids around, and though they were his kids i didnt know them and did not feel comfortable with that highly unsafe act, he really pissed me off with that one, i mean its one thing to set it down and be there with the handgun but to walk away, thats just irresponsible, and it upset me

I have the same problem with me making gun holsters. I make them for all of my stuff, because I like making them out of leather. Some people look at them and get scared. Even though it's empty.
One common sense issue is that i cannot buy an AR-15 lower until I am 21, due to the fact the ATF is worried i am going to turn it into a pistol, but i can go buy an AR-15 or a shotgun and convert them into smaller weapons anyway. The law does not prevent any kind of crime, it just gets in the way of honest people trying to enjoy a shooting sport.
I live in NYS, walked into the gun shop and during the registration of said lower I was denied because I a not 21, perhaps its just a state law, with all this "safe" act nonsense. Even the guys in the gun shop were surprised

AltairKamahl Technically, according to the Declaration of Independence it is an unalienable endowed by their "creator" and that follows to the U.S. Constitution and unalienable mean "rights given to them by nature/or divine creator" so yes it is our God given right to defend our selves. Look it up. Also America is not a Christian nation. We are a nation of Free Religion that based our laws on Christian ideals as well as other Monotheistic faiths like Judaism and Islam. A "Christian" nation that people easily confuse America with is more along the lines of England. A nation guided by a religion has a State Religion and America does NOT have a state religion. We have Free Religion. Big difference. It's a common misconception so you aren't the first to make that mistake.

great point guys. i hope you guys never get as bad as our laws in canada. there is a reason we all run .50 beowolf mags in our ARs because it was desgined for 5 rounds of .50 but holds about 14 .223 rounds which makes it legal for use. even though the law says 5 round magazine cap in a semi auto rifle. we are pushing for change now though,

Yes, that's mad enough on its' own, but when we hosted the Olympics last year, our own pistol team had to apply to temporarily import their own pistols and then export them again as soon as their competition was over.... utter madness.

Unfortunately in the UK we have gun laws that are based on keeping guns out of the hands of the working class (these were introduced after the first world war when fears of a Soviet-style revolution were very prevalent). They are also tightened up every time there is a shooting, and it is never criminals who are targeted by the new laws - it's always responsible shooters who find their freedoms curtailed. I'm not arguing that it should be the right of every UK citizen to own guns without a license but it would be nice if those of us who use guns as part of our work could do so without being portrayed as dangerous maniacs and legislated into criminality.
Yeah, I feel you ... here in Germany it is quite similar, but I didn´t know, that in GB guns are completely prohibited (I once read that in Australia the authorities took the guns away from all owners after a mass shooting, I think I mixed something up), I always thought that they are allowed but strictly regulated for sporting purposes (as it is here) or for hunting... If you really want to do that vid, I can help by telling about the law here in Germany ... :)
We have sold a bunch if them. We asked the ATF agent in our area and was told they can not arrest you for shouldering that firearm.
